/an/ I need some serious advice.

Two days ago my older dog attacked my 8 month old puppy out of the blue. It wasn't that serious of a fight. He bit her repeatedly and chased her but there were no injuries. I saw it happen and she hadn't done anything but lay down near him (like she always does).

Since then he's been growling and lunges for her whenever he see's her. We've got him chained up at the moment. My puppy is so traumatized she's started peeing in the house and will yelp and scream if I try to make her go out, usually peeing herself in the process.

My family want to have the old dog put down since he is 12. They seem to think it's dementia that's caused his sudden aggression. The dogs were very close before the attack.

Really I just want to know what other anons would do in this situation. Is it worth having him PTS? I love that dog but this behaviour is dangerous. I don't think I can ever trust him around her again.
Also I'm so worried he has damaged my pup for life. How do I go about dealing with her phobia of our yard now? I haven't been able to get her outside for a walk. I have no idea how she'll respond to other dogs now, or if it's only our other dog she's terrified of.

It could indeed be dementia.

When I got married my wife brought with her a Cocker Spaniel who was about that same age. No problems or issues until one day he fucking snapped and mauled my hand as my wife was getting in bed and I kissed her goodnight.

I told my wife she's driving back to her parents in the morning with the dog. Dog had a few more violent biting episodes with her parents in the next couple weeks and they ended up having him put down.
Sure enough, he had some brain issues and was suffering from dementia...
>>
Take older dog to the vet, if it's dementia, they might be able to do something and have some tips for your pup.
>>
I've heard of dogs that get brain tumor at their old age; it messes up the parts of their brain that affect their behavior, and their personality takes a sudden aggressive turn. Or sometimes dogs might be experiencing joint pain in their old age, which can turn them cranky.

I think it's possible your dog has dementia, brain issues, or something else serious. I would take the dog to the vet and see if they can confirm whether there's something physically wrong with it, and what course of action they would recommend. I'd trust the vet's opinion on what to do, but I would be mentally prepared to put the dog to sleep on the same visit if that seems to be needed. The dog's had a decent lifespan so far. If keeping him around for a little more time means that you're gonna have to worry about bursts of unpredictable aggression for the rest of his life, that seems like a very stressful and risky option. It might sour all your happy memories of that dog, too.

Sorry about the younger dog's situation. I haven't had to rehabilitate dogs with serious fear issues and can't offer a lot of help there, but I hope someone else can.

How do you cure a puppy of seperation anxiety? My puppy goes anytime we leave the house in certain rooms. Also when we let her out she rarely poops. Would cleaning up the dog poop from the previous day help her go quicker?

Your dog probably doesn't have separation anxiety yet. It's normal for young puppies to hate being alone or with strangers. To prevent it, just get her used to being alone for a few minutes at a time. Go back in, reward for being quiet. Slowly increase the time your out of the room, start going further from the room she's in, etc. Depending on the breed, usually around the 4-6 month mark is when dogs will start to go off on their own. As long as the dog is well socialized and confident about its environment, it won't need to be by your side 24/7.

As for pooping, how often does she poop? Is she on a scheduled feeding time?
My puppy would go after every meal, and usually once in between meals, in a certain spot. It doesn't matter if you pick it up immediately or not. The dog will still be able to smell it and go back there on instinct. (the same thing applies if she is pooping inside, you'll need good pet cleaners for it).

It's alright if she doesn't always go. As long as you think she is pooping the right amount for the amount you feed her.

>Would cleaning up the dog poop from the previous day help her go quicker?

Where's the poop? If outside, no, it helps her know where poop is OK. If inside... clean that stuff up.

What is hiding in lake Vostok?

Largest Subglacial Lake on planet at 250km long. Sealed subterranean ecosystem for 15million years near hydrothermal activity. New life was expected. Russia went quiet on findings. International community confused. Someone must have more and wants to speak out.

How do you stop dogs fucking whinging?

My dog whines constantly if she wants something. And she ALWAYS wants something, usually something she can't have. She'll be chewing on a shoe or something and start pacing and whining if I take it off her. She doesn't want any other toy, just what was taken off her. You'll be eating and she'll sit there and whine, even if she has a bowl of food on the other side of the room. She'll whine wanting to go out, she'll go out for 2 minutes stand there, then whine to come back in.
She's done this since the day I adopted her so I assume her past owners either spoiled her or neglected her needs. Either way, it's fucking annoying now. I've never given into her whining but it's been 6 months and she still does it daily.

real talk it just depends on the personality and breeding of the dog.

if you dont have personal feelings for the dog, trade it for a better one at the pound.

and dont give me sass, trading-in for pound dogs is as ethical as it gets.
>>
>She'll be chewing on a shoe or something and start pacing and whining if I take it off her.
give her a different toy when you take the one she shouldn't be chewing

>she'll go out for 2 minutes stand there, then whine to come back in.
take her for a walk

ignore her when she whines when you're eating. put her in another room where she can't see you if it really bothers you.

it takes time, like weeks or months, to change behavior like this.
>>
stop doing things for her when she whines
walk her more
stop free feeding her
reward good behavior

Found cat 1 year ago now, she had some kittens and i got her spayed,

Now she is barfing brown stuff up with a bit of yellow fluid, then she wants to go eat, after which she seems okay.

Did this yesterday and today at pretty much exact same time, wtf is happening to kitty? Only happened 2 times but i am concerned now

Also no i cant really go to vet because im a broke fag and it will likely run me over 200$ if i have to get operation.

Its not after she eats and i dont think its hairball as i removed some of hair from her cathouse and gave her good brushing today.
Also not worms because there has never been worms in poop and gave her deworming when she had her kittens

Also been meowing a bit more, but not alot.

>barfing brown stuff up with a bit of yellow fluid
sounds like it might be either bile or an obstruction--how much brown stuff and how much fluid?
>Its not after she eats
sounds more like bile but still could be obstruction
> i dont think its hairball as i removed some of hair from her cathouse and gave her good brushing today
this doesn't mean anything
>Also been meowing a bit more, but not alot.
if she's in pain enough to vocalize, she's REALLY hurting.

go to the fucking vet. if you REALLY fucking can't then drop the cat off at a shelter and don't get another pet until you can financially handle it.
>>
>>2326187
>Also not worms because there has never been worms in poop and gave her deworming when she had her kittens
this also doesn't mean anything. most worms aren't big enough for you to see and one deworming will never be enough, especially when it's a "found" cat.

go to the vet. there is no other option.

I dislike them because they are too close to humans.

anyway, if you want diversity, you shouldn't be looking at mammals. insects are the ones with the most diversity
