So tell me /an/, what's the best guard dog breed to protect your land and home?
I already asked this from /k/ couple days ago and their response was mainly German shepherd and Belgian Malinois. Someone also suggested Boerboel and Dogo Argentino since they were basically developed to protect farms and large land areas.
Does /an/ have anything to add?
>>2362164
Most of the time watch or guard dogs act as deterrents OP, so the biggest baddest looking dog gets the job done. Pit bulls, Mastiffs, Boerboels, Doggo Argentino's, etc all get the job done. German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois are good but make sure not to get any roach-back GSD's.
I personally have one of pic related, a male Canaan Dog. Excellent at guarding since they don't let their guard down around strangers ever, even if fed. Problem is that you'll have to work extensively on socializing if you ever want to have visitors around on a regular basis.

Forget the dog

>even if fed
what if I feed them poison?
first rule of guard dogs-
train them not to eat strange food
It's Hilter's birthday. Hitler loved animals. Let's celebrate Hitler's birthday by posting nazi animals.

This shark looks fucking badass. What could cause it this kind of scars, though? It doesn't look like something another shark did with its teeth.
He's an emo and cuts himself with knives
>>2360964
Sharks with prehensile hands would be really fucking terrifying.
>>2360963
Probably seals etc. that bite back. Or scraping against rocks.
What's the most intimidating dog breed that's good for guarding my home and yard? Must be able to make friends with my golden retriever. I know that's mostly socialization, but I still don't want a breed that's going to throw some autistic shitfit.
What do you want it for? Just to look scary? Or do you want it to also be aggressive?
Probably an Ovcharka or Tibetan Mastiff
Enjoy getting killed by your dog
>>2359090
Boerboel. Big, strong, scary, aggressive when need be, friendly otherwise. Tibetan in cold climate, never get an ovcharka. If you only own a retriever, it's too much dog for you.
Post things that make you go REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Anyone remember the key chain turtles? My brother went to china town and bought two of them to open them up. I don't see them in America much anymore though
>>2354723
the fuck is that?
>>2354724
They are baby turtles and baby lizards put in water with nutrients in it to keep them alive a little longer. They were used as key chains, they used to be like $2 a pop or something. People (chinks) would buy them and wear it as a key chain or whatever until they died. In America I think people mostly bought them, opened them up and then let them die in their critter carrier.

hey guys i posted here once like a couple years ago with a picture of a bird i saw and i asked what it was and you guys responded right away with the right answer and i just wanted to say thanks for being so helpful that one time this is a good board
This board has some good folks. I remember when my dog passed away and I posted on /an/, the response and sympathy really helped.
What kind of bird was it?
I'm gonna jump in with my own post because I've been meaning to make a thread along similar lines.
A few months back or so someone made a thread saying something about how animals don't have weekends or vacations; they work every day of their lives to put food on the table and keep surviving.
At the time I thought it was a stupid thread, and I made a comment pointing out that it was stupid because my pets don't work any day of their lives and even if they did animals don't have tables to put food on.
But I got to thinking about that thread later on. I'm just starting my career and my life as an adult, and it had been really bothering me how little free time I seemed to have. Every day seemed to be completely consumed with work; I would work, come home, eat dinner, and barely had any time to myself before I had to start getting ready for the next day of work and get to bed. It seemed unfair to me that I only really got to enjoy myself on weekends: was I really only going to live my life for 2 days out of the week? Was that worth it? What kind of life is it for me to live if I only get 2/7 of it doing what I enjoy, what I do for myself? It seeded a very existential sort of dread in me about my life would mean for me.

How do I look after this cunt then? His names gek by the way. TOP GEK
Owning one of these is a felony.

>>2363674
Cute cat 10/10 what's his name
>punches and kicks your dog
what's the matter? i'm just being dominant pack leader, ese
If I were to punch him and break his nose, will I be his dominant pack leader?
hes never done this and you mentally ill peta fags get up in arms over anything remotely physical being done to an agressive dog in order to correct its behavior
>>2363378
>I don't fucking know anything so I'll quote people who talk fancy
>>2363379
he does punch and kick dogs in the show though
I found some mushrooms growing in my peace lilly pot. I water it with aquarium water, and I just moved it to this continer about a week/two weeks ago. There weren't any mushrooms inthere then.
Should I let them grow, or is it dangerous? Nothing would be eating them, but this plant is in my room...
>>2363328
if you're paranoid pluck the mushrooms out before the caps open.
it'll stop eventually.
They won't hurt your lilly. Just leave them alone.
>go walking
>someone has a their pet chihuahua, off leash in their fenceless yard
>it follows me half-way down the road barking at me the entire time before I eventually chase it off
Why would someone do this? What's stopping people from kidnapping it or smashing its head into the pavement?
>>2363317
Laziness. It's the root of all free-roaming-allowing pet owners
>>2363317
Laws and cameras might be stopping that from happening.
>>2363321
be the owners are still essentially inviting that to happen.
Hello /an/
My wife and I just got our first puppy today, and beautiful female German shepard. I'm looking for any and all advice you can give. She is approximately 9 weeks old.
Best way to kennel and potty train her?
Pic related, her name is sam.
>>2363262
>needs to ask about these things
I shall pray for her hips.
>>2363269
I'm well aware of possible hip issues, and plan on getting her started on vitamins asap while she grows.
Guess this isnt the place to ask for advice considering your condescending tone, fuck boy.
Who was in the right here?

What kind of a shitty "zoo" is this

The baboons can defend themselves better against rape than the Swedes do.

>those fags laughing
I wish the fence broke and they went after the shitbags laughing at them.
This zoo looks like a shithole.
