How do we feel about mosquito's?
if they stay out of my way I'll let them drop dead of natural causes
not like bottleflies who force me to drop whatever I'm doing to slaughter their annoying asses
Mosquitos are the only thing that deserve a genocide to be honest
What I always wonder is why some billionaire doesn't devote his time and fortune exterminating mosquitos. That'd definitely make the world a better place

My son found this slug yesterday. It has a hole in the right side of its "head". Thought you might find it interesting
>>2436681
That's the pneumostome, it's like a big nostril. Thanks for showing us though, buddy.
Here we have an explanation on the "hole"The pneumostome (or breathing pore) is a feature (the respiratory opening) of the external body anatomy of an air-breathing land slug or land snail. It is a part of the respiratory system of gastropods.
It is an opening in the right side of the mantle of a stylommatophoran snail or slug. Air enters through the pneumostome into the animal's single lung, the air-filled mantle cavity. Inside the mantle cavity the animal has a highly vascularized area of tissue that functions as a lung.
The pneumostome is often much easier to see in slugs than in snails, because of the absence of a shell which can often block the view of this area. In a land slug, when the pneumostome is wide open, it is usually very clearly visible on the right side of the animal. However, the position of the pneumostome is often not at all easy to discern when this orifice is completely closed.
The pneumostome opens and closes in a cyclical manner. The frequency of pneumostome closing and opening is typically less than 0.5 closures per minute in fully hydrated slugs and snails. The rate of closures per minute increases the more dehydrated the slug is.

Can anyone tell me what kind of kitten this is?

Chicken farming general.
I want to keep poulet the bresse in a mobile den. I do it for the meat, eggs are a by product.
Feel welcome to share your experiences.

Thanks senpai, but no.
I hate these homegarden threads. Its too many different subjects crammed in one thread, and there is rarely a professional engaging in the talks.

I thought the homegrowmen thread was all plants anyway.

At first I would be surprised and spooked then I'd be like whoa awesome. I'd probably take a picture and post it on Twitter so all of my followers could see the wild ass spider I encountered.
It would feel rude to Raid it, too messy to smush it, I would probably get a bigass plastic container and try to trap it in there and then release it outside.
I just caught this assassin bug. Should I feed it to my orchid mantis?
Would it actually be able to hurt my mantis?
What a shitty image
>>2436398
Come to my house and take a better one.
>>2436397
Aren't they venomous? I wouldn't risk it.
Buy some more mantids to make raising feeders viable. I think some people used dubia roaches.
This kitten showed up around my back porch in pretty bad shape, not sure the gender. It's got fleas, a cut on it's nose and mouth(?) and is obviously starved. I can feel nothing but bones when I pet/hold him. I don't know what to do with it. I've given it some milk/tuna in hopes it'll eat/drink something but it's pretty reluctant. It's in pretty bad shape and if it doesn't eat/drink something i'm pretty sure they'll die soon.
What do I do? Should I take him to the vet; really rather not have to pay to fix some asshole who didn't get their outdoor cat neutered's problem plus I alrdy took in one alley cat and paid to have his shots/meds. Or should I take it to the pound? Maybe a shelter but not sure where there's one near me. It's not in good shape and I don't see this thing living to the end of the week without serious help.

anyone got an idea on the breed? I'm a dog person and have no idea what it is. It's got neat ears though
>>2436371
Looks like theres scabs near its eyes.
>>2436369
Take it to a vet.
Why do breeders keep shifting out kids we're not even going to have a planet for?

Because Might is Right.
Also because the theory of global overpopulation is bullshit and needs to die already.
I want to start breeding ant colonies and then having them fight to the death for supremacy. What are some good quality low cost containment tanks to house 2 separate ant colonies that could be merged or linked to allow them to cross between? What are some of the best ants to get for 2 competing colonies? Specifically if they are distinctly different colors.
Or is it better to get a completely species such as termites as the opposing faction?
fuck off
>>2436318
Get lots of very small containers, and create an elaborate system of containers with tubes connecting them. Then, get lots of small colonies and place them in their own little section with the rest blocked off.
Allow the ants to establish themselves and do ant things for a while. Let's say there are 8 colonies. Then, connect each colony with another so they fight or merge together. Then connect the remaining 4 with each other etc. until there are only two colonies left. Then the one that wins will be the true ant champions.
Bonus points if you make a thread for people to suggest names for all of them, or have them represent countries like sports teams.
>>2436335
>tournament style elimination
That is fucking genius.
How large of a colony does each contender get and how long should I allow them to live separately doing their own ant thing?
I was watching animal planet and they found out some elephants are being born without tusks. Someone suggested it was because of the poaching, so the elephants that got their tusks removed passed that (the lack of tusks) to their offspring. But isn't that what Lamarck said, but everyone mocked him?
>>2436288
Elephants that are poached for ivory are shot dead, anon.
>>2436288
No anon, you got it wrong, the ones who didn't have tusks (geneticallly) weren't killed. If u not ded fucc and have babies.
>>2436508
Same anon, so basically speaking, the poaching has become too fucking high that the gene pool is losing the tusk genes, and i may be saying shit, but i think in 50 ~ 100 years there wont be tusked elephants and they'll be smaller.
Can anyone help me identify this?
Found in a slightly big tree, also, im located in east europe

It's a plum, one of many older native species of plums that were popular before the advent of the purple plum that is now most common
A leaf would help, but the fruit shape, colour and the pit shape and size look like plum to me
