John Cena is a joke. He's a cancer, and he treats everything like it's cut-up time in a middle school classroom. He always wears that dumb, stupid smirk. He believes himself cute, funny, and charming while he walks around in the ring, ignoring opponents, smirking at the crowd, saying dumb off the cusp comments at their expense, or to the crowd. He isn't cute, funny, or charming. Basically, each time he is in the ring he looks like he believes himself to be above it all. As if he, the GREAT JOHN CENA, is above playing his part ... and that's of a "Wrestler" in the WWE.
Monday Night was a classic example of this guy at his worst. He gets in the ring, acting ally cute and chummy with the crowd, never taking Roman Reigns seriously. Roman is trying to play his part, be in character, respond to a threat/confrontation, and John just brushes it all aside like he is too good to be there. It gives Roman nothing to work with. Then, when Roman finally cuts himself a halfway decent promo, John interrupts him and makes stupid, snide, fourth wall jokes. Again, at Roman's expense. It adds nothing. It's not funny. It's not entertaining. It just makes Cena look like he's too important or too big of a person to interact with Reigns, or anyone else for that matter. Almost like he's above the sport of wrestling now.

Then what happens? John hides the smile, puts on his SERIOUS FACE, and starts shouting at the top of his lungs with emphatics! He reminds me of Stephen A. Smith on ESPN: Just because you talk louder, talk with conviction, doesn't mean what you say is good or accurate. It just means you can put emphasize your speech. No doubt is he a good mic worker, but the way he handles his presence is what's bad. Cena has had no character for ... I don't know, 10 years now? You can't really say the guy has a distinctive character persona ... because he doesn't. The Rock did. Stone Cold did. HHH did/does. The Undertaker did. Roman Reigns does. John Cena did when he was a rapper. But after that? He just turned into this guy ... this guy who walks around, cuts it up, then gets all emotional with his yelling and just because he is good on a mic can get away with it. It doesn't mean that he is good for business outside of selling shirts (which he successfully does and is the many reason he's still around) ... but as far as integrating him into your product? He does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for you. His feuds are boring, he himself is bland, every single feud he's ever had is the same old story. I can't even recall a fued he's ever had off the top of my head except with maybe Orton during Orton's viper-turn head-punting days. And Orton was always the far better WWE product than John Cena.
