You don't just move to another country like that. Either you've got to have a job waiting (and a legit employer to confirm this to the immigration officials) or a spot in a local uni you can prove with relevant documents. In both cases you also need to have evidence that you can support your living there, before visa application will be accepted. Under current immigration laws, you can't just swing over and hope something happens to make it possible for you to stay.

The way I understood it, was they cannot hire foreigners unless they can prove they can't find a qualified brit to take the job.
Meaning you have to be more qualified than a brit applying for the job. And since you have literally zero qualifications for anything as a high school drop out, literally ANYONE is more qualified than you, even a fucking brit high school drop out, just because he's a Brit.

If you aren't interested in someone then just flat out tell them and then say fuck off if they don't get it the first time around.

Do you know how annoying it is when a guy gets a girl's number and she'll text back and act "polite" but has no intention of taking it further? If you aren't interested just say no. Any decent guy will just say "okay w/e" and move on with his life.

go old school, paper is the best way to read because its what your brain is accustomed to.

leave your phone at home and go read outside. you'll have nothing to do without your phone being ten inches away and actually pay attention to the book.

Go some place without distractions for the sole purpose of reading. The library, a park, a cafe, etc. Do it often enough and eventually you'll finish the book. Maybe you'll rediscover the joy of reading and can do it at home too later on, despite the potential distractions. College killed my reading habit, because there was so much mandatory stuff to read. It was sort of difficult to return to it after, but building a habit around it helped. Setting specific times and places where to read is useful to get you going.

Start with easy reads mate. If you like video games, then read video game books.

For example, I'm in the exact same scenario as you (sans the text-skipping in games, you monster) - even bought an e-reader and didn't touch it for years too. But, i recently started reading all The Witcher books as a buildup to playing the games, and holy shit, it's so fun. For the first time in a decade im spending hours unable to stop reading!

I'm going to use the momentum to keep going with other books after this.

By going out of your comfort zone to discover new things, some of these things you will consider "what you truly want". But you won't know unless you try.

I went to bed feeling more positive than I thought possible, but then based on the texts from the next day, I was certain this girl was just not into me.

I told this story to a friend and she seems to think I'm fucking stupid, that I pissed the girl off by going home and that no girl would sit with me for 3.5 hours if she wasn't into me. I said she was just a girl who likes to meet new people and chatted with someone semi-interesting for an evening and that was all.

I need affirmation that she really was just not into me and that I am not stupid. Or just your thoughts on the whole scenario.

As for the girl, if things are going good then I don't see any reason why you should give it up because of what some shmucks say. It's better presume her innocence then to screw it up because of insecurity, trust is necessary for relationships.
