I'm a guy and I fucking love short hair on girls. I've practically never met a girl who I didn't think it made more attractive. I've realized over the years (from reading threads like these, partly) that it's a minority taste, but whatever, guys like me are out there.

Personally, I prefer long hair.

I don't mind short hair, as long as the actual hairstyle flatters the person wearing it. But while most women do have a short hairstyle that would flatter them, that style isn't always the pixie, which leads to the problem: a lot of women who go for the pixie seem to have forgotten that other short hairstyles even exist, and would have been better served by a different short hairstyle.

My advice: if you want short hair, work with your hairstylist to find a short haircut that works WITH you. If that happens to be the pixie, then great; go for it. But be open to other possibilities: there may be something that works better.

Long hair. Never met a guy who liked short hair and wasn't a full blown faggot or in the closet.

But long hair always beats short hair. Short hair, aka mom hair, might be easier to take care of but long hair has wider options for styling and just looks way, way better and more feminine in my opinion.

I like short hair in the French sense best, it's cute. But short hair like the OP pic usually just looks butch and unattractive.

An attractive woman with short hair is often more attractive than an attractive woman with long hair. Short hair frames the face better and doesn't hide the ears, neck or anything else, whereas long hair doesn't frame the face as well but does hide some of the face.

So if you're good looking you will benefit from having short hair, if you're not then you can hide your flaws with long hair.

It varies greatly, and has a lot to do with face and personality.

I was very disappointed with my ex growing her hair out. It made her look old and frumpy. It might have just been that I was first attracted to her when she had kind of a dykey lopsided cut. She also didn't do anything with the longer hair and generally stopped slutting it up with me the way she did before.

OTOH another girl I was with had gorgeous long, straight black hair. I would pull her on top of me just so I could run my fingers through it. She got it cut right after we broke up and let a friend experiment on her with hair dye, looked fucking awful. She had full cheeks, so the long hair really set off her features nicely.

Overall, long hair is probably my favorite, but short can be cute. I'm seeing a woman now whose practically got a high and tight with a mop of curls on top, and it's pretty cute on her.

Sometimes the change is nice, makes you see a girl in a different way. I don't think I'd lose interest in a girl because of a new hairdo, it's just a nice aesthetic feature.

Some people look better with short hair rather than long hair, others look best with long hair rather than short hair.

Long hair is more youthful.

White Women look a lot older in most cases when they cut their hair.
This can be cute on girls who are actually young (in their 20's) but once you get in to 35-45, the short hair isn't cute and unique anymore.

Also, long hair helps to make a girl look more proportionate. Girls look fatter when they have short hair/have their hair up compared to when they have it down.

Basically- short hair is REALLY nice if you can pull it off, but if you're 95% of women, you end up just looking like a soccer mom

Like most said everyone is different. I prefer long. I'm curious about what you look like. I had a gf that had long hair and asked me what I thought about cutting it. I'm doing the opposite of OP. I've had short hair for most of my life and am trying to grow it out.

While long hair gives you more styling options, I have to say that the upkeep is driving me fucking crazy. It tangles, it takes much longer to dry, it blows or falls into your face all the time, and shedding is much more noticeable. I'm sticking it out at least until spring, but so far, I'm really annoyed by the inconvenience. I'm only doing it so I can try a ponytail, pigtails, curling it, and braiding it. If it doesn't suit me in a few months, I'm hacking all that shit off.

If being able to do a lot with your hair is important to you, keep it long. If convenience is more important, cut it.

I think a good guideline to follow if you're shooting to be as universally attractive as possible is to go with your "instincts." What I mean is, we are programmed from birth both from genetic sexual impulses and from the media to know what we should consider attractive.

Of course, some people will always deviate in their preferences, but we're talking about generic beauty here.

Keeping that in mind:

Those are some aspects of your appearance that you can control to seem more attractive to the general public. You can take ONE aspect and mix it up to seem "quirky" or "unique," but if you deviate in more than one area it becomes a slippery slope. Just don't go so crazy in your quest for originality that you end up looking like a tumblr reject.

Example: girl fits all the listed criteria, EXCEPT she wears glasses.

Another example: girl fits all the listed criteria EXCEPT she always wears worn-out sneakers (other pieces of her wardrobe are crisp and stylish, however).

I've always had short hair in some way or another and always wanted long hair. My hair is shitty and I always end up dying it or bleaching it or whatever to make it look super cute. I have a very great look/face for short hair, I'm petite, slim but with boobs and have a very young european look-not american looking- I have really great bone structure and high cheek bones. I get lots of attention and everyone likes my short hair, I wear it well. Very audrey hepburn/winonaesque I've been told.

When I had "long" hair, (long to me since I've always had super short hair or bobs at the longest) I didn't think it looked interesting and I felt like one of the crowd, not original at all etc. I'm growing my hair out again.
