What kind of jobs can pay the bills, but allow you enough time to pursue what it is you really want to in life?

If you're a gay male, maybe. Not anymore for anyone else, though.
What do you mean by "enough time"? How much are you trying to work per week, do you want a set schedule, etc.
Freelance/contract work or seasonal jobs

I guess a job that wouldn't tie me down, like a typical 9-5. Something that would allow flexibility, so I guess not a set schedule necessarily, but something that could be worked with. As for hours, well I mean, that would depend on the pay.

Depends on what you mean by 'enough time'. A regular 9-5 with an half an hour commute gives you 7 'free' hours each day(assuming you sleep 8 hours a day). That's what most people get and are satisfied with. It mostly comes down to time managment, if you don't spend 5 hours a day on 4chan you can get quite a bit done with that time.

But let's say I got a 9-5 career job, but what if I was pursuing actually gained a lot of steam, I'd be stuck in that job and unable to not only move, but pursue it without conflicting the 9-5.

In that case your best option would be to squirrel away enough money from your 9 to 5 job to give you 6-12 months' worth of financial padding so that you can pursue your side interest full time til it starts making money. With some jobs you may even be able to scale back to part time. If it's a white collar job where you've racked up some varied experience and a few professional certifications, you might be able to do some freelance consulting work if the side interest wasn't taking all your time or making enough money.
Just know that not everybody gets to the point where they can support themselves doing what they like. It might never end up being more than a hobby, but it's still worth your time to pursue it. Good luck OP.

Thanks anon, I appreciate it. That's what I considered doing, getting the job and keeping it for a little bit while making enough to survive off of if I am in a position to relocate. I do think that seems like the best idea, plus I'll still have my experiences to fall back on if need be.
