they're innocent like real children. when they get older, their gender decides how they act. the women are gentle and sociable (mostly) and the men are solitary and tend to have bouts of testosterone-fueled ragefests.

Let's say I'm hitchhiking around, befriend a doggo on the street, and bring him with me. What are the dangers of bringing it with me across the world?
16 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>>2374993
the dangers? well depending where you go your dog will have to be quarantined sometime up to 3 months
>>
>>2375030
This. You can't just bring a dog on the plane, or shove them in cargo. Different countries have different restrictions, mostly taking weeks or months when it comes to quarantine. Some countries won't allow it all.

Even with a private jet, they'll find out and you'll be fucked. Johnny Depp got canned for that.
>>
>>2375033

Wait a tick. I thought getting a vet to give it a clean bill of health a week before travel and micro-chipping it bypassed the quarantine.

We have a greyhound park near me so I know many people who do this. Greyhounds so just so big, i live in an apartment so it's easier to have a small dog.

It's ant flying/fucking season here in CA, so I was planning on wandering around and seeing if I can snag any mated queens. Been wanting to start my own colony for a long while, and we're spoiled for choice when it comes to species here.

>your ancestors spent ten's of thousands of years breeding the perfect pets, cats that are affectionate and keep your home free of pests and dogs which protect your family when you're not around
>you insist on getting some weird shit pet like a fox or a rabbit or an ugly bug or emotionless fish that are all useless

They did a piss poor job with the cat thing if that was their intention.
>>
It's bait, but practically no average person has actual uses for most dog breeds, and any of the "pest control" cats do is entirely useless if you just don't live in some shithole hoarder house and take basic measures to keep pests away.

I'm much happier with my opossums than I would be some neurotic dog going nuts because I don't have time to mentally stimulate it all day.

dog and cat combo is good

dont get a shit dog then, its all about getting one thats not deformed for looks and non violent.

/herp/ reptile classifieds for finding breeders of various scaled and sundry creatures

>kingsnake.com
>faunaclassifieds.com
>reptilescanada.com (Canadian breeders)
>Also check to see if there are any annual reptile shows/expos in your area as these are good places to find good animals from good breeders at partial discount

/herp/ officially official all purpose care sheet of wonder and magic

>sand a shit
>use a thermostat
>read all the caresheets
>set up your tank before you get your herp
>regulate temps & humidity levels prior to herp arrival
>do not fuck with (handle) your herp for at least 7 days after bringing it home and ideally wait until herp has eaten at least one meal (for snakes), two meals for lizards, frogs, etc.
>PVC tanks are way better for most applications and worth the extra money
>it is best to avoid chain pet stores when looking to purchase live animals as mass breeder suppliers are not especially careful about health and sound genetics... it often saves you money long term to spend a little extra up front to get a healthy animal

>Jump Start (formerly Hydrofarm) thermostat is a good basic and inexpensive thermostat for regulating ceramic heat emitters and under tank heaters (Amazon sells it)
>if you want something more advanced for temperature control, look at Herpstat products

Hard to tell but it almost looks like a tick.
>>
It was big as my thumb and I'm a grown ass man! Do ticks get that big bleeding a brown color??

This is my first cat. I've read that for orange tabbies it's normal to get black spots, but is it gonna get worse? He's almost 4 years old now and those spots look ugly af, specially the one on the eye. He has more on the gums.

Also he's 100% indoors so I doubt it's cancer.

Dog stiff.
Cat loose.

Cat is actually a liquid
>>
>>2377342
Flexible spines. It's the reason why cats are so flexible.

A great demonstration of this is watching how a cheetah runs in slow motion.
