what can I get for free at petco if I ask? When do yall throw away the extra shit that doesnt sell?
>>2362147
All the stuff that we don't sell gets donated to animal shelters, but we throw out cracked tanks, or like if someone returns a toy that's slightly ripped but you can still sew it. Trash is usually taken out on Sundays but employees usually take the good stuff
>>2362143
Hi Petco. I just bought a ferret and got a second one free because they had too many ferrets in the enclosure. Just wanted to say thanks. I love ferrets.
Why should I buy anything from your marine tanks when it's obvious all your fish have ich? Do you guys even try to treat?
Caught this pidger with PMV yesterday. Got any names for him?

/herp/ reptile classifieds for finding breeders of various scaled and sundry creatures
>kingsnake.com
>faunaclassifieds.com
>reptilescanada.com (Canadian breeders)
>Also check to see if there are any annual reptile shows/expos in your area as these are good places to find good animals from good breeders at partial discount
/herp/ officially official all purpose care sheet of wonder and magic
>sand a shit
>use a thermostat
>read all the caresheets
>set up your tank before you get your herp
>regulate temps & humidity levels prior to herp arrival
>do not fuck with (handle) your herp for at least 7 days after bringing it home and ideally wait until herp has eaten at least one meal (for snakes), two meals for lizards, frogs, etc.
>PVC tanks are way better for most applications and worth the extra money
>it is best to avoid chain pet stores when looking to purchase live animals as mass breeder suppliers are not especially careful about health and sound genetics... it often saves you money long term to spend a little extra up front to get a healthy animal
>Jump Start (formerly Hydrofarm) thermostat is a good basic and inexpensive thermostat for regulating ceramic heat emitters and under tank heaters (Amazon sells it)
>if you want something more advanced for temperature control, look at Herpstat products
>>2355881
recommend thermostat brands please
>>2355890
if you want a simple on/off one that gets the job done look for Jumpstart
otherwise there's Herpstat, and I believe one other that escapes me right now.
Are these pretty easy to keep? I heard theyre simple but id like someone with experience to tell me whats up with them
why are bivalves not vegetarian friendly but fungi are?
Because scallops are still in the animal kingdom, so it's a crime to eat them even if they are too primative to feel pain. A portabella though is a ok because it's a fungus.
Veggies are pedantic fucks.
>>2367176
So its just pain? Fungi are lifeforms also, and they are killed, their line ended.
By this logic, it would be okay to eat beef if the cattle were anesthetized before slaughter.
I am not OP, btw. I was just scrolling by and thought the q & a was interesting.
>>2367177
Well I mean, by that logic vegetarians couldn't eat plants either because they are a "life form".
It's just animals. Animal kingdom = off limits for a strict vegetarian
I'm trying to 3D model some cat paws, but I don't have any good reference imagery; it's hard finding any without fur.
Pic related is all I have, and it's another 3D model that I can't be sure of the accuracy of, not to mention that they're dog paws.
Also, anyone got any tips for good paw topology?
try googling "sphynx cat paws" if you haven't already. there's a few good images for reference
>>2367087
Well, they're hairless, but I'm not seeing any reference images.
Plus, they've got heaps of extra skin.
>>2367090
really? i saw a few that might be good. these won't work?
What happend to him anyway?
Broccoli poisoning, very tragic.
Broccoli overdose, very tragic.
Broccoli suppository, very tragic.
Animals are becoming sentient.
This bird here is displaying his dominance by:
>1- Displaying dead prey, affectively assuring you it's an efficient predator
>2-Putting it's leg down, showing it's muscular legs, while also displaying balance and strenght keeping itself in place while only using one of it's legs to balance
>3-This particular bird is also displaying wealth, showing us it's ownership of the building behind it
I give the human race 200 years until another species becomes the ultimate predator.
>>2366178
In all seriousness there was this one eagle in Glendale that just straight up decided that drones are no bueno and started wrecking the shit out of any drones that it happens to see, and even decorates his nest with the rotors he plucks out.
Almost like trophy kills.
I'm actually okay with a world dominated by birds.
>>2366178
>affectively
>it's
>it chooses to show balance
>it understands ownership
if these birds take over your retarded ass is going first.
Anyone know what kind of fish this is?
>>2365194
It's a bichir. Why is it in a fucking jar?
And I just saw that it's not your image.
>>2365195
Thank you
Stingrays are cool. Check this one I found.
Fuck sting rays
>>2364733
He tried and the point was taken.
>>2364733
Stingrays are peaceful. It was his fault for fucking with them. Stop spreading this anti-stingray propaganda.
>watering my mom's plants
>notice FOUR caterpillars over the place
>and they're the ugly nigger ones who probably turn into moths
>"whatever, they're pests"
>kill them all
>come back to my room
>after a few minutes a butterfly lands on my window
Is there a deeper meaning to this experience? How do I pay my debts to the caterpillar god?
>>2363804
There is only one way out, anon. Commit sudoku and offer your body to the caterpillars
>>2363808
Kek
Seriously though, I don't know what's wrong with you autismo fucks but if an insect is outside you don't have to kill it
>>2363812
What is the purpose of hairy caterpillars in life? They turn into ugly moths and birds can't even eat them. They should just die.
Would a pack of doggos raised in an urban area be able to survive on their own if they were dropped into the middle of a forrest?
No.
They'd die out pretty quickly. Even if they weren't raised in an urban area.
Unless someone brought them dog chow, they would fucking die.
Dogs aren't wolves, they can't hunt down big game.
>>2361867
>implying they wouldn't be able to track down the scent of a freshly dead deer within four hours to scavenge from
