Appearantly my gf works as a hostess in Chinese club. I never been in such clubs and have no idea what they do. From what I read in Internet, looks like hostess is kind of prostitute. She gets about $150 a week. Should I make her stop working there? What is her actual job?
A host or hostess (there are clubs that cater to women) sits in the club, talks to patrons, pours the drinks, laughs at their jokes, and feigns sympathy for the problems for pay. If you are a customer, you are there for the company of attractive men or women.
Sex can be involved, though it doesn't seem to be standard, and is used to make sure the person has some kind of attachment to the club so they return for repeat business.
If this club is an actual hostess club, then your gf may very well be a prostitute. If she's making $150 a week, maybe not. I don't know what the payscale is like.
Do you know the name of the club?
If she is a proper hostess than she is not having sex.
Shes more of an escort that does not end up with sex.
Hostess and even Hosts are popular in Asian countries for lonely people.
You basically pay someone to have drinks with you and chit chat.
Very popular in Japan especially the male hosts, they make bank.
Watch "The Great Happiness Space" and then reverse the genders. That is what your girlfriend does or at least should be doing.
It's also a pretty good way to make you feel a lot better or a lot worse about yourself depending on the mindset you watch it with.
>just got to the part where the one girl says she broke off her engagement to hang with Issei on the off chance he'd be with her
This shit is fucked up, good rec

No shit. In >>16863484 this movie, the salaries are the same as the average white-collar worker, but with commissions from the clients, you're making at least $10,000 a month. If you're at least competent, you're making six figures a year.
Then again, the rampant alcoholism and the fact that the host clubs, hostess clubs and brothels all feed on each other in this weird cycle are downers.
Like you have these women talk about how they fell in love with their hosts, then you have the hosts themselves talk about how they lie to these women about how they feel so they will spend more money, then you ask the women where they work and they're either hostesses or, more often, prostitutes. It's ridiculous how they should logically know better because they run the same rackets but they fall for it all the same. The weight of the self-delusion and cognitive dissonance is staggering.
A hostess isn't actually a prositute. I'm Chinese (girl) and an familiar with this concept. One of my Viet friends is a hostess in a Viet club. Basically the hostesses are waitresses that have to treat the guys like kings and sit at their table if they request and make small talk and fawn over the dude. Sometimes they can get handsy and inappropriately touch them but that's why they get tipped well. Hostesses aren't actual prostitues. I'm trying to think of a similar American thing....I've never been to a party type nightclub, but you know those movies with club scene were there are girls dancing in cages? No one has sex with them but they're meant to set the atmosphere and be stated at? It's kind of like that, except hostesses wear more clothing and sometimes do get touched.
If she only makes $150/week she must not be making good tips. I bet it's okay anon. She's not sucking wrinkly old dick.
