Just go for a front lobe lobotomy and then you never feel fear again.
>>
Dogs are harmless, anon. They're our friends.
>>
>>2343788
Or you could just work to overcome your irrational fear.
But I'm sure that's just too hard, and instead of fixing your problem you can just hang a label on it and say things like "I can't".
Regardless, OPs a fag

Hello,

I have autism and I want a pet. What is a good pet for someone like me?

I don't know much about autism, but you'd need something that can adapt to a routine, yes? Dogs and cats can do that. If you want a less needy pet, maybe a reptile or amphibian.

Hi /an/
I have a question about pets.
I had this high energy puppy and once he discovered the neighborshouse, I could never keep him nearby without him running to their place.
One day, after he ran over to their house while we were walking to my car to go for a ride. they called and asked if they could keep him. So i went over to meet them and when I went to leave with the dog he laid down at the door and didnt want to leave. The owner said he'd get him fixed and obedience lessons. So I said I would drop him off the next day. This was a month ago, and today I got a call from someone saying the found the dog after he jumped out in front of the car and almost hit him.
he's still not fixed, hasn't had any obedience training that I can tell, and has the same collar he had with my number on it from a month ago.

what do i do? do i keep him? do i give him back? How can i tell if they will be good caretakers of this animal

>>
Take him back, and if they ask for him, simply tell them it seems like thet haven't made any effort to do what they said they were going to do.

He's still technically your dog if he has your name on the collar and they haven't taken him to the vet yet..
>>
>>2350088
You're a shit owner, and so are they.
Find a better family for your dog.
If you're capable of making that little effort for him, that is.
>>
Keep your dog and never give him away again what the fuck is wrong with you

Every time I feed my dog, he bites my hands. I started locking him in his travel cage while I put his food out, but then he'd bite my legs every time I let him back out. Now, when I come home he growls and barks and bites at me. I put him in the backyard and just throw his food over the fence.

I just want a dog I can hang out with, but my legs and hands are so sore, I can't take another bite. I have to work with my hands on computers and I just can't when they're bit.

How big is your dog?

If he's not some massive fucker thats gonna maul you, then try this.

Take the dog on a long walk or let it swim somewhere if you can. When you are done , and before the dog has much time to recover alot of energy, get the dog food out. Put on some good gloves that allow you to be nimble but also take a few bites. Slowly hand ceed the dog one piece at a time and lose your fist around the piece of food if hr shows any signs of agression. DO NOT let him have ANYTHING unless he is acting calm.

Hand feed him his meals like this from now on until he becomes more chill and you can start working on other methods.

Look up kikopup on youtube and resource guarding.

Also try this:

Some people claim wolves and dogs are the exact same species, so is it right to compare that situation to civilized humans (example: people who live in the USA, Europe, etc) vs Uncontacted peoples? We are all technically humans, but uncontacted people behave very differently.

>Some people claim wolves and dogs are the exact same species
They are by definition of species as is domesticated pig and wild boars
They considered different subspieces, something that theoretically apply to Uncontacted peoples although this definition is very ambiguous
>>
There's no reason to compare species just for being species within the same genus and you go all out to do it between different ones. What is your reasoning? It's not a decimal metric system of some sort, you can't do it. Certain species are pretty much genus incarnate and sit here for ages while another ones keep developing, differently, and all on different paces. You judge the species like a bunch of points placed on the 2d circle line, all within the same reach from the center, genus. Meanwhile it's more like a deformed 3d cone, or even fucked up sphere full of random holes, and all genus cones are different in shape and size.
Everything past genus is a total word flinging, but you need to know a lot to join the fun.
>>
A lot of people just don't understand the concept of a common ancestor. Dogs are not the same as wolves, nor did humans domesticate wolves into dogs. They both evolved from the same ancestor not that long ago, and while they remain similar enough to lump them together as a species, they have diverged in many ways, enough to make a distinction between them.

It's the same with humans. There's groups of humans that have been isolated or otherwise gone their own ways for much longer than dogs and wolves have, but they can still crossbreed with other humans, and are more “human” than anything else.

Basically, if it can have viable, fertile offspring together, it's the same species. Any differentiation that goes deeper than that is much harder to define. It's still very much possible to divide species into further sub-species/races by tracing their ancestries, comparing their features, and creating cluster analyses of their genetic relatedness—but these are all relative, and which (real, measurable) criteria you choose to delimit your categories is somewhat arbitrary.

This is Calico cat.

>move into my first apartment
>about a month, accidentally break a bottom window I was leaning against
>weeks pass
>One day, come home from work to find this calico cat in my in my living room sitting crouched on the edge of my sofa, staring at me blankly. It was not my cat, and I had certainly not seen said creature in the neighborhood.
>quiet startled, Calico cat and I met, it was a very friendly kitty, soft and well fed, I could tell this cat was cared for!
>Calico is very nice and I pet calico, calico sniffs around, but I can tell this kitty has been in my apartment a bit already and seems comfortable.
>no poo pee or anything and kitty is nice so I don't bother kitty, just let her chill w/me while i play vidya, clean ect.
>the first night i went to work patching the hole in my window, I didn't want to get charged by my apartments for the damage, so i figured I may as well use this glass table piece to cover it
>calico pops in my head, I wanted to see that kitty again!
>clear all glass debrees ect wanted to make it safe

so, me and my bf finally are moving out
we are going to rent a flat and we are thinking about buying a dog as well
we really like the doge (lol, I know it's not the real name)
online they say that it's not very appropriate for flats but I actually know a girl who owns one and she says it rarely barks
so I don't see how it could annoy the neighbors
of course we would take it two times a days outside for.. you know what, lol
do any of you own a Shiba? is it quiet as my friend says? it's important that it doesn't bark and damage furniture or we'll be in troubles lol

Don't, unless you two can see yourselves living together for a long time. You know what I mean.

Why are you getting a meme breed? Get a puppy mutt, they're healthier usually, cheaper and can love you all the same. Those pedigree dogs get bought for sure but most of the stray puppies get put down without a chance to even enjoy life.
If you can train a stray, it'll turn our just like any other dog
