I'm quite stressed about something right now.
I was in Vegas over new years and a friend told me about this trick where you can slip a $20 to the hotel receptionist and ask for a 'complimentary upgrade' during check-in.
So I did it and it was successful and we got the upgrade.
But today I told my boss and other people at work about it. And I work in a financial management company where ethics is really important and a lot of people heard me.
Is it unethical what I did? Am I fucked?
Since when is financial management all about ethics? My guess would be that it's all about PRETENDING to be ethical, because they figured out that makes money somehow.
Just make up some bullshit story of why it's not unethical what you did. As long as it won't get them into trouble they' ll probably stop giving a fuck. Also, next time keep your big mouth shut.
>But today I told my boss and other people at work about it.
learn some self control maybe?
Your boss doesn't need to know about the stupid weird shit you do under the table. If it happens under the table KEEP IT THERE, no matter how friendly you are with your coworkers. ESPECIALLY if it's a place where "ethics are important"
Someone told her, then she asked me about it and I kinda bragged about it without thinking cause I was so thrilled with the experience. And now it's sinking in... it's basically bribery
Lol, pussy. You really sound like the Don Juan of the office.
1. Make up some story why it wasn't as unethical as it seemed / act naive and apologize, tell them you didn't realize exactly what you were doing.
2. Next time keep your mouth shut.
3. Stop being such a pathetic doormat.
I' m talking about the fact that you told some silly story to the receptionist in order to impress her. And now it backfired and you' re far too worried, over something that isn't that important or special.
protip: move on//DONT BRING THIS UP AGAIN.
Like, if you're trying to make excuses, it will just make the people from he office read into your behavior more. Have an excuse in mind in case anyone ever directly asks you about it, but do NOT just randomly bring it up and then try to justify it
