Probably not especially considering how influential a character he was in the last decade plus and that there would then be a shitton of history WWE would have to remove.

It would be a disaster on all fronts. PR is killed, sponsors would pull the fuck out of there and viewers would plummet for a multitude of reasons.

Don't celebrate WWE's demise, this would actually ripple to smaller promotions. Indies NEED WWE to function to survive which is a testament to WWE's monopoly of the industry. WWE is entry level for the vast majority of people who decide to get into pro wrestling. You lose WWE, and you lose those people who want to transition towards other Feds and expand their horizons.

WWE guys work a much more intense schedule than NJPW guys, in terms of number of shows, time spent wrestling in each match and time spent traveling (because, y'know, Japan is a lot smaller than North America).

Guys in Japan can afford to do crazy shit at big shows because they're not doing the same level of wear and tear every single night. WWE guys can basically only afford to do it a couple times a year.

I think it's a lot less dark live and the audience can generally see them.

They don't have to be underneath unless it's basically instantaneous like Undertaker, there's a door that's pretty much a straight shot to the ring.

They turn down the lights but don't cut them completely. People in the crowd can see exactly whats going on.
