Some days ago I found a video of some Chinese guys cooking a little dog alive. I am still shocked and I can not get rid of the haunting voices and images... I feel hatred and disgust towards Chinese. I just would like to ask whether Chinese authorities do anything against such barbaric practices? Or is it legal in China to cook dogs alive? Do most Chinese people accept it?

Tanks are all done and just waiting for a few finishing touches to arrive in the mail but otherwise it's complete (hammock being replaced with lizard lounger and the box underneath will be replaced by a large cork bark tunnel for a more natural look)
The tanks are converted IKEA cabinets, and I think they turned out pretty good.
Picking up the bearded dragon for the top next monday, and my leopard gecko has already moved into the bottom part.
The dragon is also getting a proper tube uv light, the one in the pic is just for lighting purposes.
What do you think?

Because sand is nasty and neither beardies or leopard geckos should be on it. They live in Rocky deserts not sandy ones. Not to mention beardies love to run, and sand makes it harder to do that.
It's also like cat litter and absorbs all the nasty fluids from their crap. So if you wanna keep is clean you have to constantly change it. And that gets expensive.
Also seen some nasty impaction problems with both Leo's and beardies and even tho a healthy one shouldn't have any issues. Depending on the personality it'll still injest way too much, or you can't tell if or when it will get sick so no point of risking it.
I see 0 pros to having sand in a tank unless a species needs it (like sand fish skinks)

Guys I'm a fucking mess. I just found out my parents who, yes I still live with, made an appointment to have my dog put down. He was my first dog I ever bought myself from a shelter and raised to be my own and they did this without my knowledge. They already paid in full and can't get a refund so there's no going back. I just need some help coping with this and preparing myself for it. Any advice from people who have gone through it before?

Honestly if I could I would choose him over them. All they do is argue and yell and fight. Whenever they're gone and don't want me I always had him and now he's gone. He loved me. He slept with me in my bed, I even trained him to walk along side with me on walks without needing a leash. And like that they're just pulling him away from me

Not sure if you remember me, but about a year and a half ago I bought a Shiba Inu puppy saying I was going to show her, test her health, and breed her if all goes well.
My first opportunity for an All breed show is coming up in July and I'm very excited. She's just about hitting that age where everything should fall together.

I have recently become a cat owner by chance and have been trying to take this seriously as I can.
I found about how bad kibble is for cats on this site http://catinfo.org/
And now I wanna try my hand at making my own cat food, and I would like to hear any past experiences people of /an/ had gone through during this ordeal(catfood making for the first time).
PD: I have easy access to cheap chicken liver, heart, gizzard and thighs, which I plan to use to make my cat's food, but I fear that if on top of that I add taurine powder,I might be adding way too much taurine.

because I hail from /fit/ and have no problem doing this kind of thing.
How ever as you said I do not know how cat nutrition works, but at the same time I know that what what ever is sold canned will never come close to a real prep meal.
And almost every info source i have found says that kibble is worse than Hitler for your cat because of the lack of water and heavy carb content.

Hey guys, I have a dog who recently got infected by fleas. I've never had this problem before so I'm not really sure what flea treatment to get. After some research I saw that frontline plus would be a good option but for the sake of saving money I decided to see if there's any good cheaper alternatives.
What are some good cheaper flea treatments? Are products like pet armor plus or Adams flea protection that home depot has good alternatives to frontline plus or am I better of getting frontline plus? My dogs don't have a severe flea infestation. Has anybody here had any experience with products like Pet Armor or Adams? Where they good or bad?
What do you normally use for your dog?

I use the Adams shampoo but I haven't heard anything positive or negative about their drops. I get the advantage II drops for my dog even though they are expensive because the fleas in my area are resistant to some other drops

I would find it awesome if Trump got some abused pit bull that ends up acting like a sweetheart. Reason being is that Obama's dog, a purebred known for being very friendly and great with kids, bit someone and they required stitches. That would be so satisfying.

I became a vegan 3 weeks ago and the next logical step was to make my dog vegan too. I talked to my vet and she told me it was perfectly fine.
Every time I tell people that my dog is going vegan they think im crazy and that the dog will die, how to deal with idiots like this? Why would they think that they know more than a professional veterinarian?
