I dated my ex for almost 7 years, we started when we were both 18. This is our 4th time breaking up, the first two times I don't recall, the third was because I was 23 and wanted to see what other women were out there, but I came back to her.
This last time, I really fucked up. I got into a bit of a rut and lost confidence in myself. I projected my insecurities onto her, all the while she stood by me. Eventually though, a woman could only take so much and she broke up with me on bad terms. During this time, I avoided her but I'd see her at the gym, or reading a book outside the gym (it's at an outdoor mall area). This went on for about 2 months before I realized my fuck up.
I texted her apologizing, sent her flowers and a letter. Told her I wanted her back. She told me to move on, to work on myself, and that she can't tell the future. She said she needed time to be single and that I needed it too.
A few weeks had gone by and I was making a huge effort to improve myself, for myself. I came up with a plan to get her back. A really heartfelt, but clear letter. I was set to give it to her this Tuesday.
On the Saturday before the Tuesday of my plan, I ran into her at the store. We exchanged some small talk, and then I lost it. Told her I missed her. She awkwardly smiled and told me she doesnt know what to say that. I said "nothing to say" and said bye and left. I got home and proceeded to text her. I figured I might as well expedite my plan since I ran into her today. I thought I was being a man by committing to my plan but she saw it as a dick waving contest, me just trying to do this for my own pride. She told me to fuck off, leave her alone because she's never coming back, and to move on.
The next day, I went to the gym with a buddy and saw her on a date with some dude from Tinder. I know she had been on tinder for like 2 weeks or so, so I reckon this dude is pretty new.
The break up was in May, just to give a time frame.
Anyways, I'm pretty beat up... 1/2

What are some things I, or anyone, should know about moving out for the first time?
I currently live with my parents and pay all my bills except my phone bill. I've been working for a few months at a new place and can move out and pay for my bills comfortably. I'd probably move to a 1b/1b around $400-$800 range. I'm scared as fuck but I know I need to do it soon. My gf is losing her place at the end of the year and my parents are holding me back in life and driving me crazy.
Any useful information would help!

Work out your household budget. Work out what your outgoings are going to be, on average, so you know not to overspend.
This may not appeal to everyone, but I've arranged to have all of my bills happen on the same day. So my gas, electric, rent, etc. is all due at the same day of each month. I find this a lot easier to deal with. I basically pay all my bills once a month on the same day.
Have one day a week that you keep aside for chores ie. laundry day, cleaning day.
Have spare keys cut and give a trusted neighbour/gf/parents/friends a set so that if you ever get locked out you know where to go.
Keep a book where you keep all your online account usernames, telephone numbers, etc . When I need to call the utility companies I have a book that contains all the numbers I need to call, and my account number, etc.

Dont move into black neighborhoods: Call me a /pol/ nazi if you want, but black neighborhoods are shit, you will hate every second of it and will get robbed. Just make sure you scope out the area your moving into, I made this mistake when I moved into my first apartment..... never again.
Plan your budget: For example my brother and I moved in together, for awhile I was the only one working and we spent $735 on a 2bed 2bath, around $300 for food, $100 for internet, and about $60-$70 on power, and $35 a month for the gym, anything after this was extra spending money.
GET RID OF YOUR SHIT NOW! You do not want boxes of crap in your apartment for years, we tried to save stuff we thought we might use (really old clothes, extra mattress, old school books, ect), lose literally all the shit you havnt touched in a year because odds are you wont touch it again, I cant stress this enough. (we ended up taking a full sized u-haul truck and making 2 trips to the dump to get rid of all the stuff we let sit around for 2 years)
Keep stuff clean: aka no fridgebro or you will get ants/fruit flies.
Honestly anon dont sweat it to much, its scary at first but after 1-2 months you will enjoy the freedom, wish you luck mate!

Hey, so I've fucked up royally in college. Meaning I'm 24 and only in my second year.
Everyone I know had/has very high expectations of me because prior to that I was a high achiever.
This leads me to two related scenarios:
1. I had to take time off work to try and repeat part of my course (they failed me any way :') ) so everyone in work knows that. They ask me if it went well.
2. On dates people inevitably ask what I do in college, and I don't want to lie. But when I tell the truth it lets me down.
In both scenarios my problem is that I'll try to tell the truth in a relatively positive way. Then they'll poke and poke until they get to the truly negative underbelly truth and suddenly I'm like pouring my heart out explaining why I keep having to repeat.
This has both ruined dates, and lately made people in work kind of avoid me because they're afraid I'll like dump all my problems on them I suppose.
So what I want to know is how do I tell people the truth of the matter without the entire story unravelling or in a normie false positive way?
Or do normies just lie?

Hey /adv/ femanon here, I'm an out of shape shit and I want to get healthy, but working out is the most soul crushingly boring thing I've ever done and it's super hard to get motivated when I'd rather watch paint dry than go to the gym for an hour and do monotonous tasks on the machines in silence.
I figure if I could get into a sport it might make exercising more fun at least.
The only catch is I have a deformity in my knees that keep me from anything that involves putting too much strain on them, very heavy lifting, long term running, and jumping are ill advised for me according to my doctor. I also figure I should try to stick to more "feminine" sports since A.) it's difficult to find coed teams and B.) guys tend to get too competitive for my taste anyway and I don't want to let them down lol.
I'm thinking Tennis, never played tennis before in my life though outside the unit in high school P.E.
I'm looking for something that can help me lose the most weight and be the most active but also fall within those set perimeters.
Or alternatively if you have any tips on making the gym more fun and interesting I'm all ears for that too. Other than just "change up ur routine"

Yeah I do that lol, I can't imagine what the hell you'd do at the gym if you didn't have an ipod or something. When I'm on the treadmill I have my tablet playing a tv show or something. But that's kinda boring to me too, my attention spans short for those kinds of things.
