i am trying to enroll to uni and i have to know ecology
is khanacademy.org/science/biology/ecology enough? maybe you have notes prepared when studying for exam on this branch of biology you could share with me?
thanks in advance

Honestly, Khan academy does a pretty good job of giving a fair base of knowledge in a subject...I have not looked at their ecology stuff, but it's probably a good start.
>>
Khan academy will cover like 80%. For the other 15%, just watch similar types of videos on ecology put up by tutors, TAs, professors, etc.

Berkely used to have a good video before they took down their free lectures off YouTube.

i am watching crash course on ecology but it is made in colaboration with khan academy
is it ok?

They can be fictional, made up, prehistoric, extinct, or whatever.

I wish we had the equivalent of chocobo around. Riding a large bird would be awesome. Riding an ostrich or emu isn't enough, I'm talking about a big enough bird that can carry you without breaking it's back and carry your shit and supplies as well. Not only that but be able to run fast while carrying your ass as well.

Guess who'sback, motherfucker.

As a refresher for those who weren't here for the last iteration, I tried feeding hornworms a variety of fluorescent compounds to see if the resulting months would glow.

The results were inconclusive; all pupae died, so no moths we observed, but data would suggest that the compounds were broken down internally and oxidized.

Trying something similar, but more mundane. Feeding them plants that contain strong natural pigments, such as cabbage, beets, carrots, etc, and seeing what adult attributes are observed.

Looking for recommendations, which plants are non-toxic to moths and contain vibrant colors?

I remember you.

why not try a radioactive isotope and check for non-visible em spectrum?
>>
>>2465533
>all pupae died,
are you sure you know how to raise a hawk mothe?

did you give them a couple inches of soil and leave them buried? did you moisten the soil? This is critical.
>>
>>2465534
The best I might be able to do is americium from smoke detectors, or tritium from gun sights. Either way, the radiation would likely harm both me and the larvae. Plus, and I've tried, any OTC Geiger counter wouldn't be able to pick up the ambient radiation around a live jelly bean full of plutonium, let alone a caterpillar who'd eaten dilute isotopes toxic to humans. Im looking for stable compounds that won't bring the FBI to my door.

A Solifugid, often referred to as a Sun Spider, though more-closely related to scorpions. Their pedipalps terminate in a suction cup-like structure, which allows them to snag prey and bring them into their enormous chelicerae.

So... is he molting or is he dead? I found him soaking in his water dish and he lost a leg shortly after. I picked him up a few times because I didn't understand what was going on. He's very small and he's been in this position for about a week now. It kinda smells like fish, but it's very very faint. What's happening to my little guy? :(

I dripped a couple drops of water on him and his eye stalks did that. Is that a surefire sign he's passed away?

Assuming you always have this kind of behavior with it, you probably stressed it to death. Hermit crabs like to be left the fuck alone. Especially during molting.

Oh my cat used to come and chill with me all the time when I was drunk and/or high. I'd just lay on the floor and she'd satellite around me, interacting with me, just being social. She was a total bro, always down to chill.

Well if your cat didn't like you sober why did you expect to be liked while high?

my puppy seems to be pretty sporadic when it comes to flipping the fuck out when I leave her alone. Sometimes she's cool with it, other times she calms down within a couple minutes, and other times it takes her up to 20 minutes to stop screaming and then anyone who walks past her line of sight will just trigger her again.

Is this normal? I figure she's still just getting the hang of it because she's only been in the house for a week, but I worry that it'll develop into separation anxiety
>>
>>2456347
Never mind, I'm a huge retard. I somehow forgot to give her a chew treat this time and that's why she was freaking out and not focusing on something else.

So I was giving you too much credit with my first post. Well played.

I think my quaker parrot hates me. Whenever I go near the cage it leaps to the edge of the cage and snaps at it trying to bite me. The other day I put my hand in the cage to try to pet it and give it attention with gloves on and it bit me and broke skin through the glove. It used to be my sisters bird and she'd smack the cage when she thought it was being too loud. Is there any way I can get my birb to be more comfortable around me? Thanks.

Also, whenever I whistle to her she bobs her head as if she wants attention, but I don't know how to give it to her any other way
>>
Do you ever let her out of the cage?
>>
>>2464728
No, one time she got out on accident and she did her best to get away. When I picked her up her heart was beating really fast.
