Mauro is a pretty outspoken advocate for awareness of mental illness and I absolutely believe he was ready to wait out his contract and then tell everybody everything, so it was probably a lot.

Honestly, more than the money though, probably just as powerful a motivation was the fact that WWE could've made things really, really difficult for him personally and professionally if he tried to talk about them. Apparently as is, WWE is even thinking about trying to bring him back so as it stands right now, the bridge might not even be totally burned.

They probably just had their lawyers bully him into silence and said they paid him publicly.

it was fun and probably one of the few times someone with any sense of what a documentary is tried to do something for wrestling. Most cases have been moneygrabs or those fucking youshoots instead.
