>we can't exterminate Mosquitos until we get bee population back up again
Feels bad, man.
Mosquitoes are important. Mostly because easy fresh water is good and how lake water thermal capacity accumulates huge amounts of sun energy as weeds, green micro algae, mosquito larvae and more. Fresh water fish fry can't survive without tasty mosquitoes larvae and then those and all the other creatures food chains after them keep elevating energy further, creating food for the whole lake native and guest predators, and maintaining the place from turning into a bog.

honestly I'm fine with that. the mosquitoes can stay.
now, chiggers on the other hand... they deserve nothing but swift annihilation. chigger gene drive WHEN?
Why the fuck can't they just all eat fruit like male mosquitoes do?
Can someone identify this animal for me?Just saw a bunch of them in my garden
Its an ant I know that, but what race of the ants
Do you guys have any animal related phobias? I'm pretty sure I have moderate spheksophobia (fear of wasps), I get extremely paranoid during the summer when I go outside during a sunny day especially if I'm standing near a bush or tall grass, every time one gets near me I automatically run away and yesterday one got into my room and I had a fucking panic attack because no one else was in the house to help me.
He's still there, sleeping behind my blinds.

I'm absolutely terrified by the possibility of me accidentally crushing a snail while walking outside.
Merely thinking that its squashed slimy body has the chance to be still alive in that situation horrifies me to no hand.
I can't stand to touch them or let them crawl on me either.
>>2443912
I have a bad case of arachnophobia. I spend an ungodly amount of time checking rooms' corners for webs or spiders and avoiding dark and tight spaces in places I don't know in case there'd be spiders hiding there. Once I opened a door and there was one dangling from a string of web at about my eye level, it dropped a down a little and touched my arm. I ran off, dropped down some place and spent an hour crying and clawing at the spot the spider had touched my arm until it was just all blood. What fun.
If they're very small (good luck, apparently I see them all way bigger than they actually are) and don't move too fast or erratically, I can manage to take them out with a glass and put them out, sometimes.
Also I really don't want to be bitten or stung by anything because I find that horribly annoying, but it's not really a phobia. I really don't want to touch any of those stuff either because they're dirty.
ITT: Pussycats
I bought a Berne mountain dog puppy
It was fun for the first three hours but now I'm bored
The thing is too damn hyper
Is it possible to return it for a refund? It keeps biting me too even though I bought him a chew toy
What the fuck I heard these dogs were nice that's why I spent $1800 on one

Ok /an/, that's it. I've had enough of living alone guarding my dad's house while he's off working or my sibling prawling away from it to do her things. I'm all alone, a depressed socially awkward 21 yr old guy and I'm turning insane every goddamn week they leave me here, and the worst part is they're both assholes in their own right when they come back. Now I have enough money to buy myself a pet and I'm considering buying one for companionship sake. Not even my best friend visits me often and he's off doing university. I've literally had it, I can't go on like this without friends. I used to like being alone but it's literally dehumanizing me everyday and I'm turning into a malfunctioning robot.
So what are good, friendly pets? I only have about 100 in budget right now and I can't buy cats since I'm allergic to them.
You realise you have to pay for food, vaccinations, vet bills, worming, etc right?
Sure you could get a dog for 100 but the fees are going to accumulate very quickly.
Are you sure that you aren't depressed though?
I'm 26, haven't had a friend in 8 years and I don't feel like i'm turning insane.
>>2443852
It's not only that, I think I probably have a mental illness (not that bad) coinciding with my symptoms of depression and anxiety. Idk I just think it would just help if I had a creature at my side. Other humans seem too perplexed to understand me and it's hard actually communicating with them irl.
>>2443856
I think having a dog is helpful but like I said you can't afford it unless you want to give it a hellish and painful life.
Yo /an/ I fed my dog some of this plant & now he's sick, any idea what plant is?
Jasminum polyanthum
How did people "capture" wild baby apes back in the day?
I can't find any detail anywhere. They just say "capture" like the fuckers grow out of the ground or something.
>Did they find a way to drug the mother or would they just shoot her?
I can't stop thinking about this. It makes me sad.
>>2443814
contracted locals to go get them
the locals would slay the entire group, sell the young and use the rest for souvenirs and bush meat
'civilized man' indeed
>>2443814
They literally just killed their parents.
What plant is this? Any anons have resources/key descriptions so I can identify plants from now on? I am botanically-retarded, having specialised in mammalogy or whatever it's called in Englisch. Basically I only learn plants relevant to the mammals I study and care for.
Adenium obesum
Meet buck /an/
That's a cute massive blur.

Sorry :(
Hi people,
I work at an animal shelter, we are no-kill and really care about animal well being. Some people who apply for a dog/cat are complete fucking idiots and thinks this is about when it's about the animal, we don't care are you feel we don't think your 3 and half apartment is suitable for a large breed dog. Anyway It came to my attention that those fucking low life wrote us a bunch of bullshit reviews to get our google rating down. Stuff like we let puppies outside overnight with no food or water...We are all animal lovers, we care a great deal about our animals we want their best interest and make sure they are well taken care of in their future family. Normal people have great experience at our shelter the other half wants a free dog and yell at our staff and write bullshit....in the ends it hurts the animals more than anyone.
I'm asking you to please help me reverse this bullshit. If you could take 2 minutes and google
SPCA of Western Quebec
And give us a 5 stars rating, me and my fury friends will be forever grateful.
A puppy is saved every good rating we get.
Thanks a bunch guys!
>>2443660
I read the bad reviews, and you're right, all the negative ones obviously seem salty that they rightfully weren't ideal for a pet. It sucks that the rating is lowered, but when I look up a place I read the negative ones, and in cases like this it's actually a selling point to me - it indicates the people don't put up with crap and really want the best
>>2443660
You can't just army your problems away. Get a lawyer if the reviews really aren't true.
Why do American badgers look so plebby compared to European badgers?
tfw you have Spheksophobia and you went to the bathroom and heard a buzz and a flying shape near you
>scream and back out of the room and slam the door shut and line the bottom with a towel so nothing can crawl out
>dont know if its a wasp or a fly, too scared to check, now have to wait it out for it to die
>tfw now walking to supermarket to do the toilet
how long till it dies?
this happened last year and i went on holiday to wait it out and in summer i refuse to open windows in uni so i just cook myself but my viliglence is rewarded when i see a wasp outside the window and think "if i was a normie that would be able to get in"
You're walking in the park with your gf when this guy heads up to you and runs around her in a circle.

Hello /an/.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any devices or other tricks to get rid of large birds?
Eagles (Haliaeetus albicilla) have for some reason started to muck up my property and scaring a bunch of other lovley creatures away.
I am looking for a hopefully painless way of getting them to leave, anyone have any experience with these kind of things?
try this

Try putting an owl decoy on your roof if you want my advice, but you should really ask your local state or federal game agent. I'm positive they would be more than happy to find you a ((legally safe)) solution to control federally protected raptors.
