Hi, I didn't know whether this belongs here or in /out/, sorry for the inconvenience.
These two guys popped up in my garden three days ago and I wanted to know whether they're edible, and if so, any good.
Out of focus, sorry, but here's a closer look
btw, location is Buenos Aires, Argentina (South America). It's summer and there hasn't been any rain for at least a week and a half. Why did they appear just now?
looks like Macrolepiota sp.
some species are edible.
Oh, and I took a quick look at the "edible mushrooms" wiki page and they look similar, albeit smaller, to the ones on the right here.

any way to find out which species this is?

eat it and find out.
at worst you'll have diarrhea and stomach cramps for a day or two.

I thought some fungi can kill?
But yeah, these are either Macrolepiota procera or Chlorophyllum molybdites. not sure if it's worth the risk :/

there aren't a whole lot of deadly fungi, and there's plenty of lists on them.
this isn't one of them.

thanks for the help
As a fungi noob I'd say please don't eat anything with skirts that taste bitter if lick. As a hungry student I'd say boil it twice and roast with onions, potatoes and sour cream, should be gud.
