Fancy goldfish need to be kept in 15 gal each, and need to be kept in pairs at least, so a minimum of 30 for a pair. Some larger fancies need 20-25 each.

Common goldfish need 50+ gallons each and koi need 200+ gallons each. Again they're social and need to be in pairs.
Please rehome them.

temporarily you can get a large storage tub, which is a great temp home. Or look our for a dollar per gallon sale, if you maybe want to keep the fancies.

Good fish for a 15 gallon are Bettas and guppies (not together)

I've had a rabbit for about a year, a small-ish holland lop that was neutered, seems fairly chill, lets me stroke/hold him, however sometimes he sort of slowly headbutts my leg when I'm sitting down on the floor and when I pet him his eyes close slightly and he isn't still. Is he ill?

My roomie just adopted a rat from a hoarder. His hundred+ brothers and sisters were mostly put down, but he survived. Unfortunately, he's not really sociable. Any rats/humans that try to interact with him (even a little) get hostility and even biting. Is there any way to help him warm up to us, or if that's impossible, to find some other source of enrichment so he doesn't get lonely?

Just talk to him daily, try to get him to take treats from you. Get a pair of thick gloves to wear when handling him.

Hey /an/, what's the best way to [humanely] get rid of feral cats living in your backyard? Our dog doesn't intimidate them and they're always back after I chase them away because the old lady next door keeps feeding them. Currently there's about 10 to 15 cats under our shed. I've lost count and I think they're inbreeding because their babies are slow to react, not cautious of humans, and have vision/sensory problems.

Could a fish swim in lava just like it does in water? Are there possibly species of fish-type creatures in it that we haven't discovered?

The fish would have to be extremely dense so they don't just float on the surface of the lava. They would have to be able to convert the heat into energy because I don't see them eating anything in the lava. I'm sure it's somehow possible but I don't know how they'd live.

Is Go! Fit + Free good?

It has 5 stars on Dog Food Advisor, but they don't do composition analysis of actual sample, just analysis based on product information supplied by the manufacturer.

I've been thinking of switching from Acana Heritage Large Breed to this Go! food because my dog's poop has been a little soft for a while, and Go! has lower fibre content.

Also, general pet food question thread.

copy-pasting from the thread I made a while ago

Hello /an/ I bring a question. My dog (no specific race, a street dog) eats my cats' food. I ask of you, is said food good enough for her? Can I simply buy the same food for both dog and cats and be done with their feeding?

This is the ingredient list:

>Rice
>Extruded soybeans
>Soybean peel, soybean pellet
>Chicken oil, fish oil
>Chicken meal, fish meal
>Taurine
>85% phosphoric acid
>Salt, mineral and vitamin nucleus
>Ethoxyquin
>Calcium propionate
>Liver hydrolyzate
>70% choline.

Is this food safe for dogs? Any specific nutrient is not included in this food that my dog might need?

Thanks in advance!

I don't mean to go off topic but I used to work for a pet food factory back in college. I was in charge of the big machine that made dry food. Here are the ingredients: Powdered Chicken Fat and Vitamin powder mixed with water.
This applies to most European based pet foods: Mackles, Brandy dog food, Cat Club, Champion, Cumfy, and Husky to name a few.

The more you know

I've tried getting my dog to eat kibble, and she just straight up refuses to eat it. Tried all of the brands that are readily available from the absolute bottom shelf stuff to the premium 5 stars with complementary jerk off stuff. Ive received one answer, nah.

I've asked the vet what to do, was told to give her food and leave her be. I endured it for 5 days and gave up after she started retching gastric acid.

Shes 14 month old malamute, sterilized, she'll eat canned food but only for short period of time, ie 4 days lamb and rice top shelf 10$ a can food and then a stint of refusing that food and only accepting the 10 cans I got for 2$ from the disgusting corner shop. Most of the time I dont even bother with kibble or canned I just get meat, bones, veggies and eggs from the shop and serve her that.

Do I just give up completely on kibble and canned, or is there some magic method of getting the prick to eat kibble? Oh and before you ask no she aint fed of the table or under the table there is time when she eats and time when I eat.

Why does people having cats at home have to go to wet every month because something wrong is going on. While generations of cats in my family never had any diesase tho every couple of month one is going kamikaze vs a car, but the smartest one live to this day, some are 4 and one is even 10 years old. They keep fucking, they eat birds they puke birds they eat mice they jump they give birth to other fucktards that will end under wheels and I'll have to unglue them fron the asphalt and run and all that village shit. Why?

I'm not one. We just need cats to eat rats and shit.
>>
>>2318711
the scent alone will keep rats away moron, rats have good noses and they don't like going into the fucking cat's den because of self-preservation. I know these concepts are hard to a catfag who doesn't even understand basic ecology, but bare with me.

Your cats are healthy because they don't rely on you for their diet. Being a catfag, you likely feed them dry corn kibble 90% of the day which is why they go outside and ravage the wildlife. Indoor cat owners are just as retarded and don't back up the kibble with exercise and access to the outdoors, thus their cats suffer.

The truth is you're both morons and you shouldn't even be allowed to own any animal larger than a hamster.

Hi, this is Max.

He's an adorable little beast. Very playful, acts bigger than he is. We love having him around.

He has this bump/bubble/sore on his lower left gum and it's got me worried. We've only had him a few months and planned on getting him neutered later this month. So we WILL be taking him to the vet and getting it sorted, but I'm wondering if any of you have seen this kind of sore before or might know what it is.

He doesn't show pain when eating, though he bites a LOT when playing.

Do not wait a month. Call a vet and get in as soon as you can.

I didn't say I was taking him in a month. I said I'm taking him later this month. Next week at the most. Please learn to read before inflating your ego.

I've been looking into registering my dog as an “emotional support animal”. From everything I have found, there is nothing preventing me from printing out my own certificate and ID for myself and the dog.

No site seems to have any actual backing, in that, they will stand behind the certificate they send you.
There is nothing that looks to be:
1) affiliated with the government,
2) affiliated with a state or national registry,
2) affiliated with a healthcare provider.

Is this accurate as far as anyone knows? Am I missing something?

My primary areas of concern are access to public transportation and access to housing that would otherwise prohibit animals if they were pets.

For what it is worth, or if anybody is particularly legally-minded or has experience, this would be in the US / Massachusetts.

I would like to know too. I'm in AL and the apartments I'm staying in don't allow pets, but 90% of us living here have at least a cat or dog.

I have a history of some mental conditions, but since I moved here I haven't established any kind of relationship with any doctor.. I have had my snowshoe for almost 11 years, and I have no plans to let her go now. Most places here don't allow pets, which is bizarre to me. What can I do without going to a doctor for a note? I doubt they'd hand me one the first visit!
>>
>>2318653
I just picked this up from a site called registerservicedog. It sounds like they can legally ask you to confirm your dog is registered ESA

>You are never required to disclose what your disability is to anyone, nor is anyone allowed to ask about your disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the service dog, or ask that the service dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task.

>The purpose of the ID kit and vest is so others are aware of the fact that the dog is a service dog. It is to drive awareness to those around you since people often have a pretty difficult time without the vest and ID kit.

Anyone enjoy foraging for their own food? We had wild blueberry bushes in our back yard growing up, and last year I found fiddleheads near a stream at my parents' new house. With spring coming I'm excited to try foraging for mushrooms, anyone have specific advice towards this? I'm in Massachusetts if that helps
