Is it OK to buy a Budgie from PetSmart? I heard they're treated pretty badly and made in breeder mills. I'm having a hard time finding local budgies that need homes and there's no breeders near me.
Why would anyone want a bird? All they do is stand there and scream 24/7
>>2464995
Budgies from PetSmart don't tend to be social and are very, very hard to train if they can be trained at all.
Get one at your own risk.
>>2464995
I have a hard time believing that there's no private owners/shelters near you who are looking to get rid of the most common pet birds.
how do i get my dog to stop sleeping on the stove?
>>2464953
clean your house you disgusting trailer trash
>>2464955
i was about to do the dishes but my retard dog got in the way
>>2464953
Why is it a problem? Just wipe it down before you use it
I hope this is the correct board for this kind of question but I found this little animal in my garden and I hoped that a spider fan here could tell me what it is.
I'm sorry for the shitty pic but it was the best I could do.
To give you a scale each slot in the pic is 2,5 cm large and the spider was found in northern Italy, Europe.
A young cross spider?
I dont see anything
>>2465141
Woah nevermind me. I thought you meant that dot on green bar.
>>2464833
Looks like a pretty young birgus latro. Cant really tell from pic tho.
Anyone know what the slimy clingy things in this picture are? Pic was take on Vancouver island
>>2464687
maybe anemones retracted into their bodies while tide is out.
>>2464790
It's this precisely.
My dog is cool and all but she's obsessed with rubbing up against me and climbing on me. I got her to stop jumping up as much but she still does it sometimes and she will sit there rubbing up against my legs for hours straight non-stop, it makes my pants dirty and all my clothes are now covered in dog hair.
How can I get her to stop?
>>2464680
Take it to the vet.
>>2464682
Yeah, she's never been. Thing is she's not technically my dog. The actual owners will pretty much never take her to the vet anytime this century, but I'm very broke and can't afford to take her myself. I don't even have a car to drive there. She's got sharp claws as well and scratches the fuck out of me drawing blood.
Kill the actual owner, and then yourself. Dogs are god-tier pets and you neither deserve nor can handle one.
I just posted this on /b/ because I know someone might be good enough to give me some proper advise but I want to post it here as well.
My dog is 9 years old and has a swollen cheek, he is in pain and I took him to the vet but she couldn't tell what it was, do you guys have any idea what it might be? The vet said it might be his teeth but she isn't sure. Thanks for your help /an/
>>2464590
Either you're lying about taking him to the vet or you took him to some shitty hillbilly vet that has no fucking idea what he's doing because nobody just goes "no clue lmao anyway you can leave now". Take him to a proper vet and stop asking on the Internet.
>>2464599
this. you got ripped off dude.
probably a tooth abcess though
>>2464600
If it's the tooth they said they needed to apply 3 vaccines to reduce the the swollen part and then make some tests to see if he needs surgery,
cumfart

If insects size is limited by the amount of oxygen present in the atmosphere....
.... What if we made 100% oxygen insect farms and tried to breed massive dog-sized spiders or something?
Would such a thing be possible?
That seems like an experiment that could take centuries to bear fruit, and even if it did the insects would suffocate as soon as they are exposed to current atmospheric conditions
It's not like all you need to do to make a bug grow is just add oxygen
Isn't it just from evolution?
I can't imagine a huge spider would just die straight up in low oxygen but would be less fit to survive and reproduce.
100% oxygen would kill them. You'd have to reach some kind of upper limit on the oxygen to nitrogen ratio for it to work. Even then there's a limit on the size just based on their exoskeleton. It can only be so thick and heavy before it crushes them in our gravity.
hey /an/ was in the toilet today and noticed this kind of spider and ignore it as I hate spiders and shit scared of big ones.
later I found it disappeared somewhere.
anyway later on I was walking my dogs and as I was leaving my flat I noticed these two in the close (brit here)
(pic related) it's the same type of spider I'm sure it is.
so I got two questions
1. what type of spiders are they?
2.is that eggs in the corner?
>>2464487
here's the bathroom spider from earlier
>>2464487
You should take a picture from further away, with a worse camera.
It's probably just a giant house spider.
Maybe a brown recluse. Check google
my cat was feral in past and he does not want to play, i bought him a stick with a mouse on top of it and he ignores it, same with a ball from pet shop
i think he has no need to play because he catches butterflies and grasshoppers instead of playing but can i do sth to change it?
>>2464474
Why the fuck would you want to make your low maintenance cat a pain in the ass to care for?
>>2464488
i want to observe him playing and to have fun with him
>>2464491
Selfish fuck
I bet you eat animals every day
How does one go bug hunting in the States? Can I just lather some honey on a tree like I'm Japan or do I need to go turn over some debree?
>>2464237
>debree
Well I bet those bugs have good senses of smell- just look at that huge nose -and it probably likes sugar because who doesn't? But a lot of bugs I would guess do not smell so well and rely more on their eyes or even their antennae for sounds and stick closer to their little habitats.
There's a lot of different kinds so it depends what you want to look for. I know you can grow certain plants to attract some things to your gardens.
I'm interested but I don't know a lot about this.
>>2464449
>huge nose
Literally the bug equivalent of a giant floppy dong to attract females, and fend off smaller males.
The antenna are what insects use to chemorecept.
I really want to buy a mink.
Persuade me not to.
>>2464168
buy two pairs of male and female. that way they will breed quicker and more. you will be able to sell the furs and make bank
Even after cleaning the cage everyday the smell is absolutely horrible. Not cuddle animals either
thanks for reminding me of Minerva Mink
>tfw accidently stepping backwards after taking an outside piss
>tfw accidently crushing the back of the stray neighborhood kitten
>tfw crippling a kitten
Holy fuck bro this is awful
>>2464027
>stray
it's not like it was going to live a fulfilling life. just end it or make someone adopt the little shit
i kill the cats in my neighborhood on purpose
>>2464027
>stray neighborhood kitten
If they are so populated that you can't even take a piss without stepping on one, then you have problem.
Assuming this isn't another bait thread of course.
Hey /an/ons, sorry to post yet another ID thread but the folks at Petco were unsurprisingly unable to identify these little guys. My dogs screwed up their burrow almost all day so I figured the parents are long gone by now. They were just in my yard in Houston TX, but I haven't been able to find anything that looks like them. Does anyone have any ideas what they are?
They are rabbit kits and you should put them back. Mother rabbits only stay at the burrow for a few minutes at a time.
Here's another pic. They have small hairless tails so it seems like rabbits, squirrels and rats are out of the running. My guess was some sort of Vole
>>2463861
Oh damn, wouldn't the mother reject them at this point? I'll put em back soon if they're rabbits, hope they make it
I have a dog, I'm the one who trained it when it was a puppy, whenever it has needed care I've provided it, but the little ingrate has become spiteful of me over the years, the only feelings it lends to me are defensive, it either slinks away from me cowardly with it's tail tucked or it growls at me UNLESS my parents are gone in which case it will run to me for protection. I don't really understand this dog psychology, and it's made me kind of hate dogs and think they are stupid
>>2463662
your parents probably feed it.
you provide the care, as in taking it to the vet? he probably associates you with the vet and doesn't like the vet
>>2463662
>it either slinks away from me cowardly with it's tail tucked or it growls at me UNLESS my parents are gone in which case it will run to me for protection.
This makes no sense. Dogs don't hate anyone for no reason, they've literally been bred to form reasonably close bonds almost immediately. You and/or your parents probably ascribe to dominance theory and took it to extremes and have traumatized her
