I'm 24 and still don't know what I wanna do with my life.
What do I do?
What are your hobbies? You could go into something surrounding that market

I'm pretty good at statistics.
I like being on the computer.
I could also learn computer programming.

Programming makes dosh right
One of the few "trades"/skills that one can make money with.
Flappy bird, literally 10 lines of code and it steals Mario assets for graphics made 50,000 USD while it was still in the mainstream stores.
Hi, I'm 18 years old and about to go to college. I currently have two options:
>Go to UC Berkeley for cheap due to scholarship and instate tuition
>Go to a top 15 school (maybe Ivys, decisions have not come out) with most likely little aid
I dont know what to do because I have no idea how much an undergraduate degree matters. All I have heard is that if you get a great internship because of the degree, then it matters. If not just wait for Graduate. Any advice from older people in the workforce on graduate degrees vs undergraduate degrees? Thanks
Specific questions I need advice on:
>Does the undergraduate degree in the end matter?
>Is the name value of an ivy league that much better to spend more money on?
>Is it possible to get far in the corporate ladder without a graduate degree?
Thanks! any advice is appreciated
>TLDR: Should I save money and go to a good state school, or spend a lot on a elite school for undergraduate?
>pic related, outdated graph but still true
>>18064753
Fuck both. Go to a cc and pay next to nothing while working. You'll learn first hand what kind of work you like and what field you want to go into. Then transfer to a place that not obly has a good program, but is in an area with that job market. Also assume you'll be living there for a while, don't move back home unless the industry is there.
This may take a few extra years but you'll save a ton of time in the end.
>>18064768
thanks for the advice, however I already know that I want to go into investment banking/high finance, and so a good degree will matter. Does your method work for that type of job?
How much money do your parents earn? I'm not sure the exact number, but I believe Harvard gives free tuition to anyone whose parents earn less than $60000 per year.
So yeah, theres a lot of grant money out there for smart, poor kids.
As for your question about the importance of the name of your school: it's hard to say. Has a lot to do with what field you want to go into.
If you want to go into something "soft" (like journalism, for example) your college's name matters a lot potentially.
Generally, the "harder" the discipline is that you go into, the less important the name of the school. Engineers from MIT probably make money comparable to similarly intelligent students from a run-of-the-mill state school, for instance.
One thing I can promise you, though, is that at an Ivy you will be working much harder to get the same grades as you would have to at a state U (even a prestigious one like Berkeley).
>posted a couple days ago about having drunk sex with oneitis and her regretting it
>after she told me, I felt like shit all day though I tried to hide it behind a smile
>get some sleep last night, go to church, come back and tell her I'm sorry for my part in us having sex while she was in that state
>also tell her that maybe it's just not for us and that hopefully we can just go back to the way things were before without the background noise of attraction
>she tells me she is relieved and that she noticed my body language was off yesterday and that she was up all night thinking about it and hasn't gotten much sleep since that night because it's been on her mind
>think everything is fine
>her body language is closed and she's even quieter than usual
>wonder why she cares so much that it kept her up for two days if it was just meaningless drunken regret sex
I'm so confused.
>>18064674
Were you drunk too? If so, no need to apologize. People do stupid things when drunk.
But if you were sober then you shouldn't have slept with her.
>>18064674
Why didn't you tell her you were into her?
>>18064683
fuck off consent nazi
>>18064683
We were both drunk.
>>18064722
She knows I'm into her. Told her a few days before we got together.
i smoked half a ten sack yesterday. i havent smoked in 2 months before that
how long will it stay detectable in my system
i exercise regularly. i have an average metabolism. maybe 2 weeks? 3 weeks?
shouldn't smoke weed if you're worried about it being left in your bloodstream
>>18064681
never thought of that. any idea how long itll be my system?
>>18064684
not any longer than 3 months. could be couple days. who knows
There is this cute girl at my bus stop, and in these days I'm trying to make a huge effort by leaving my comfort zone. I'd like to start to talk to strangers, starting with this girl, the problem is that usually they say "what's the problem? You'll never see them again in your life!" But this time it's different. If I fail, if I say something very stupid, I'm doomed because I'll have to see her for the coming years. What should I do?
Same here... Need an answer
Sounds like you should just keep it casual then and not think of it as a big deal, because she won't. You don't know anything about this girl so stop getting ahead of yourself and expecting to develop a connection. Just keep conversation light, organic and non-committal.
>>18064639
Start with casual observations, maybe even a "good morning."
I hate my hometown but I'm angry that I some how always wound up back to it. I graduated college with a STEM degree, got many interviews (I sent out 120 applications), but no jobs. Side note: Fuck companies that make me take days off of work and travel a long ways and not even offer to compensate me.
Backstory:
Now I'm back with my parents. I'm gracious I have a home, but fuck this town. I'm trying to apply to job any normal job but can't get anything because this town has no industry and is dying because people are leaving it for how pathetic it is. I can't get a job at restaurants because I have a degree and people won't hire me.
This town has no scenery and nothing to do other than alcohol and it is literally just farmland. That's all. I'm an outdoorsy person, but I can't even go on a walk anywhere. The people here are nice and hardworking, but like any small town person, they're stuck in their conservative Trump bubble ("racism doesn't exist!") and have no idea how the world works. I have nothing in common with these people.
There's no culture here either; we have one bar that's about to close and we had a pizzeria that the owners burned down for the insurance money. I often feel out of place for being a minority, having a mental disability, and having different interests. Even growing up, I told my parents I didn't feel at place and they just told me to not worry about my interests and just fit in with everyone else's norms.
I can't believe I've spent my whole life here and somehow put up with it (I just blocked out everything negative rather than dealt with it), but now I've been feeling angry and found this a reasonable scapegoat. I'm trying to leave and just move on with my life, but no matter what I do, I get wound up back here.
The question is, /adv/ why am I angry about growing up in a town that I had no control over? And does anyone else hate where they live and want out? I want to live in a place like the picture here.
>I sent out 120 applications
>no job
How is this even possible??
>>18064613
Are you 12?
>>18064613
120 is about normal these days for job applications.

So someone went on my instagram and deleted a bunch of my instagram's and unfollowed people. I'm really angry and worried that they did other stuff that I can't see. I'm pretty sure they got access to my instagram through my gmail, which someone must have guessed the password to. I have a strong suspicion that it's my ex boyfriend that I broke up with last month. I changed all my passwords and everything but again, I'm very angry about this.I have a strong suspicion that it's my ex-boyfriend who I broke up with last month. What can I do about this? Is there anyway I can find out who did this?
Oops, didn't realize I said the same thing twice
>>18064591
gmail keeps a record of ip addresses that access your account, go down to the very bottom right and click details where it says something like "Last account activity: 5 hours ago Details"
>>18064601
How do I track an IP address? Plus what if they logged in from a computer thats not theirs? (Like on a public computer in a library, or something)
How can I go about finding out if someone is a Catfish or not?
To make a long story short I matched with a girl on Bumble today and we have been texting. Something about her just seems "off." I reversed Google image her pictures and nothing came up. I can't seem to find her on Facebook either. How can I lowkey ask her for a picture of herself to make sure she is real? Is there anything else you could recommend doing?
Try to escalate the interaction to snapchat or some other form of social media. What seems off to you? Example text?
>>18064578
no one of value doesn't have a facebook, get her facebook
>>18064627
>>18064631
I reversed searched her phone number and it says that the number belongs to some 50 year old woman lol. I deleted her for the app and blocked her number.
What made me seem off was that she claimed she was a lawyer at 25.... that seems really young...

That's not medically advisable.
/adv/ i need some help
There's this girl in my class that I want to ask out but i'm a beta faggot who stutters as often as Neil Patrick Harris does anal so what should I do
>>18064506
Hey /pol/, aren't you supposed to be saving the White race right now by praising Dylann Roof and being an alpha Chad by fucking all them stupid women?
>>18064506
Ask her out.
convince neil patrick harris to stop doing anal
Yo /adv/, what can you guys tell me about trying to see a girl who's in a long-distance thing?
>>18064490
So you want to make a move on a girl with a LDR? Did she show any sliver of interest in you?
I guess it's more of a stealing her from the long-distance guy.
>>18064511
Yeah, that's the thing. You can't "steal" her unless she is, you know, into you. So is she? Or not?
Is my new gf sexy?
>>18064480
Why should it matter to us?
>>18064480
This is not /b/, look for the other board on the top bar.
>>18064484
because 4 chan is paying you to give people like me opinions and tell us how to think for ourselves
So, I have a big problem, I can't make myself drink water sometimes. My body rejects it so much and I drink very little water from day to day. How do I fix this?
How exactly does your body reject it? It's not that hard? Just get a bottle and sip something from it everytime.. idk.. the commercial is on or whatever. As soon as you got used to that increase it
How much water do you drink per day? Don't believe the bullshit of 2 litres per day, that is way too much for me
>>18064442
I second this what the hell do you mean your body rejects it? do you vomit it out? Do you get the runs and it passes right through you? I need an explanation.
>you want a woman
>she's the only woman you have ever truly loved
>she has feelings for you to a degree
>you share a huge amount of things together and trust each other
>she's already in a serious relationship
>her boyfriend knows about you and gave her an ultimatum to stop seeing you
what would you do?
>>18064343
stop being a fool and find a woman that can be loyal to a man and not cultivate others while in a relationship. Disappear from her life.
>>18064343
Nothing, it's her decision
I wouldn't be in that situation to begin with. People who go after people in a relationship are either lowlife or stupid, but usually both.
