$50k or more a year definitely can't be considered bad for somebody in your situation, especially if you have assets such as a car or home.

If you want to be considered attractive based on money alone, it depends on where in life the woman is (typically, the closer they are to 45, the more desperate they become). You'd probably need to be landing at least 6 figures a year to impress a 30 year old woman, whereas any sort of stable income that isn't high school dropout-tier will be good if her ovaries have dried.

There is nothing you can do. He has chosen his path. You can offer support and advice when you see an opening but the help you offer can't be at a detriment to yourself and you can't drive yourself crazy trying to help someone who doesn't want it.

There is also a fine line between helping him and enabling him. Its good that you care for your brother but unfortunately there isn't a whole lot you can do that you haven't already done.
