Partner and I got into argument - she had STI from previous partner and found out a week ago through test at centre - since then shes slept with me but also another friend -
i brought it up that we should inform set friend and she felt it would be best not to and "they would probably get tested on their own"
So me knowing this decide to tell partner i'm gonna bring it up to set friend she says no 0 i insist.
I go to meet friend and turns out partner already told him while on my way there because of the pressure ( I'm assuming from me telling them I was gonna tell them )
Now set friend thanks me for telling them.
However partner is furious with me and breaks up with me.
I stick by my morals.
They are still denying they "didn't want to tell them:" and telling me im "spreading lies" like fuck all i wanted was to tell friend the truth.

It's been 9 months since I broke up with my ex and I still hate her. She was my first gf (was KVH) and pretty much found out she was only in it for the sex.

Almost every time I go out to a social gathering like a party I get nervous to the point of feeling physically sick, especially around women. It's not even the women themselves, for some reason the fact that women need to go to so much more effort than men for a night out makes me feel really nervous to be around them. It gives me a really dry mouth and a thudding heartbeat and a feeling of physical sickness. What really puzzles me is the fact that I have a girlfriend and I can talk to her friends and get along with them easily, so it's not like through the day I'm intimidated by them or something, it's definitely not a case of intimidation. When I'm going out with my girlfriend, when I'm with her the process of being with her when she is applying makeup gives me a really uneasy feeling in my stomach. Any guesses as to what's wrong with me? This is debilitating as fuck, and started around the time that I started dating my current girlfriend, about 14 months ago.

Me and my dog, a 2 year old female German Sheppard are pretty cool. I usually pet her from time to time so she doesn't feel lonely. However, she has a bit of a problem where she loves eating her own crap. Usually I can get it without a problem. But, when she gets really happy, she wants to eat the poop bag and constantly jumps on me. I'm a bit short for a 15 year old, so she's hard to control. Is there a way where I can have her obey when I tell her to sit? Also, she has been trained and whenever my mom or older sister tells her to do something,she listens fine. It's just me. I don't want to make picking up dog poop feel like Fight Club.
(P.S, My sister's not living with us for a year, so I can't ask her for anything right now)

The only real way is to put yourself out there in some way. Try campus clubs, check around local bars/venues, attend dorm events if possible, see what's going on around campus. If those aren't an option, talk with classmates and develop some sort of bond with them. You'll never converse with people if you aren't around others.
Most importantly, don't be afraid of failure. You'll figure out what does and doesn't work with people over time (types of jokes for types of people, topics, etc.) Personally I went through 2 years of failure socially, but lately I'm getting some worthwhile results with things (though I'm a more extreme case than most I feel).
Be nice/chill with people, and most importantly don't say anything weird or harsh. It's better to say nothing than something bad. Observe how others socialize, don't stress, and just keep at it.

Not if you are willing to be a counselor or an industry psychologist. I don't know why /adv/ can be so discouraging at times. I study psychology on my own, though. It's a soft science so you don't really need textbooks or a teacher. You need formal education to do studies and work with data, though.

I have no idea what to major in.
I'm going in for my first year of college soon. I love learning and I'm really excited for it, but I have no fucking idea what I should major in.
Every job prospect for the future looks terrifying. For any choice there are a million articles online telling me why it's a very bad idea. On top of that, I still haven't felt inspired by anything I do.
Should I just declare a meme major like Communications or Business? Did anyone else go through this in college?
