How do you know if you are compatible with someone if you have never met irl? I've been dating someone I've met online the past month. We are planning on meeting towards the end of July. We talk and skype daily but I am extremely worried meeting in person might ruin things. I am very experienced with sex and relationships while he is not. This is my first LDR and I am not sure what to expect.

I think I may have them. Just got out of the shower and noticed a burn on my leg when the water hit it. Fucking red bumps all along my thigh.
I turned over my mattress and box spring and saw nothing along the lines of a rusted area or saw anything moving.
I don't know how I should proceed with this? Instantly call someone? Anything I can do for the time being to make sure I'm not dinner for some fucking swarm of bugs? How the fuck did I even go about getting these things? Am I freaking out too early? Am I a disgusting human being for having them?

I'm a scientist and on the brink of a breakthrough. Research that I spent a large part of my life on. A different way of solving computational problems opening an area with so many possibilities and opportunities. I expect the impact large enough to not publish too early.
I have always refused commercial connection because I know that commerce would make it extremely difficult to access.
But my funds (and more) have depleted. I expected to hold out till the end of the year but I won't make it. I tried to work an extra job that backfired because it took away too much focus and concentration.
I Feel I have this choice: survive, dump 20 years research, man up, get a job, feel 'lost everything' forever
OR headon, burn friends and family to finish and publish. Being alone until the end.
I'm also getting panic attacks that nobody will understand what its all about. Had that before and it ruined me.
What must I find important?
What am I not seeing?

To escape the "publish or perish" I funded this whole endeavour privately from money I earned in the Big IT business. Think half way 7 digit number.
And its fundamental research. will I now fail because no one will believe I did because it is 'not done' and without a sponsor. A sponsor I expect to demand things I don't agree to.
Someone recently said that there has not been an major technological advancement in Computer Science, and that there is a general waiting for an out-of-the-box thought. And that this has the potential to be just that trigger. Does this opinion have value?

I just turned 18, I'm graduating highschool early, and I have a lot of ambition to tackle my career here and now. I decided to be a pilot because I feel like it'll give me a jump on money and other skills. I'll join the military since they can help me with college tuition and I'm not sure on which branch would be best but the coast guard will give me extra because I scored well on the PICAT (90). I know the air force is an obvious choice. Sometimes I get cornered thinking about the weight of my decision and I really want to know if there are any loopholes in my plan or if there's anything I can do that'll help me more than what I could think. And if someone could help me decide on a branch that would be good too. Btw I do feel a connection to the military rather than using it as an easy way out.

joining the military as a pilot is a good career choice. Join the branch that you will enjoy the most. I'd go with the Coast Guard since they will give you more, but the inter-military banter is rough on Coasties. CG pilots do lots of rescue and transport missions, Air Force do everything, Navy pilots are elite and astronauts.

Become a warrant officer pilot in the army. You do not need a college degree. I'm pretty sure this is the only way to become a pilot in the US millitary without one.

what kind of pilot do you want to be? military? civilian? you are talking about ambition and money? most career and money are to made in the civilian sector or private aviation sector. especially nowadays the airliners are struggling to find experienced people.
If its career and money you are looking for I strongly advice to do a modular course train yourself to an cpl me ir within 4 months for about 30k usd and find a flight instructing job, build hours to approx 1000-1500 and get yourself into one of the big airlines.

My friend has gotten involved in politics, except they've studied economics. Although they can see an overlap in knowledge, they're worried they'll lack any political science knowledge.

You don't need to know anything about political science to be a good politician. A lot of politicians are or have been lawyers, doctors or bankers.
What you need is a good general education, a very good network, charisma, and flexible morals.
That said, good reading for all aspiring politicians includes "Il Principe" by Machiavelli, the orations of Cicero, and some general historical works because politicians don't get away with historical blunders.

Last September I moved back in with my parents after my gf broke up with me. This isn't a break up thread though.
At the time I decided I wanted to save up and finally buy myself a home. Fast forward nearly a year and I have 30k in savings, but the housing market is absolutely retarded. I live in Phoenix Arizona and you cannot buy a decent home for less than 250k.
I considered renting a 1 bed room apartment and that is even worse. I make about 2300 a month, and again, any 1 bed room apartment in decent condition is going for 1200$ a month.
My parents are not trying to kick me out or anything but I am 27 years old and I feel like I am wasting the end of my 20s by living with them. I'm not sure what to do. I don't really have any friends I could rent with and make rent affordable.
Do I just need to ride out this bullshit housing market because these prices surely have to drop at some point? Is there a way to find better rent prices? I'm just looking on zillow which I've heard is innacurate sometimes...
