I've been getting really bad RLS lately. It had usually only been at night, but recently I've been getting it during the week whenever I try to lay down to watch TV or nap. Even if my brain is sleepy the feeling won't go away and it's been so unbearable, I sometimes cry and have panic attacks. I hve a doctors appointment, but due to insurance and my busy schedule it's nearly a month ago. Does anybody know what I can do? I hve tried:
>otc meds. None work
>working out my legs during the day
>massages and hot showers
>avoiding atimulants late in the day
>melatonin and other natural sleep aids
>cutting out antihistamines
>deep breathing and relaxation techniques
>weed- usually helps but not enough for me to fall asleep. So my muscles relax for an hour or two but it's not a permanent fix to help me sleep
>cold or hot compresses
I think the cause may be stress or medication though I've delt with anxiety my whole life as well and taken the meds I take for awhile so I don't know if that's the only or even the cause(s)

Thanks guys. Yeah I've been paying attention to my diet, but if that's a factor it obviously won't fix itself overnight. Yeah I have a doc appt coming up but I just don't wanna be suicidal in the meantime

i also take turmeric, a half a tsp in water twice a day. turmeric is supposed to rebuild neurons and i think dopamine/seretonin receptors. rls stems from a dopamine problem i think. you'll have to look it up.

yeah bro, i put that vicks on my leg just now and i felt kinda normal but because i got rls, and even with the fucking vicks i couldnt feel completely normal. im on the same boat as you. it sucks.

My RLS was aggravated by having anemia. Iron supplements have helped. Vitamin C helps absorption of iron so try having juice with the supplements to increase their effectiveness.

Mine is also aggravated by my sleep meds but there's nothing I can do about that. But anemia is definitely a contributor, and if you're female you're probably slightly anemic already.
