Does anyone have any advice for dating/getting a gf as an immigrant? I speak fluent Spanish (mother tongue is English) and I feel like I live in a pretty similar way to the locals, the only things that make me stand out are my pale skin and accent which is gradually getting less thick.
Which kinds of places should I hang out to meet girls that don't see foreigners as being beneath them?

You're over analyzing the situation mate. It's not your fault, the brain just does it cuz you see her as a suitable partner. Think nothing of it. Move on, possibly try to even avoid her, or flat out tell her you don't want her near you anymore. Or if she goes to sit in your seat, find a new one.

ITT: Relationship worries ahead
My girlfriend and I dated for about 10 months last year before things ended. It was a wonderful relationship (we have never had a big fight), but there were certain hurdles that we knew were going to be big; the key one was that I have dreamed of working and living in New York City, and she didn’t. Six months later we reconnected and got back together; she wants to work through the troubles we never talked about before and it’s been wonderful. And now I have a job in Manhattan. We have started talking about moving in together (we had been talking about it before the breakup), but I guess all the moving parts so fast have me a little nervous. The first thing is that initially we’ve talked about moving in together outside the city before moving into Manhattan; she’s talked about going to school in the city next year but I guess I’m scared that if she doesn’t get in she won’t want to move in. I know I need to have a talk with her about it, but given our lack of actual fights I guess I’m nervous what a big relationship fight will be like.
TL:DR, talks about moving in with the girlfriend have me worried I won’t be able to live in my dream city. Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Alright. I want some thoughts and advice to sort out how my current situation. I talked to this girl I liked last year. I have intense feelings for her but she is in a relationship, which I respect. I was about to drop her but her and I became best friends. Her name is Michelle. (Fake name for the sake of explaining.)
Michelle is the single most kindest goddamn person on this earth. I'm perplexed at how positive and nice she can be. She has incredible social skills too, resulting in her being able to see right through me. Michelle and I have a bond that I only have with 2 people. Michelle understands me on some other level, though. She's a foreign student so we talk constantly over the phone and through texting.
I'm not sure how to feel. I'm confused since we're close and I also want to go out with her. Since I can't, I settled on being her friend, which has been positive. I realized that I'm not quite on her level of maturity and I want to improve myself so that I can truly be her equal. I respect her so much. I'm just surprised at how this has turned out.
Your thoughts?

So I am applying to graduate schools (US) soon for a Masters in electrical engineering and need help deciding the best way to end up in the PhD program at ETH Zurich.
I plan to apply to ETH Zurich, EPFL, Stanford, UIUC, and a few more top US schools for my masters. ETH is a long shot for masters due to the amount of coursework I am missing with how their EE bachelors is set up so rule that out for now.
Now assuming I get into every other grad school I apply for, which would best set me up for a PhD at ETH Zurich? Would EPFL be best, being the "sister" school of ETH? Or would going to a top name like Stanford or UIUC be just as good or better?
Just wanted to know if they are about equal so I can make the final decision based on financial aid.
End goal is working/living in Switzerland and becoming a dual citizen. Visited there twice for a while and absolutely love it.

I am just asking if anyone knows if a Swiss MS will look better or not for admission into ETH Zurich PhD. I know the application is directly to the professors so maybe they have a preference. I will get into Stanford and UIUC for MS, etc.. it is unlikely I won't given my stats (says my professor and advisors). Getting funding to those places is all I'm worried about. If I applied to them for PhD it would be more up in the air as well, but MS applications are much easier.

I need some med fags and psychology fags in this thread ASAP. Got a situation on my hands.
I'm diagnosed as schizotypal. Got an important psychology question over an issue i'm having. Sometimes if i'm in a confrontational situation where somebody is mean to me, I have this weird reaction. This strong sensation of pressure appears behind my forehead and at the top of my head closest to my forehead.
It normally never goes away until the situation gets reconciled. But in this case the reaction has been triggered and they're gone so I can't do that. So i'm stuck in that reaction atm and I don't really know how to make that pressure go away. I know I will be in this for a long time because I was stuck in it for a week before it was reconciled last time. It was horrible.
Getting trapped in this reaction is like a worst fear of mine and now its happening. Does anybody know how to snap me out of this and make the pressure go away? What is it? Trapped emotion? Do I need to cry? Wtf is this?

It's dissociation, I have it too. Basically your mind is shielding itself from your emotions. Do you also feel you're watching yourself in 3rd person? As far as I know it's never permanent, but it can be recurring. Somewhat like a panick attack.

Even if you play random video games or whatever else, you will. Shit, I had a lot of opportunities to make friends in my srs gaming phase... though of course I only met a few multiple times IRL, their and my travel expenses are an issue in these cases.

I need help involving immigration and work here in the USA
I am an Iranian national asylum seeker. My case is currently being processed, and I apply for Work Authorization using my political asylum in order to work here. however back in January my lawyer advised me to apply for DACA- which is a policy that help kids who were brought over here from being deported. This was in January, now it is june and my file has not been approved yet. The reason being I filed under DACA and not under my normal political asylum.
My employment authorization expired on June 8, so technically im not supposed to be working right now. My company just changed payrolls, so I had to submit a new i9 form and for the EAD expiration date I just put N/A
What do I do? I'm FUCKED. Do I submit a new i765 for work authorization using political asylum? It will take one-two months to get my card. In the meantime I will probably be let go of my job and that is stressing me out. God knows when my DACA and EAD will get approved.
