Hi /adv/. Because of my eating disorder, for the past five or so years I've idolized sickly thin girls. Now I realize that these girls are obviously too thin, and that it isn't a reasonable goal to look like them. The problem now is that I've idolized them for so long that I honest to god don't know what looks healthy and what is too skinny. Pic related is what I consider a healthy, good looking weight bc I can't see all of her ribs or anything. But I know if I were to show my boyfriend, he'd tell me that's still too thin. What does a healthy girl look like? :^(

I am average looking and managed to get a lot of matches on my first day having it a while back (realise it seems to be the way you're alwats gonna get more matches when you first get tinder but w/e). Ended up matching with/then meeting with who is now my girlfriend in no time at all. This isn't a brag, i'm just like you i'd assume. Anyway here would be my 3 main tips from my experience, but others may disagree as i think some is more personal preference:
- Use 4 or 5 pics. make sure your main pic is a nice one of JUST you. have 1 or 2 with friends. i guess 1 'selfie' shot is fine but don't have all your pics just you in a mirror.
- I prefer to have a short bio. Mine was something like 'uhh hey wanna go get a burrito or something??' probably nothing that special, but to me i prefer that rather than a big list of what im into and my height etc.
- Don't just message girls you match with 'Hey'. i normally would ask just some shitty question or like 'would you rather legs for arms or arms for legs' or whatever. writing this down here sounds kind of lame, but i would 95% get at least some kind of convo going.
Remember girls have a shit ton more guys to pick from than guys have for girls. also you could probably take or leave any of my advice depending what you're looking for on tinder. i was generally open to anything but decided to gear my profile more towards actually finding someone i could have some stuff in common with rather than making it look like i was just looking for nsa hookups. if that makes sense. also im based in the UK if that makes any difference. sorry for the ramble, good luck

I'm 19, Have a lot of insecurity at the moment, very worried my parents might know I'm gay. Don't really feel great about it. I'm really not sure if I want to know if I'm gay or not but still. I have some examples, maybe someone could help?
pros
I've always been really *REALLY* straight acting, I'm not very effeminate, I think I was pretty mature for the most part growing up. Never really got into trouble, ever, especially considering my mom knew some teen who assaulted his girlfriend and went to prison. I've been seen with girls flirting with me which my mom saw. (although unfortunately I never really showed any interest in the girls when my mom asked about them, but i doubt thats anything) Usually pretty responsible too, so maybe they think I'm just too busy for girls? Frequently clean up their house for them.
cons
I'm tall, but also very slim, had longer hair for a while. Never dated any girls through high school. I've shaved my legs occasionally where I think they noticed, i don't participate in sports but i have bragged how fit I am, and I always have shaved my forearms, which my dad made a comment about..
I've also mistakenly left some gay stuff open on my browser while showing her some emails occasionally, although at most it was just a thread kind obscured in another window, and a hidden window that was shown when I right clicked chrome really quick.
My mom has also been facetious lately, maybe. She was talking to my aunt the other day and basically told her something like "I don't think (me) cares if girls come" Don't know the full extent of the conversation, but yeah.
She also said something strange essentially implying that I'd never get married or have kids, then paused for a bit, kinda took it back?
I don't really know. They're very puzzling sometimes.

If you feel worthless enough to swallow that and think of your wife highly i'd recommend you stay with her and make sure no one else knows of this, having said that it will probably be able to happen again, if you act though or weak won't change it. How do you cope with how society seems to be headed? Honestly, it's gotten me very depressed to look at how crappy society is to minorities and women. With literal nazis gaining power, a large number of people vocal against people of color and LGBT people, people actively against women and still trying to undermine them in nerd culture and in general (also only seeing them as sex objects).

Is it just me or maybe the city I live in? I live in Springfield Massachusetts and dating here has been relatively aids.

What alcohol related health issues can cause back pain?
I have been living with my older brother since I was about 20, I decided to continue to live with him because I worry about him. He's a "functioning alcoholic", He has a job and pays all the bills and everything but he drinks very heavy heavily every day.
He drinks 1.5 gallons (3 handles) of 100 proof vodka a week and takes Valium as well from time to time (he doesn't have a prescription for this, Idk where he gets it).
The last two days he has been complaining about back pain and has had trouble sleeping because of it, I'm fairly sure he didn't injure himself physically by falling or something because I've been off work this entire week and have been with him almost the entire time.
He has been drinking this heavily for about 9-10 years, He has bad PTSD from serving overseas and he absolutely will not go to a doctor period. No matter what I say or do
He broke 3 fingers last year when he was drunk and he wouldn't go to the doctor.
Does it sound serious or is it likely just malnutrition, A pulled muscle, or something like that?
He say's the pain is in his upper part of his back towards his right side and It's a sharp pain, But he says if he positions himself correctly he doesn't feel it.
