I've made a pact with the scorpions.
Everyone knows that spiders are our allies - our strongest allies. However, it's only as of late that I've come to see that scorpions, too, are on our side in the fight against the insect threat.
Living in an area riddled with scorpions, I'd very often have to kill scorpions scurrying around my room and living room. I've always been very brutal in my treatment of them. However, as the ants and roaches have proven to be a greater menace, I've come to understand that scorpions too hate them. They kill them and I didn't understand. But now I see the truth, and we've made a pact.
I will not kill them any longer, and we shall fight together as blood brothers agains the roach and ant threat. We will die together alongside our spider brethren.
Inshallah.

These guys too but theyre way too creepy i kill em on sight. i wish i had the balls to let em live but i can not sleep knowing one of these fuckers is roaming my apartment
>grew up in the attic that was made into two large rooms
>Older brother moved out so both rooms to myself
>Mostly stay in his old room while mine was used for storage
>Notice more and more spider webs
>Make a pact that they can live there as long as they stay there
>Wake up one day and get bit by a spider that made a web by my bed
>Evict all spiders from their reservation
Keep some but keep the population in control is all I'm saying. If I waited any longer they'd be building Casinos with my taxes.
Never been on this board before but when I came here there was no ape thread?? Let's change that.
Post pictures, stories, anything interesting related to apes!
Orangutans, Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Bonobos and Gibbons welcome. NO MONKEYS!
Wondering if anyone can explain this.
So I'm sitting in my living room and I suddenly hear my cat, Milo, screeching bloody murder from outside. Of course, I get up and run outside to see what's happened. Milo comes sprinting from behind my neighbors house, growling and hissing, and runs inside. He isn't visibly injured but very worked up. He let's me pet him but is still on edge. My other cat, Percy, walks into the room and as soon as Milo sees him, he starts growling and hissing at him. Milo and Percy get along just fine so this was very odd. Percy attempts to approach him but Milo started making this screeching noise that I've never heard him make before. Percy backed off but eventually tried to approach him multiple other times but received the same response. I separated the two in different rooms but even if Percy approaches the door to the room Milo is in, Milo flips his shit. I find it really odd that Milo acts fine when I approach him but freaks out when Percy does. Anyone have an answer for this?

All I see is Asia and I don't even have to read the reasoning behind it.
My landlord won't let us have a dog, and I'm allergic to cats. So I bought one of these. It's the size of a frisbee.
I made a video about exotic praying mantises as pets and how to take care of them.
https://youtu.be/tIwxxrgS-kk
I wish they had longer lifespans
I kept them for a while and had fun with them
>>2336429
Fuck you I want one of these now
But I'm questioning whether or not my boyfriend would find it a bit creepy or weird. What kind of reactions have you gotten from normies when you tell them you have praying mantises as pets?
Does anyoen like my moth?

i'm not saying that he's competent but to play devils advocate he is most likely talking about how dogs react to body language and the tone of your voice and just uses words that he thinks set him apart from other trainers and sound less dry.
How do we know animals experience happiness or other emotions.
I'm not really skeptical that they do, but I'm just curious.

my granny has four doggos and she may be taking radioactive iodine for Hyperthyroidism
those doggos are rather clingy and have separation anxiety, I can't find a place to take care of dogs for a week in my country.
Please tell me that radioactive idoine won't cause severe physical problems to the dogs, will it drastically increase chance of having cancer?
i have no clue what im talking about but..
in hs science class the teacher told us he had a radioactive tube of something in his prostate
the doctors said dont bop your grandkids on your lap for awhile
wouldl probably cause cancer in 15 years...how long do they expect to live?
>>2336077
three of those dogs are pretty young
one poddle is about 3~4(or5?) years old
another poddle is over 7(or9?) years old< we took this one from an abusive owner
the other two are unknown mixed-breed, they are around 2~3
probably no worse than the vaccines they've been given
or an airplane ride
Shit guys, I think I killed a living being or something.
Suddenly I feel very guilty and need to get this off my chest.
>two days ago
>very hungry
>go into a big-ass store
>store has own bakery
>the smell is astonishing
>buy a big hunk of bread
>go to mcd afterwards
>not feeling like eating this bread
>notice the bread is on the verge of spoilage
>whatever, I'll give it to the birds or something
>be living on 8th floor
>the window is open
>no people ever walking under the windows on my side of the building
>decide, fuck it, I'm too lazy
>throw the whole fucking bread out of the window
>"they will bite off a piece if they need one"
>hear LOUD CROW NOISES
>oh shit
>check it out
>I think I hit the fucker in the head from the 8th floor
>oh god, he has convulsions
>minutes later, he dies
I now feel very bad and guilty.
Just needed to get that off my chest.
Crows are my favorite birds, I think, they're so cool. Now I just don't know what to do.
>bird didn't notice the bread flying down at him at mach speed
The world is a cruel place, my friend. Your intentions were good, that's what matters.
I must say though, that was natural selection at its fucking finest.
>>2336056
Still fucking sad.
Maybe it didn't notice because it hit it from above?
>>2336056
What I want to know is how the other crows in the area will react.
It's known that crows can communicate with each other and will learn of deaths of crows, the cause of those deaths, and sometimes even come together to morn. Problem is that this is such a freak incident I can't imagine another crow being able to figure out what happened, let alone how to use that information to avoid it happening again. At best, they might simply avoid the area around that apartment.
Of course it's possible that crow was able to communicate something before he died, Even so I doubt even he saw where it came from, so I can't imagine the others blaming you for it (crows are capable of recognizing particular individuals as "harmful"). The logical thing would be for them not to change behaviors at all since it was just a freak accident.
Does anybody have any experience with growing mangrove trees? Just ordered like 15 saplings and I've never grown anything more than a cactus you guys. What the fuck am I doing.
>>2336026
Don't mangroves take years to grow? I'm just basing this off how slowly they grew by where I used to live.
>>2336026
I did my senior research in college on mangrove crabs and how they contribute to overall mangrove health.
they're tough plants. Salinity has to be just right and there are nitrogen fixing bacteria around the roots. Go for it, but they are actively trying to restore mangroves in florida because they can be so temperamental. Very slow growers as well. If you can manage a way to get them to grow quickly you could make some real money.
what the fuck do you even want to do with that many mangrove trees, you tard?
Do you even know what the fuck you have? You can't just say "mangrove tree" because there's so much shit just called mangrove and they are all particular in their own ways.
Sort yourself out.
Alright nerds. I know you guys like animals, but you're also the people to go to for destroying them. I have a mouse problem. Its still winter and these little bastards are getting into my downstairs garage and subsequent other rooms as a result. I know all the obvious basic tips like setting traps, the right bait, and cleaning the place out but its not enough. I need a fortress to defend against these heathens. How can I somehow seal this garage and make it a base of operations to defeat these invaders?
>>2335947
Did you already try calling them nerds?
>>2335948
Yes they don't respond to name calling. I need a better strategy.
Like I said I have been trying to clear out the garage and maintain open spaces, but I can't exactly just not have things in my garage and boiler room type area. Theres obviously no food around so I am not sure why they are even bothering. Theres probably not any good building material either that comes to mind. Is there some kind of lining I can get for older garage doors, and doors with lots of space under them?

Most pets are good pets that's why they're called pets.
Hamsters suck though.
