No. It is, however, weird to get your picture taken with your cat.

Not unless you give the cat a human woman's name, like Sarah or Jennifer.

If your dog's breed is in the top ten, it's accurate, if it isn't, it's not accurate.
Personally, it's accurate. My golden's smart and learns fast. She's lazy though, if she doesn't manage something she'll quickly look at me for help.

I am somewhat biased but a dog following instructions like a robot isnt nessacerily intelligent as it is biddable.

Mastiffs are handler sensitive but will take over if they sense a threat, obeying you is not as important as your safety to them. If you own a working line Mastiff it is important you do not set the dog up for failure in these situations be it an unwarranted bite or its own self sacrifice.

If a Mastiff is asleep in your childs bedroom and somebody attempts to gain entry through the window with malice on their mind I dont think you would be left with the impression the dog was stupid by any stretch.

>Coren defines three aspects of dog intelligence in the book: instinctive intelligence, adaptive intelligence, and working and obedience intelligence.[6] Instinctive intelligence refers to a dog's ability to perform the tasks it was bred for, such as herding, pointing, fetching, guarding, or supplying companionship.[6] Adaptive intelligence refers to a dog's ability to solve problems on its own.[6] Working and obedience intelligence refers to a dog's ability to learn from humans.[6]

I want to start by saying that I don't condone animal fighting or things of that nature and this is not a cat hate thread. I'm simply curious.
Besides dogs and roosters, I don't hear of many other domesticated animals being fought for sport or gambling purposes. I assume that's because they view the animal as plentiful, expendable, and easily discarded. Though that could be said about a lot of animals. For instance, why not cats?
They're so much more plentiful, by unfortunate circumstance, that their bodies are accepted/processed by most garbage facilities. I've toured my local facility 3 times, dead cats every time, and they will incinerate the bodies with 0 fucks. Only living cats/kittens get removed (hopefully) before being processed.
Or another animal whose bodies are expected in the trash? Like squirrels?

>I assume that's because they view the animal as plentiful, expendable, and easily discarded
It's because both dogs and rooster are smart enough to be trained easily to do anything, including fucking up another dog/rooster.

Goats.
>Meat
>Milk
>Fur
>Eat anything
>Fast breeders and often twins/triplets

For meat, fur and milk depends on the breed but you can still eat or milk a non-dairy or meat goat. Cashmere/angora goat fur can fetch a nice penny.

Chickens
>Cheap to feed
>Easy to house
>Meat
>Eggs

Cattle require much more in terms of feed and space. Not worth it unless you rather them as pets or have the space and market for commerical farming.

Throw in rabbits and you have the best bang-for-your-buck/acreage animals, though I'd suggest looking at ducks over chickens.

Ducks:
>More weather tolerant
>More disease-resistant
>Less aggressive and broody
>Good pest control while being easier on a lawn
>Generally quieter
>Produce good meat and eggs
>Are adorable

Just be very sure about containment. Goats are notorious for testing the limits of their pens, rabbits obviously jump and burrow, and basically every local predator will come after your poultry in one way or another.
>>
>>2383242
Yeah, rabbits are good too. Breed fast, cheap to house and feed. Rabbit meat isn't good for you unless you're supplementing it with other food too due to how lean it is but rex or angora rabbit fur can fetch a nice price too. Especially angora but you actually have to brush and maintain their coats.

I found these two huge, brown insect larvae in Michigan. I've spent a while on Google and I can't figure out what they are. They're about 3-4 inches long and have lots of small spines on their abdomens. They also curl up into balls when provoked. I know the photo's shit, but they're in a three pound coffee can if that's any indicator of size.

Also, I guess post other animals and plants that you want identified.

Hi /an/,
I want a fucking fish.
I've never looked after an animal before but I think owning a fish would be cool.
What should I know about looking after fish? Preferably a low maintenance, weird looking one.

Optionally, I would like a carnivore fish, or fish that I can feed other smaller fish. That would be crazy.

I love horrible, ugly looking fish.
Pic related is my dream fish, the goblin shark, that I would adopt if I was rich enough to own an aquarium that could sufficiently look after this beast.

Thanks! :-)

I've also got a big fucking bush that attracts butterflies of all types.

I do at a park near my house. I've gotten really depressed lately and have sort of given up on expecting any value to come from it though. I still keep introducing native plants and stuff though.

How do you take care of a dog and work full time? I want a dog desperately, I have all my life and I know i'd give it all the love and attention I could, but I work full time and I'd feel awful about leaving it alone for eight hours a day... Do you guys have any advice? Should I just give up and not get a dog?

>>
>it's alone for 8 hours

Then get 2-3 dogs, problem solved.
>>
>>2382528
crate the animal. just don't use the crate as a punishment. when a dog is alone it sleeps most of the time anyway, so what difference does it make if its in a crate or not?

You would hardly be the first person to get a dog with a full time job.

Or get a cat. Cats don't give a shit, they're just happy to be there
