5gal minimum.

What's wrong with that bowl? Bettas live in puddles in the wild.
>>
>>2057950
They don't.
>>
>>2057950
...is this a troll? I hope it is
>>
>>2057950
If this isn't bait then allow me to inform you that betas only live in puddles during times of severe drought and not for very long. It's extremely stressful for them. Betas, like all other fish, need space.

No, they live in large rice patties.

Yeah, 5 gal is about as small as you can go and have stable heat and water quality.
It may not be true where you live, but where I live it's about the same price to get all the stuff for a 10 gallon setup as it is for a 5 gallon setup, so look into that.
10 gallons would also give you room for tank mates if you want.

>>2057969
He's a betta, he doesn't like tankmates?
Or am I wrong?
>>
>>2057992
Not true bettas can do fine with plenty of friends as long as they aren't other gourami I'll get a picture of my tank so you can see

They're territorial, so it's other bettas or gourami cousins that cause issues. So any tank mates need to be visually different from bettas, no bright colors or long fins. You also want to watch out for agressive fish that would nip his long fins, since bettas are relatively slow swimmers.

For example, I have cory catfish, african dwarf frogs and harlequin rasboras in with my betta.

The cory cats look different and are bottom dwellers, out of his way.
African dwarf frogs hang out near the top with him, but they are frogs, not fish, so he doesn't care them at all.
The harlequin rasboras are different looking, and also co-exist in the wild with bettas, so no issue there.

Bettas also have individual personalities and can be more uptight or laid-back depending on the fish, so what works for one betta may not work for another.

After I got my sister's betta out of the shitty bowl she had for it I put it in my community tank. He was pretty peaceful, didn't start any shit, lived another 4 years.
I mean he ate some of the mollies babies when she gave birth but like, who didn't.
>>
>>2058014
Mollies will just have more anyway.
It's not like they care.

My rule is at least a gallon minimum.
This has actually helped a lot of customers when I worked at petco.

It is desu. Your koi betta looks like someone took a shit and them colored it.

Mine lives in a 20 gallon with some cory cats. Happiest betta I've ever seen in my damn life. I've kept previous ones in 10 gal tanks. This guy was in a 40 gal for a while, but I think it was actually too big for him, and he didn't like sharing it with female guppies.

I'd go with a five gallon at the smallest, ten if you want a small community, twenty if you want your betta to feel like a king.
