Just got this guy (was pretty easy because he was already in the drawer I use for leftover containers though.) How do you guys normally dispose of captured mosquitos/spiders/other pests?
>>2359009
Drinking glass.
Yeah, I'm boring. Fuck off.
>>2359009
If it was in your home it's from around and spiders are good at finding their way back in, so your best bet it's to release it very far away.
Giving that you dont want it death.
Put it outside. It will continue to look for a mate inside your walls feeding on the population of bugs in your home.
When you see a spider in the open in its traveling for a reason. But may be hard to retrace his steps outside the room into the walls
When a gorillabro learns sign language does he actually understand what's he's doing?
Like does the gorillabro ever bring up his own ideas?
>>2357290
I think that one grey parrot is the only animal to ever ask a question.
yes, gorillas are as smart as fairly dumb humans
they can sign in simple sentences and even have a sense of humor
they are also aware that they are gorillas and are something different from humans
>>2357348
This makes me sad knowing they're kept in zoos, most in fairly small enclosures.
Is it dumb for me to feel bad about that

garden center got mantis eggs in finally, time to release a bazillion into my yard again this year

Garden centers sell mantises?
I knew they sold ladybugs, but not mantids.
Silly animal pictures thread
My 17 year-old Collie dog sometimes needs carprofen because he gets constipated and can't stand on his hindlegs without help.
But recently he's stopped wanting to take it, and has caught onto me smearing it with whip cheese. If I try to open his mouth I'm afraid I will overstrain his muscles and damage his jaws (or worse, if he were to suddenly give way somehow). But his front teeth are freaking sharp and strong. He would bite through my fingers if I try to wiggle it open.
tl;dr What can I smear on it for next time? I managed this time by slipping it in with his tongue while he was licking the whip cheese off his lips.

Maybe try wrapping it in some lunch meat or smear it with peanut butter?
Though I'm not sure the peanut butter would really work.
I once came across a thing specifically do make it easier to give pets pills. It was some sort of dough sausage where you would cut of a little bit, and knead it over the pill, and then give the entire thing to your pet. maybe you can look into something like that.
My dog has 4 oral medications per day at the moment. He's a big dog with very strong jaws and could wreck me if he wanted. I never force his mouth open or try to shove pills to the back of his throat because he's too strong. He's also a wily bastard and cottoned on to the pills hidden in various food items years ago.
There's a gap in their teeth, just behind the canines.
You peel open the lip on one side, slip the pill behind the tooth gap, and make sure he doesn't spit the medication out. This can be done by gently tipping his head upwards, holding his muzzle closed (without too much pressure, you don't want him to panic!) and scratching his throat. When he licks his nose, it's gone down.
My dog has a verbal cue for swallowing medicine, because he's been taking it for such a long time.
What is this puppy breath meme everyone talks about? Every puppy who's gotten their face in my face smells like they literally just ate their own shit.
Is this like the toxoplasmosis affecting cat owners brains and making them think their cats smell good? Because cats usually smell pretty good or like nothing to me unless they live in a filthy house where the owners don't clean anything. But puppy breath has always smelled like fermented ass to me.
My dogs breath smells of fish
>>2361764
You are sniffing puppies that are too old. The "pleasant" puppy breath is from pups that haven't been weaned yet. It's still nasty to me, but people that have kids or like infants seem to enjoy it.
>You are sniffing puppies that are too old.
I feel like we should make a banner out of this phrase.
>survives a mass extinction event
>evolves into a species that fucks up the planet and chains mass extinction events
What the fuck
>>2361402
I know, right?
*high five*
>>2361402
Galactus on a smaller scale.
>>2361402
I can garuntee you Purgatorius would give zero fucks as long as they weren't part of the mass extinction. They sure as hell wouldn't have individuals protesting for the environment or posting about it on forums.
Do you meow back at your cat? Do you have meowing 'conversations' with them?
I do. Sometimes I just meow for no reason at her.
God cat people really are crazy
I used to do it but he's deaf now
>>2361124
How loud did you meow?!
I coo at my pigeons and they coo back.
Post only the most rainbowy animals nature has to offer.

I adopted this little nugget last year in June from the SPCA. He just turned 1 on the 13th.
Was always curious as to what kind of breed he is. I am almost certain he is just a domestic short hair. But I am curious to what others think!

Looks like a Korat to me, my last cat was one. Although, the ears do look a little pointy to be one.
>>2360589
Yep, seems to be a chubby Korat.
confirmed korat, their eyes turn green as they get older. your cat is halfway through transformation.
This motherfucker wanted to commit a suicide by jumping naked into the lion pen.
Instead of letting this moron die they killed two endangered lions to save him.
What the fuck is this shit? Is human life always more precious than the life of an endangered species? The guy was obviously asking for it.

>Is human life always more precious than the life of an endangered species?
Yes pretty much. But can you really blame them? All they knew was the lions were currently attacking a man and had to act fast and act accordingly.
Also, iirc, the suicidal thing was a myth. I think the man had mental issues and was having some kind of psychotic episode.

He was still asking for it. Lions did nothing wrong.
>>2360332
No I'm not saying they did either. I don't think you can really say any party here should shoulder the blame. It was an unfortunate set of circumstances with no good outcome, a delima, but I fully understand and agree with the staff's actions.
roommate has one and I am not exaggerating when I say it is the worst dogs I've ever been around (excluding small yappers)
I do. I had one as a teen and bought my own as an adult.
They are very high energy and need strict training, so they're no good for lazy faggots like you.
Mine shits on command.
>>2359727
My dog is like 12.5% boxer or lower and she's very pleasant all around..What happened?
>>2359728
>no good for lazy faggots like you.
you mean unsuspecting roommates? in no way is it on me if he's undisciplined
also i only ever see niggers own these slobbery, unloving shits
When it comes to insects, are you a scooper or a smasher?
Do you carefully scoop them up and set them outside where nothing bad will ever happen or do you just deliver swift judgement to teach the rest a lesson?
Screamers not welcome. Take some responsibility.
>>2358827
I do my best to get them outside if they're meant to be in this ecosystem or put them in the freezer if they're invasive.

SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND
How does it feel to know that some shitty bird has, and probably will continue to outlive our beloved cats and dogs?
>>2358640
It's whatever, the local zoo has a tortoise that's been alive since the 1940s. My milksnake has outlived 2 dogs.
>>2358640
>probably will continue to outlive our beloved cats
my cat is 23
He has dementia and even got thrown around by a malamute and has no signs of stopping.
>>2358640
>beloved cats and dogs?
That's a matter of perspective, OP. I for one look down upon lowly dog and cat owners. Filthy beasts of the ground they are. Never as worthy of awe as the regal beasts of the sea and skies.
>see video of animals of different species getting along

This, also:
>humans are the only species that destroys the environment ;_;
Yes, lions don't frack because of their deeply held conservationist beliefs.
>>2358601
Dumb ass should go hug a crocodile or a bear if they want to get along with other animals
>>2358610
Humans do the most damage to the environment though.
