This guy too. I know what he is but I figured I'd throw him in for you reptile lovers.

I need recommendations on how to take care of saltwater clams, especially how to feed them, those in the image are not mine but they are similar

>>
It isn't very feasible indoors.
They need a massive amount of water exchange, and a constant stream of food for them to filter.
This means that on top of the clams, you need to grow algae and plankton to keep them alive. Not to mention the expensive water chiller and powerheads.

They tend not to live long in aquariums. Fisheries are much more successful

I had a goose as a teenager, and would like to get another one.

I live in a medium sized Midwestern city that just started allowing hipsters to own chickens and other fowl. I'd like to fence in my front yard with a 3' picket fence, and keep an American Buff out there as a first line of defense against intruders.

I have a 70lbs Chesapeake indoors, but I'm thinking most city folk are more afraid of a goose charging them than a dog that looks like a lab.

I'm only worried about the noise level being too much for my neighbors, and the thing destroying my yard. The goose I had as a kid did neither, but it's a serious concern.

Yay or nay /goose/?

Can anyone identify this kind of chili pepper plant? I've been planting every pepper seed I came across in the hopes that something would sprout and now I have two mystery plants producing mystery peppers. The longest pepper is nearly 6.5" so far and still growing.

Thanks! I can't wait for it to start to ripen, but it has been steadily growing for weeks now with no sign of slowing down. If it is cayenne, looks like I'll have to wait a while until it's ready to harvest.

Hey, /an/ I work at a shelter and we have a dog who lost all of her puppies before we took her in. She's really lethargic and lays in bed all day and doesn't get excited for anything. When we let a customer meet her she just goes in the corner of the room and whines. The only time she's happy is when sees one of the puppies we have. She thinks they're her kids and tries to call for them. We're not allowed to put any puppies with her because once she realizes they're not actually her offspring, she'll get even more depressed. Is there any way to help her cope? Will she ever get over it? Pic is her

I had a cat once who went through the exact same thing after losing her entire litter. The vet was able to give her some medication that helped tremendously.

First and foremost I am taking my dog to the vet tomorrow, this is not an /adv/ thread. This is general curiosity in wondering what issues Anon has had with their animals during the process.

My little 8 month old Dapple Dachshund has opened her spay stitching tonight. It's only about a centimeter, it started as a scab last night and had drainage today. The scab fell off and now the top most layer has come apart. The muscle layer looks to still be intact.
What issues would constitute this being a medical emergency where you would actually need to take your dog to a vet/hospital?
As of now she is eating, drinking and going to the bathroom. We gently cleaned near the open area and have bandaged it and wrapped a pressure gauze gently around her waist.
Have you had any issues or horror stories?

For the most part she has been wonderful, she laid around for the 7 days almost still with little medication. Suddenly yesterday she got very excited and tried to keep running around which was the mistake on my part not to just crate her.

I've gotten numerous laceration where you could see the muscle(which was intact) and I've never gotten stitches for them. Granted, they were 3-4 inches max long but they were well wide enough that I could have gotten them stitched. I work outdoors and I just can't be bothered to go to the hospital unless it's a real emergency.

For dogs and especially one that has such a deep/invasive surgery, I'd be very wary about it getting infected. She's low to the ground and can pick up anything, plus make it even worse by scratching or licking. The more open the wound is, the more likely it will get infected but if you're going to take her to the vet tomorrow then she will be fine. They might have more trouble if they try to restitch it, or the vet might not do it at all. Can't really tell you without a pic.

tl:dr she will be fine.
>>
>>2458064
And I just realized you said she has had the stitches in for seven days. Not sure what kind of stitches there are besides 'normal ones' or staples but at least in humans, surface stitches are taken out at a 1 week+. I'm kind of surprised that it would open up that much at this point. My cat's stitches were taken out 9 days after she was spayed.

This, you'd be surprised just how big and fat they can get.

Also, if you catch one yourself, you don't have to worry about contributing to the horrible pet trade industry that is pure suffering for most of the decorative pet snakes.

Feel good greentext thread, need to regain a little faith in humanity.

>Be me, deliver pizzas for a living.
>Tips are normally pretty good, but once you cross the highway it instantly becomes the ghetto
>Day is going well, get an order to that side of town
>Fuck it, already hit my tip goal for the day, so I head on over there.
>Get there, get out of my car and slowly start shuffling to the door, replying to a text I got.
>Feel my foot bump something
>Look down, a kitten is looking up at me, mewing
>fuckthatscute.omg
>Think it must've snuck out the front door when it was open or something, so I pick up the kitten and head to the door.
>As I knock, I feel something on my foot
>look down, a second kitten is perched on my foot, being adorable as hell.
>Typical ghetto looking dude answers the door
>Ask him "hey, are these your kittens"
>"nah, they just kinda hang out around here"
>"oh, well do you know where their mom is?" was hoping to take them to whatever house she was at
>Dude replies "uhh... She died about a week ago"
>"that's tragic, are you taking care of them at all?"
>"well, uh... I mean... I work a lot, and, uh, I don't know if the other people do"
>good job dodging the question douchebag
>try to stay civil, gonna try to get the kittens away from there
>ask him "well, if you don't want them, do you mind if I find them a home? Are there any others?"
>"uhh, sure, I don't care. And, uh, there were three more, but they died a few days ago
>this mother fucker really let 3 orphaned kittens starve to death, and was going to let these two as well.
>just try to get through the delivery without cussing him out
>take the kittens and drive back to the shop, try to give them some water but they won't drink (I think they drank rainwater, since it rained a lot just the day before, might be why they made it and their siblings didnt)
>have bf come take them home

Pic related, the kittens in their new bed, they seem to be bouncing back quite well.

Are you planning on keeping em or finding another home?
>>
Don't be sad, but they probably won't make it. When they're so young, having their mother around is critical to their survival.
>>
>>2457319
Plan on keeping them, don't have any other cats at the moment and I kinda already fell in love with them. They aren't drinking water though, so they have me a little worried. Tried giving them water and formula through bottles, plastic syringes (like for baby medicine) bowls, anything, and they won't drink it. So I've been slipping some extra water into their canned food, and they eat that like crazy.

>>2457336
They're pretty young, but they're moving around and eating normal food, I think they're going to pull through. They're a lot more playful today than yesterday or the day before (when I got them) so I'm hopeful.
