What do I do with my beard?

I need an honest opinion, /adv/. I don't have close friends nor father to ask for.

I want to grow a beard but I also want to change my job in about 2 months. Web developer.

I will do interviews with the beard in pic related. What do you think? Ignore the awful hair and face, I will take care of that as well when the time comes.

I have soap, wax, and oil. I dream with a 15 cm mustache each side but my facial hair naturally is really messy and curly and thus I doubt from time to time if I have the genetics to actually grow a beard and how it will look like in a year.

Some people say that you need to let your beard grow for a year without trimming nor shaving (which is what I'm doing) but others say that you need to clean shave it constantly for a year in order for it to grow thicker.

What do I do?

Trim it. Use clippers with one of the lower gaurds. I do interviews with my beard, but only after I make sure it's as clean cut as possible, meaning also shaving it off the neck and face. Plus, ladies seem to like that more than the wild man look.

I'm not attractive so I don't really care what ladies think. I just want to have a decent looking beard and get a better job. I don't mind the wild man look as long as one have a decent hair cut.
