Hey anons, I'm a freshman at a uni and I'm just trying to figure out the best way to get myself around socially. What is the best way to get the info on parties and what is the best way to hookup with chicks? I currently work on campus in addition to my classes. Thanks anons.

tinder is a very easy way to hook up. i strongly suggest getting on there, have friends edit your profile for you

keep your sex life and your social life totally separate, this is very important. as a college freshman your next relationship is unlikely to result in a lifelong partnership, so when it does end youll be fucked if you have the same social circle. i wish the drinking age was 18 (it makes sense that it really should be), because clubs are a great way to make friends. everyones drunk and happy to you're more likely to be received well. as for parties, look into fraternities. you may even want to consider rushing, normie as that is. just dont do any humiliating shit, its never worth it and theyll respect you for refusing. this sounds super creepy, but if you find out where the big party apartment complexes are and where the college row houses are, you can go by on a friday night round ten and just listen for music. if you see a big party spilling onto the lawn, feel free to join. they dont know half the people there anyway, and youll be able to make some friends. you can also join clubs and do volleyball, tons of girls there. just get involved in ANYTHING- even if its a robotics team, and youll make friends.

For the past 17 years, I've had very few friends, and nothing that has really lasted.
Last year, I got fed up with my lonely neet life, and went to make a change.
A year passed with still little to no friends, but I feel like I made some progress.
Despite spending majority of my summer break doing pointless leisure activities, I want to try socializing again.
Any good places to socialize for a teenager outside of school, and how do you deal with having zero friends growing up?
Feel like a lot of my insecurities are due to having zero friends growing up.

I'll tell you a secret, later in life the friends as you call them become a selfish birches ... why ?? Cuz that's the way life is
>>
>>18631661
I figured a lot of people really just conform due to their own insecurities. Like how lonely people tend to find other lonely people, etc.
Shoving their own selfish desires onto other people.

Despite that, I still want to socialize.

Here's my Situation
>21 yo khv
>worked on myself the past 2 years
>fixed my looks, built confidence
>chat up hot girl in my class
>she goes to clubs every weekend
>basically just ask her if I can tag along
>she says it's fine, obviously sure that I'm a total buzzkill who'll just follow her around and be boring
>nervous as fuck, first night out of my entire life
>luckily she's straight edge, so she's fine with me not drinking
>against all odds we both have a blast, we dance until 8 am
>she tells me how she is surprised by how energetic I am, says I can dance better than most other guys at that club
>invites me to join her again next weekend aka tomorrow

Now the question is, how do I make my intentions clear? I don't want to slip into the friend zone like with all the other girls I've met, but I don't want to scare her off either.

Ever since that night I caught her looking at me in class from time to time, we also talk a lot and sometimes we just look at Each other and smile, so it's safe to say that she likes me as well in one way or another.

Was she flirty with you at all during the night (e.g., touching, being playful with you)?

I would try to ask her on an "actual" date (e.g., dinner) and see how that goes. It is def a good sign that she still wants to talk to you.

Buy condoms. Walk her home. Flirt. Tell her how sexy she is. Touch her. Ask her if she will invite you over. Smile. Ask for netflix and chill. Attempt to kiss her. Smile like retard.

Tldr behave like horny male beast. You dont have to rape her or force your hand into her panties and grab her by pussy, but you still have to make some bold move.

Take note that you described yourself as kind boring guy, so she obviously isnt girl you should marry. But sex should be ok. Bring the condoms or you will be teen and pregnant.

Your first meta is kiss. Then cuddling. Then cuddling at her/your home on bed. After that it should be on autopilot.

>>18631593
Or this. Simply ask her on date.
>>
>>18631593
Well its kinda hard to say since talking in a club basically requires you to go cheek to cheek with eachother anyway
But she is definitely comfortable around me, though she's not really the type of girl who would openly show affection I think, she's more like a tough tomboy-ish kinda deal

I did ask her if she'd like to see a movie sometime though and she said yes so there's that

I am wondering if you folks would mind helping me.

Recently I took a trip away from home without my friends and I returned to feel like I actually hadn't missed them at all. In fact, I felt like I didn't like them anymore and that the break away had made me realise that out of that environment, I am completely different with different views. Perhaps I am just tired, but if not, I was wondering if anyone else has ever felt like this?

Am I just being a tit, or do you think I have just changed into someone else?

Build a desktop. Laptops are a meme.
>>
"Gaming" laptops are a joke. Cheap hardware marked up far beyond it's value.

Don't be a lazy faggot and get good value for your money by building or asking someone else to build a desktop for you. Any mouthbreather with functioning hands and access to the internet can could do it following a Youtube tutorial. 1-2 hours tops for you first build. It's not hard.

Has anyone ever truly beaten depression, anxiety and all that jazz disorders and successfully regained their healthy lives back?

Can I be happy again or am I permanently tainted with this plague that fogs my brain, makes me generally unstable and reality not seem like reality?

Working on it. I"ll let you know if I ever get there, but I see potential.

You know that feeling when you are trying to learn something new and you're joking about wanting to be good at it, lets say piano. Every so often you sit down and bust a few scales always thinking "Nah I'm always going to be a person that doesn't know how to play piano" but then out of the blue you try to play Hey Jude and you have no issue and you think "huh, I can see how if I were to actually try at this I would know how to play piano".

I'm right there with living a healthy life. Every so often I've done spurts of attempting to get over my shit and it never did more than reassure me I wasnt a total helpless retard. Recently I've taken to cutting sugars, diary, and breads from my diet, adding a bit of movement to my daily routine, and got a healthier job - I can see how this might lead somewhere.

Give it a shot, what ya got to lose? Chase the things that make your body feel good. Maybe thats sex, maybe its drugs, maybe its dancing. Just do stuff that FEELS good and the rest will fall into place my homie

I lost all feeling emotion empathy sympathy, emotional connection to others, enjoyment of music, capacity to love, etc. Everything HUMAN to antidepressants.

None of these "side effects" left my system when the drugs did.

I've got permanent brain damage. What do?

Has anyone else had a bad time with antidepressants?

>None of these "side effects" left my system when the drugs did.

That's depression, you are simply not out of the woods just because you have quit medication.

>I've got permanent brain damage. What do?

No you don't, you are afraid, this is fear of powerlessness to change your outlook yourself, this is you fearing your own failure is insurmountable beyond your abilities, at the same time it is a convenient excuse to plead yourself blameless for failing to achieve what you want in life, it is a convenient externalized cause to blame your powerlessness and failure on.

Stop bullshitting yourself with this edgy defeatist bullshit and try again and again and again until you die, start small, start doing something, explore curiosities, break your habitualized behavior that keeps you stagnant, remove yourself from the comfortable environment that allows you to continue being comfortable with a situation you are not even happy with.

So I got my GCSEs and all that bullshit .Go to College and study Maths,Electronics,Physics and Computer Science.Did not make it ,kinda flopped all except Electronics (Got C) repeat the year do Physics, Maths and Product Design still get bad grades.

Repeated a whole year too.

What now? I was thinking of going into sales or becoming a broker. There are some Apprenticeships around. 19 btw.

OK so you're no good at those subjects. Not necessarily the end of the world. Find another field you are good at.

Don't worry about job prospects. It sounds like you're in the UK, and employers there are less interested in WHAT you studied than in THAT you studied and had the ability and discipline to get a degree. With a few technical exceptions you can legitimately apply for any job anywhere with any degree.

Alternatively, perhaps the academic/professional path is not for you. The world will always need plumbers. And electricians, bus drivers, barbers, cops, postmen, etc etc etc

Get up and walk the fuck up out of there in the middle of a meeting. Like, be listening to something and mentally just say "Yup, thats the last one" and walk the fuck out without saying a word to anyone. Dont respond to any phone calls. Use every time someone from the job tries to contact you as fuel to find your next gig.

I'm not one to look for work while currently with someone. This worked well enough for me.

>>18631295
Is it hourly or salary? My first job was shit tier. I asked to be put PT and used the extra offtime to find something else.

It's an hourly janitor job, I have a bachelors but I don't have much experience so job hunting is a pain. I feel like I'm playing with fire when I slack off

Hi /adv/, sorry for the long post. I've signed on to work with a great company but since it's my first 'real' job, I'm nervous and want some second opinions.

As part of my degree I need to complete a few months worth of work experience, which I was initially going to do on site with my employer. Since then I've received an offer for 14 weeks work with the faculty at my university. I'll be paid $3000~ to do something I'm well suited to. The problem is that the contract I signed in June has a conflict of interest clause that forbids me from working with
"any company, industry, entity, which is competitive to any of the business conducted by us ;any other employment that could adversely affect your performance."

While there's no competition between the two entities, both jobs utilize the same very specific set of skills. I imagine this is only positive as it allows me to develop, something no employer could object to. However, I'm still nervous. Is it worth asking my manager about or should I just go ahead with it since it will finish before my main job begins?

Also, what level of contact should I be in with my employer? Is it normal/common for employers to offer contracts of employment 6-10 months before starting the job, then have minimal contact until the day it begins? I feel like I should email and schedule a meeting to touch base and talk about what training I should be doing before starting.

Are you the same guy who has posted this at least 3 times now? The answer is the same as before: most of what's in these contracts is not enforceable in court. So don't worry about it.
>>
>>18631303
No, the contract issue only came up a few days ago and I haven't been on /adv/ in months. There's a possibility I asked about the long period of silence back in June, but I doubt it. How similar was their post?

I found a website talking about upcoming ico on ethereum, it seems I need something glide my ether wallet to invest in them? I already have an ethereum wallet so I was wondering if I need to make that.

Also many of these icos have some disclaimer saying you can't invest if your a us citizen? What's the deal with that.

Whoops meant to post on biz

Hey all! I'm temporarily residing at my friend's apartment during the holidays before attending university. He's now gone off to work on some school assignments in another city, and (accidentally) took the house keys with him. This means I'm sort of 'locked' in his apartment until he returns. I was wondering if any of you had any fun things to study or learn about. Anything goes, really. I'd be okay with talking or trying to help out with anyone's problems as well.

As a little extra, I've been studying the Dhamma a lot lately and as such anything related to it or Buddhism as a whole would be a plus! ^^

Thanks in advance!

Should I remove a small gap in which I worked for another company between my time at my current company?

It seems odd to list a place I only worked at for three months. I left my company after two years in December 16, started at the second company in January, left in March, and now I'm back at the first company with a better title.

I feel like it's a lot cleaner to just say I've been here for 2 and a half years and ignore the few month gap.

>>
>>18631239
Skip it unless one of these is the case

1. You got some special experience there
2. You had an impressive title there
3. You might be using them as a reference
4. You might be using your current employer as a reference and they might mention the gap
>>
>>18631239
On the other hand, if you could get away with this story - "Company A was promoting me to the higher job but there was an unavoidable 3 month gap, so I took the opportunity for a short-term closed-ended job at Company B" - it might present you as a real go-getter

Please provide me a link to learn link list completely , thank you . If this is not the right board then mention which is a good thread to ask programming related queries .
