I’ll try to be brief.
A few years ago my widowed grandfather married a woman from the church he attended. Her daughter recently told them that she was diagnosed with stage four cancer, specifically in the lymph nodes, throat, behind the lungs, and breast, and gave her six months to live if she did not get treatment. This would obviously require extensive treatment, and my grandfather conveniently has plenty of money to cover expenses.
We were originally told that she was going to have surgery followed by a double dose of chemo every day for two weeks. Later on they said that there were two delays in the chemo treatment - The first time ecause the doctor did not sign the correct authorization, and the second time because they neglected to order the chemo medication materials. Now I was recently told that they delayed the treatment because they wanted her to heal from the surgery. They requested that my grandfather pay for treatment that was out of their insurance network to the tune of $175,000.
She had surgery two weeks ago to remove some of the tumors. Yesterday, she had a double dose of chemo. In the same day. The doctors now say that most of the cancer cells are killed and that she will only will require chemo once every three weeks.
Is this possible? Otherwise, how can I can convince my grandfather that he is being screwed over?

I'm 26, and in just over 2 years I've become office manager at my job (the largest auto auction in the state). Also, UPS is almost always hiring. The work can be difficult/mundane, but they offer alright benefits and competitive pay, and most positions are 6 hour shifts tops.
Like another anon mentioned, you might also try filling an art niche. I've seen some people blow up just painting simple symbols (like a yellow loop) and selling those. There are also people who have good business just from selling minerals or painted rocks...
As a final option, you could play the Ebay/Craigslist game. Pick up free/cheap shit and resell it at a higher price.

Said bye to a group of friends I've known for a long time now because I realized they only hung out with me cause they pitied me.
I mean if not for them I would never have known the kind of person I was but at the same time it fucking pisses me off. They completely toyed with me. I used to be on track for school, finished 2 years of college with ROTC and they made me feel inadequate. That because I didnt do the things they did or acted the way they did they completely tore me down. Now I cant even find a job, I have more trust issues than I can afford to deal with, and on top of that my family is fucking broke because my parent lost nearly a million in a business venture they knew nothing of.
So not only do i not have to secure my own financial needs but theres this pressure that's tearing me from the inside out. Every waking moment I spend an hour cursing at myself for not having opened my eyes.
I dont know what to do, I'm broke, i have no friends or connections, Im distant from my family and enlisting or killing myself looks more appeasing than wasting my life doing absolutely nothing....

This will pass anon, no matter how bad it seems you are only able to think about the worst case senario, but your not taking into account the random blessings the universe gives us, for one you are becoming more self aware, that in itself is a gift that will help bring you to where you want to be, you are rid of fake friends, now you can make room for real ones! There's plenty of other options nowadays for people not yakking the college route to still make lots of money and be successful. Ie learning a trade or something like that
College isn't for everyone. I was an all A student who breezed through high school above all my classmates without doing any studying or anything like that. Only reason I'm going to college is because of scholarships i go free. Otherwise honestly i wouldn't, it just feels like a big waste of time

My roommate's been dating this girl for as long as I've known him and they always seem happy and in love. I think I heard them get in a fight once but mostly they never have tension. The door shakes several times, and once I see it crack open then immediately slammed shut. Idk why I didn't get up and do something I think I was just so shocked at what was going on. I didn't want to believe it. I never imagined these two in this situation. I thought about leaving but I was afraid something worse might happen, so I just went to my room and slammed the door really hard. I went between listening to her crying to make sure she was still alright and hiding my head in my pillow.
Later on in the evening I heard them in the living area. She still sounded extremely upset, she was begging to leave. She kept saying, "I swear I won't tell anyone. I just want to go home." Then I heard something crash and footsteps running. Then he was running out after.

I was hoping it was just a misunderstanding, and I was hoping that I could just pretend it never happened. After that I figured I would never see her again. Whatever happened, it would just get to fade to the back of my mind. I mean, I was hoping for that. I knew there was one scenario where it was all legit and I would have to testify against my friend or some shit.

This whole semester, for 4 months, I smoked daily out of a gravity bong bucket with a half cut liter bottle as the neck. I changed the water, but my stupid ass was too careless to change the bottle. My BF told me because he was so mad at how my aunt and uncle acted. His dad also called me a few weeks ago and implied he wanted to get me a car so I kind of had a feeling. Apparently I'm getting the car next weekend but I know my aunt will try to start shit about how I shouldn't accept the car for some reason or I need to give her my current car back even though it's under my name.
Maybe there's no advice to give. I'm just worried this will turn into Romeo and Juliet and our families will end up hating each other out of an act of kindness.

He is! He's a goofball but also a hard worker. I think he and my uncle butt heads sometimes because they both own their own businesses and are successful but run things differently. My uncle follows the rules, makes plans, and likes security while my BF's dad bends the rules, goes with the flow, and takes risks.
I figured it'd be fair to transfer the title of my current car to him since he paid for the new car himself. He works with cars so I'm sure he can sell the working parts for scraps or wait to get a good deal on the part needed to fix the car and sell it as a whole. My aunt and uncle kind of run my side of the family though so if I piss them off I'm sure they'll find a way to make me regret it.
