I'm no expert but I'm fairly sure that it's not different enough from other apps out there to distinguish it. Happn for example is an app that is more like a regular dating profile than tinder (I think, from the descriptions I read) and based on who lives/moves near you and you cross paths with already naturally. I do think that's cool, but I woul add another twist that sets it apart. Like people needing to present a bit of text that cannot concern literally their own person, instead of a profile picture. (A favorite quote, an everyday observation, an opinion, whatever. Or even what they think a good friendship looks like, or what activity they would most like to enjoy with a new acquaintance.) Basically leave the hook up stuff straight behind and head for a whole other way of sparking potential interest.

And yeah I would drop the hook up part in this case. I think those kind of apps rely much more on being hip and flashy and in that regard you're not going to win with compatiblity over sexy pictures.

Get your proper comp sci degree first. You can always make video games on your own or get a programmer job with a comp sci degree.
Game developers are overworked and underpaid. Ideas are cheap, so unless you have the backbone to put the work in just give up. Chances are you're gonna end up working overtime not seeing your friends and family to realize someone else's dreams.
Thats not to say you shouldn't do it but if i where you I'd keep my options open. I've worked as a game tester / debugger for a big company for a while and man the people there are basically zombies on coffee. So I went the indie way.
When I started I was already half way thorough my phy chem major. So it was too late to switch to anything computer related. I knew a bit of mathlab and python. Though myself C++ in about a year, worked with OpenGl and OpenAL for a while, made some prototypes, hit some walls. First real obstacle was the fact that i can't draw or animate. My girlfriend at the time did however so i slave drove her to do a lot of volunteer work however after we broke up i was on my own, however at that point I've seen enough shit to be able to take care or most of the animation and drawing myself.
It takes me about 3 weeks to get a working prototype from scratch now. Thing is I'm out of ideas. Haven't worked on a project in 3 months.

Cybersecurity doesn't require a degree, and it isn't hard to get into an average university to study Cyber/Info security. Shit, I got an offer to study Info Sec and I didn't even really want to, I just applied for the heck of it with mediocre high school grades. Didn't take it but if I can get an offer then you can easily if you managed to get a full scholarship for it before.

What's difficult about learning it yourself if you have that passion in you already? You said you've worked on the skills and done projects, all you need to do now is look at a uni syllabus and copy it, learn everything they would learn from the same books and make an amazing portfolio that proves you actually have those skills.

As far as I have seen, most software related jobs don't actually require a degree, and even if they ask for one, they will test you anyway. There's always a way to get into a job though, you know those guys that stand with signs asking for jobs in public places? They are using unconventional ways of getting a job, you don't just have to do the sheeple way of applying online and then killing yourself when they don't respond. Go knock on some doors and do some self-pitching and show off your work and skills.
