i agree but there is no surefire way to deal with them. i'm sure your other sources of advice will also have it's flaws. i guess the choice to move out of this thread is still your decision.

sure, sometimes. I've gotten good advice from here before. The person asking the advice needs one thing.

willingness to accept criticism. most people get on here and sorta what to be validated, they don't care for a harsh truth. The truth is harsh, but can make you better, if you have the right attitude.

You won't find different by going somewhere else, you'll only get the same plus the added bonus of getting a community that worships a handful of named individuals considered above question by the mindless flock, so even if their advice is poor it's your fault for not following it correctly.

You're absolutely right about that. /adv/ is full of beta candyasses, attention whores aka tripfags and general retards.
HOWEVER, that is the great strength of /adv/: It gives you a huge range of reactions and advice, which mostly will have a core of good advice. If you're decently smart, you'll be able to piece those small fragments of truth together. Alternatively, if all these different people say one and the same thing, you can be sure that you dun goofed. People may be stupid around here, but at least they're honest, and that's one thing you hardly find in the real world (or random hugbox forums for that matter) these days.

advice will always be shit. What you have to do is pick out the good stuff, and figure how to apply it. They are giving you the content, you just need to edit it.
