Has anyone here ever been completely happy where they're living, with good friends and family, but moved to a different country for whatever reason?
Did you regret it?

Those are both fine, culture-wise.
In fact, you may have a mild problem the opposite way: Canada and NZ generally put more value on being quiet, courteous, and considerate. You need to be careful you're not pissing people off without realising, by violating social norms you're not used to.
