What are Lion happy sounds called?
From what I can' find online they don't purr of Chuff. Do they make any happy sound or are they just silent?
They do chuff and 'rumble' that sounds exactly like purring but it's still apparently not purring.
In the book Life of Pi it tells the name of this sound. Can't remember it though. Lol sorry

I believe it is purring, but lions can only purr on the exhale (or inhale, i forgot which), while cats purr on the inhale and the exhale.

Is that a bisquit or dried bread?
Either way, I am pretty sure you shouldn't let your bun eat something like this, anon.
Also, this is now bunny thread. Post your buns.

Stake plants with bamboo?
Is it legit?
Yes that works fine.
Is it normal to get a boner from petting animals?
It's fine as long as both you and the animal get a boner.
>>2325402
What if it's a female?
It's normal as long as you don't get them every time or is aroused by it

Hey there /an/, first time poster here.
I am currently working at a factory in a second world shithole of a country. In January I have noticed this beautiful German shepherd just roaming around the buildings of the facility.
At first I thought it belonged to the security guards, but then one morning one of the co-workers was trying to feed her. I walked up to this woman who told me, she was a stray dog, who just ended up in the facility, now she and some other coworkers take care of the dog.
I approached the dog and she looked very afraid and took a very long time for me to get near her. She is young, about a year old, but seems like something that is in dire need of a home.
I would take her in, but the owner of my flat does not allow pets and I don't have a flat that would be suitable for her.
The owner wants to call the pound to take her away, but I'm afraid she would not get adopted and they would only put her to sleep.
So what to do, /an/? I would like to help her, but I don't have any FB or any social shit to post it on and my friends don't have space for another dog either.
Pic related, it's her. I had to take a picture from afar, because she was afraid of the sound of my shitty camera's shutter sound (which I can not turn off on the phone)
>>2325023
Guess you'll have to do word of mouth. Ask everyone to ask everyone who can take her in. I'm not seeing any other option.
Such is life living in a third world shithole. I guess you can see if your local American embassy would take the dog; they will sometimes take care of stray/abandoned dogs and sometimes ship them to shelters in America to get adopted. Maybe other embassies do that too.
My mom sent me this picture today

I've had pet cats since I was a little kid and I'm pretty confident with looking after them and their mannerisms and everything. Me and my roommate are considering getting two siamese cats from a shelter and in their bios it says something about how siamese cats have different needs. Has anybody here had siamese cats before? Is there anything distinctly different about keeping them than about keeping other kinds of cats?
>>2324911
they're really fucking loud and they're more social than other cats so they'll be really clingy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwSYm1NPHP4
>>2324911
They're almost surely not siamese. They're probably just colorpoint DSH, but shelters label them as siamese regardless. Cats are cats, just save them from being euthanized instead of dropping 1200 on two cats.
>>2324927
This though. Only actual siamese i've ever met would NOT stop fucking screaming when he came into my clinic. He yowled and yowled for hours and didn't stop until he was fully sedated. If loud animals aren't your style, don't even think about getting an actual siamese.
I am new to /an/, hoping to be a permanent resident. What are the needs and supplies for a vegetable producing garden. I want to create one hopefully around spring. All advice welcome. pls help.
Honestly /out/'s Homegrowmen threads are probably what you're looking for if you want a vegetable garden. You can find the current one here: >>>/out/944669
You generally start planting after the last frost for your area, which may be much earlier than spring depending on your area. Look at https://bonnieplants.com/library/find-your-gardening-zone/ to find your zone, then google what time to plant each specific thing you'd like to grow, in relation to your zone.
Hey /an/, I've been thinking of starting an Ant Farm because I just think they're really cool and interesting insects.
What costs are we looking at to start it all up? Any recommended places to buy it from?
>>2324692
OP, check out AntsCanada on youtube.
They have all of the information, including lots of interesting videos.

Thanks m8, will do.
So, I was walking down a beach in Uruguay, when I found something like pic related washed up on the beach.
what the fuck is this? is this even vegetal or is it an animal? I found one about 1 inch long, and then another about 5 or 6 inches long. It was greenish or brownish

I'd like to do something like pic related with my aquarium, but the only light it gets is room light, are there any plants you guys would recommend for a very low light aquaponics system?

Poison ivy grows great in aquaponics!

Hey /an/, I just had to save my Rottweiler's life by pulling a tennis ball out of it's throat that it swallowed because it didn't want to give it back.
I took her to the vet and had her looked at and they said she should be fine, just watch her for excessive sleepiness or lack of a desire to eat.
She's eaten and she's still acting like herself right now, but do you guys have any other things you think I should watch for and any advice for dealing with dogs who are choking in the future? Because having to wait until she was weak enough to let me stick my hand down her throat to pull out the tennis ball wasn't fun.
It doesnt cost much to get certified in dog CPR fyi.
I'd take the online course if I were you. Might give you some peace of mind
the best thing would be to work on her "release". if she would have let go when you told her to she would not have choked.
another thing would be to try to avoid playing with things your dog might choke on.
Our Rottweiler died because it was greedy and choked on a bone she wanted to eat.
I was not there and my sister was too frightened to do something against it. Really really sad day for me since I grew up with that dog and loved her a lot.
I am glad you acted. All the best for your and your friend!
