Hi /adv/. I'm a 37 year old guy and I'm in a relationship with a 39 year old woman. We've been together for 4 months now and she is my first girlfriend ever, I was a virgin before meeting her. Things were going pretty okay but she recently confronted me about my passive attitude towards her. I've always tried to treat her super well and with respect. My mom taught me to be nice to girls so I've tried my best to be a gentleman to her.

It came to a head the other day when she told me she was going out with her friends. I told her to have fun. She told me she might be gone all night and I'll probably not be able to talk to her until to the next day. I told her to be safe and to call me if she needs a ride home. She got very frustrated with me and asked "Why are you okay with this?" I was confused and she said she's going to be gone all night and I'm just smiling and nodding along. I asked what the problem was and she said I'm too accepting and she could be out doing god knows what.

I told her she's her own person and I trust her. She got even more frustrated and said she's been wanting to tell me this for awhile now and she said I'm way too nice. I asked what the problem with that is. She said I'm too much of a gentleman and everytime we go out I treat her like a princess. I asked what's wrong with that and she said she wants me to be a little aggressive and controlling and even mean sometimes. She says she feels unwanted by me but I tell her how can that be when we have sex like everyday. She said when we have sex she never feels like I want her because I never just simply fuck her brains out but I always make it sweet and romantic.

I felt pretty bad but I wasn't sure why. I said I was sorry for being a poor boyfriend and she stopped me and said that's my problem, that I don't stand up for myself and I'm too soft. I just quietly nodded and she sighed in frustration then went home.

What am I supposed to do /adv/? How do I change myself to be a better boyfriend?

I am male and almost a year ago my girlfriend broke up with me as she claimed that she was attracted to females. I fully believe her and support her, and up until now we ve ingnored each other. Now she says that she hopes that we can be friends but now that we are, I want her back. I love her so much it actually causes mental strain for me. Any advice?

I suspect my brother has been doing hard drugs, he has been a shitty person for the past two months since he smashed his finger with a hammer. He has been really abusing alcohol and I imagine his coworkers must have given him something to make him feel better or some shit I know nothing about drugs. He has been trying to hide my mothers card so he can steal money, and lying out his teeth constantly. Earlier today he told my mother he was at a bar all day yesterday but none are open on sunday and my mother mentioned him saying some shit about him saying "doing a few lines". She has been hard at hearing for sometime now so I wouldn't fixate on that but it just isn't adding up. Should I confront him? Or involve authorities? Maybe buy a drug test and if he refuses to take it call the police? His violence is mostly just verbal abuse, he essentially bullies my mom all day, blasting music while shes sleeping or not picking her up when she fucking falls (even being responsible for it by leaving all his fucking trash around the ground and breaking her shit). He busted down her door so she couldn't lock it, he broke all the fucking phones and cut the phone lines so she couldn't call the police (this would have been enough for me to call, but however my mother was not trying to call the police in the first place and he was just being paranoid, she now has my phone), and there is yet another hole in her wall. I am tired of it but don't know if that is enough to get him arrested, I need advice before I have to shoot my brother

I'm a NEET for a year now have pretty bad anxiety, I only leave the house to walk to the store or smoke by the wood fence at my front door. The neighbors across the street are Jamaican (I'm also black btw but born in Canada) they often see me going outside always Chainsmoking although they can't see me in the corner they know I'm there. I would spend more time outside to try to get myself used to it more, I would wake up early morning to watch the birds and insects wake up at the same time. I overhear those Jamaican guys laughing loudly and making fun of me. They could see me this time at the front and anytime they say something offensive about me (not directly but meant for me to hear) I would laugh trying to hide that their insults actually make me want to kill them slowly. Their laughing turned to angry outburst (once again not directly) saying if I was in jamaica the people there would kill me or beat me up. This makes it hard to leave my house but I try my best to ignore them. Also I keep to myself and never talk to anyone including family, at most when my family asks me questions I answer with one or two words. So I don't talk to the neighbors but they hate me. How do I kill myself? Should I bring them with me?

if so its about custody and visitation. as in I have full custody of my son, mom didnt show up to court. shes demanind visitation and wants our kid to stay the week with her where she lives, which is the next state over. i tell her no, i tell her to go get court order visitation fot aht, but in the mean time she can visit him where we live for the day... not good enough for this bitch and has started threaning me hes not mine and she will order a dna test to take him from me... fyi, i pay everything for him, i am his father. name of his certificate. anyways... anyone?

My girlfriend of 4yrs just left me for a transgender, female to male. Our anniversary was next month and I was going to propose on her birthday in November. The guy has not fully crossed over as far as I'm aware. He still has a chest and as far as I know a vagina. I'm trying to judge whether my she will come back to me. She needed to do some soul searching, claimed she wasn't happy. She is adopted and needs help with that. She hasn't been to a therapist in a long time. The guy is also adopted. But she wants kids and has a very very social family. Bring a deaf transgender into her family would be very interesting. Am I overreacting with what's going on? What do you think the chances are of her coming back to me? What costs are entailed in the transgender change? I'm not sure if she fully understands that there could be a lot of money invested in that, almost like a college loan.

No, I argue that the adaptation to which we owe our success is the fact that even though a gazelle can outpace any predator for a mile, or for ten, a man can run for longer.

We are nature's best long-distance runners. We can run down our prey, any land animal on the planet, because we are built for persistence. We're built for the long-run.

No matter how elusive, or how fast or dangerous your prey is, as long as you're prepared to face it, you CAN outrun it. If you persist, you WILL reach it.
