My boyfriend is mad at me because I want to vote for Donald Trump. He likes Bernie.
How do I get him to not be mad at me?
explain to him how bernie will be an absolute failure of a POTUS because of his unwillingness to compromise and his dog shit understanding of economics.
and the fact that the house and congress are GOP'd as fuck.
regretably I doubt he'd be able to do much, though I do agree with a lot of what he says it sometimes seems quixotic to me
congress has attempted to defund obamacare over 60 times despite knowing that it will get vetoed no matter what, and bernie thinks these same people will vote for universal healthcare? Or what of the republican governors who literally refused free money to expand medicaid because "fuck the poor"? That's the kind of people you're dealing with on the other side of the aisle, how is he going to deal with that?
>implying Bernie doesn't get shit done
OP, nice thinly-veiled /pol/ thread
Trump and Sanders are symmetrical. Opposites but they are both populists who hate bankers, old, white, men. You and your bf are voting for the same guy but wearing beer goggles.
As for your argument I prescribe sex. Three times a day, once before every meal. If this doesn't work we may need to put you on a heavier regime.
It's easy to agree with people on the left like Bernie . They don't use any kind of logic at all, they just wave emotional buzzwords like the poor refugees racism privelage etc , then you remember why the USSR failed , pic related .
As an ancap I think it's really funny when I see people still arguing base left right liberal conservative or any variant on socialism . One day you'll see how deep the rabbit hole goes and that government is the most inefficient and immoral organization on the planet . It's literally no different than the mafia in some respects .
Bernie is a crazy old man with unrealistic expectations.
Hillary is an evil corrupt bitch.
Trump is an attention whore with no idea how anything works.
Everyone else is irrelevant as fuck.
Literally not a single worthwhile candidate, not one.
>government has no checks on itself
lol, then what is democracy? Society has control over governments through the voting process. What way does the public have to control something like, say, a private industry externalizing the cost of doing business by polluting onto other people's land?
>If you say "the court system", I'm going to take my bar license and slap you for having no idea how shit actually works.
>Trump and Sanders are symmetrical.
hey look, someone not paying any attention
>again, giving a shit about politics in general when it comes to a relationship
>unless they are hardcore, no nobody should give a shit.
>the less involved with politics they are, the better
>what is a democracy
Are you suggesting that we have a democracy ? Democracy is just tyranny of the majority . Just because people vote on something doesn't make the action right or wrong immoral or moral . It just means it benefits the majority , or hell even the minority . See slavery and Socrates execution. See also how centralized the United States has become and all our undeclared wars . That constitution sure is keeping a check on us alright .
2 things , neither of which involve courts . If a company starts to pollute on a piece of land that is owned , and mostly everything will be owned at some point , then they will suffer the consequences of a loss of reputation and thus a loss of sales when the start to dumb all their shit in someone's backyard. Someone will notice , maybe even a tree hugger. The only reason this exists is because government protects corporations polluting cause it benefits them to.
Of course , if no one will listen , I always have my gun, and it's my property ... So...
You're an idiot, and you're lucky your bf doesn't dump you. Donald Trump is a complete joke, and the fact that people are actually considering him for President is embarassing.
Get ready for a James Buchanan-tier President if you and your fellow mouthbreathers actually get him elected.

man can you keep a thought straight in your head? All those non-sequiturs. Democratic elections are a check on government power. The tyranny of the majority is held in check by other means. The "free market" does not exist and cannot exist in reality because it is an oversimplified concept, and does nothing to correct the problems you blame the government for.

"Loss of reputation" doesn't do anything to repay the harm caused to those property owners, protect future harm, and in the real world if you'll notice it doesn't even really work to punish.
>the only reason this exists is the gubmint
I'll grant you regulations are often ineffective, but this is like blaming murder on laws against murder. You are incapable of logic. Go fondle your guns, retard.
Ancap is good in theory, but in practice I don't think it would work. There's always going to be some ambitious and charismatic person that wants to lead the people. Once they become powerful enough they will have an organization that may as well be the government.
>My boyfriend is mad at me because I want to vote for Donald Trump. He likes Bernie.
Don't worry, berndroids lack willpower.
Daily reminder that Bernie was a spineless jobber with no friends, until the FBI announced it was ready to close its jaws around Shillary. When Bernie loses the general election these people will just go back to preaching zero business rights on tumblr from their iPads at Starbucks.
Trump says he can handle ISIS, North Korea, Iran, etc. But he's skipping the next GOP debate because he doesn't like Megyn Kelly.
No thanks, I'd rather vote for Bernie Sanders than for Trump the crybaby. Bernie 2016.
To be fair to Trump, everyone in the GOP field is either a crybaby, or has their head stuck firmly up their ass. Trump just takes it to the next level.
The only electable candidate running is Bernie.
>babies first election itt
Silly millennials with no understanding of politics and economics just standing on whatever the talking point of the week happens to be... Buying into Hope and Change 2.0.
I find it interesting and refreshing there is a young conservatives movement. inb4 Trump supporter. Nope, not even once. I am a Conservative though. I've voted Republican in every state/local/national election since 2000 though.
Spoiler alert: Democrats are going to win the Presidency by the way. It's in the numbers already and it's their election to lose. It's been that way since 2004. It's just the way the country is unfortunately. Based on their voting base it will be really hard lose all those votes.
>what is curse of the incumbent party
The only candidate in the past few generations to win the general election after his party already held the white house was George HW Bush, and he lost in reelection.
>implying they didn't win in 2000, too
nah fuck off, Dubya. If you've been voting republican reliably since 2000 then you don't really have shit to talk about how others vote, since your party is essentially preying on its own base by scamming them out of their money and apparently you've been voting for them.
>m-muh young republicans
literally the dregs, have you seen /pol/?
>equating young conservatives to the microcosm that is /pol/
That's pretty sad man, but I wouldn't expect any different from a liberal.
>scamming them out of their money
So I should vote for the party that's going to scam selectively and redistribute selectively?
>but I wouldn't expect any different from a liberal.
There was ever a point at all in this thread, from anyone?
Straight-ticket voters have no clue how the elections work, because they're blinded by all the demonizing going on. As a swing voter I have very little confidence in dems this time around, not the least of which because 8-year winners usually have a losing party up next. It's depressing to think about how many strange factors have so much power in elections, but it's foolish to pretend they don't exist.
When you look at Trump's lead in the GOP primaries, what are you seeing? You're seeing the counter-productivity of demonizing tactics.
>watching iPhone communists pretend they know how elections work
Conservatives get their moral satisfaction from faith and charity. Liberals get their satisfaction from government spending programs and demonizing everyone who doesn't march to their beat.
There's no group of people more angry and intolerant than the republicans (especially the tea party fools). They don't like anyone who isn't a rich, white, straight, christian male.
Liberals don't look at you. They look at their imaginary devils then ascribe what they see to the person in front of them. Social Justice Warriorism is just the newest organized religion. They take tithes, they invent their own strange codes of right and wrong, they tell their followers to fear and hate anyone who is not also a follower.
he likes bernie lol? the non factor who spent 35 years in a public office and achieved nothing of consequence? the senator who hasnt been able to push through ANY of the major bills he endorsed? the weakling who gets pushed aside at his own rallies?
Democrat primaries have been a farce since the US civil war, if not longer. Bernie's entire job was to make Hillary appear young and moderate by contrast; Hillary just had too many scandals to juggle so the Dems are trying their luck with Bernie being a real contender instead.
But Bernie is stuck with the image of someone who gets on his knees and apologizes for being shat on. The hilarious thing is that Bernie might still lose the primary because of his spectacular cuck shows, causing Hillary's past to stay under the microscope for the rest of the year.
I originally wished Bernie could win the Dem primary so it could be cartoon capitalists against cartoon communists, but now I'm hoping Hillary wins so we can hear more about the massive donations to her fake charity from middle eastern countries while she was in charge of US diplomacy.
It pissed me off during the debates when he said "Americans are sick and tired of hearing about the e-mail scandal" then the DNC went and stabbed him in the back. It's the same way they responded to Benghazi, rather than acknowledge some mistakes were made but not as bad Republicans say, liberals practically forgot there was a terrorist attack and just go DUDE BENGHAZI LMAO. Republicans may be more "retarded", but Democrats are far more amoral and corrupt.
its great, no matter who the dems choose they will be shredded by Trump, who has been 'stockpiling ammo'' (ie not directly trashing them all out, so he has plenty to talk about later) for years. hillary has more skeletons than her husband and she hasnt even been in office yet, and consider how hard jeb! gets trashed by Trump, wait until he gets that doddering old appeaser bernie in his sights
For you americans in here there is actually a HUGE difference. Plz look up the difference and learn it. Don't have to agree on it, but just know the difference.
@op politics should not affect your relationshit that much, why does it?
>obama signs the thought police bill
>sanders says we need to go further
Bernie probably has a better chance against Trump than Hillary does.
Hillary and Trump have equal and opposite problems: their arguments run along their parties' traditional weaknesses. Trump is a pathos-driven fucktard in a time when Republicans are so weak on pathos that most of them don't even try to argue from it. Republicans have long since learned to tune out the Democrats' pathos, but they have no such defense when it comes from one of their own, and Trump has learned to capitalize on that.
Hillary, by contrast, is trying to argue from ethos, which Democrats have treated like kryptonite for decades (Obama tried it for a while, but he couldn't make it stick and eventually gave up). Democrats have dismissed Republican ethos for decades, but from a Democrat, it can be a powerful motivator. Hillary has figured out how she can use that.
Bernie, like Trump, is pathos-driven, but Bernie is a Democrat: for him, this is a position of strength, not weakness. Hillary and Trump can muddle about with their awkward positioning, while Bernie is busy running rings around them.
I am no fan of Bernie, but in comparison to Trump, I figure he will be mostly harmless. Stopping Trump, who has enough crass ignorance and superficial charm to be dangerous, is rapidly becoming a major priority issue for me, and Bernie is in the best position to do that. That's not to say he won't be disastrous, but his disasters will be the kind that can be weathered. I'm not sure Trump's will be.
>A chance of winning
You seem to mistake inexperienced college kids for the majority of voters.
Bernie has little support and he will be stopped by older Americans who still remember the red menace.
I personally don't think Trump will win the GOP nominations but you never know, it could be a surprise.
Hillary will probably win because Bernie won't, and will get all staunch Democrat votes and the swing voters who are too stupid to read anything about political policy and just want a woman in office because progressive.
Me too, man. Is there some kind of rule that says a candidate who has lost, can never run again? Or is it just that they don't want to put themselves through that shit more than once? At this point, I'd weep for joy at the sight of John Kerry or John McCain or anyone who seems fucking sane and aware of the world around them.
At this point, Hillary is honestly our best bet, and that's not a good thing
>Is there some kind of rule that says a candidate who has lost, can never run again?
No. Most modern Republican presidents were former losers, I think, the only exceptions was Dubya. However, Romney acts like he got BTFO so hard it's sad. Poor guy just wanted to fulfill his dad's dream ;_;.
He's a republican. Republicans don't know how to mind their own business whether it comes to women, gay people, or other countries. Republicans try to stick their noses where they don't belong. They aren't capable of leaving people who don't concern them alone.
He retweeted Stormfront's endorsement of him, including a cartoon of him putting Bernie Sanders into a concentration camp. I get that you can't control who likes you, but when the approval of actual neo-Nazis doesn't fill you with at least enough shame to keep the endorsement quiet, you are unfit to lead.
Give hima book about basic economisc.
Alternatively send him either here (belgium which is, sadly but truely) a complete sandnigger shithole or in north korea, if he loves communism so much
