Anyone ever hooked up with someone from craigslist? Is tinder a better option?
20 posts and 0 images submitted.

Yes and yes
>>
>>18511070
Elaborate my fellow
>>
>>18511056

tinder has the masses, but as a result there is more competition. Actually attractive women are afraid to post on craigslist because it feels more anonymous, it feels more sketchy and ANYONE can see their ad. its easier to use tinder where you can just pretend its a regular dating site and have like 3 pictures of you looking cute and not seeming desperate.

CL is dead for straights.

Residential painting? I just get somewhere between daydreaming and Karate Kid mindfulness, and I enjoy it. I am not a professional, though. I've only painted a few times.

My stepdad was a union painter, Local 19, and he loved residential. He did entire walls with a brush because he loved residential so much, and liked the brushed look better.
>>
>>18511037
Yes painting is very repetitive. Dunk Dunk the roller - roll roll it on the screen. Then onto the wall up down over a little up down Dunk Dunk repeat.

Does being fat make you stronger?

My brother was always a gentle guy and didn't partake too much in sports. He's a good deal overweight, although he's been doing light strength training for some months.

Details aside, he punched someone in the gut and the guy let out a bloodcurdling cry. He doubled over in pain and was out of the fight.

I was pretty surprised because he was never much of a fighter. He's 6'1 and 250 lbs. Is there some secret in fat?

>>
>>18511024
Stronger? Absolutely not.

Able to cause more harm, certainly.

All about inertia. Think of a paper ball vs a baseball thrown at you 50mph. More mass means the baseball will have a higher inertia thus a greater force when it hits you compared to the paper one

In general because the fat person moves more weight for a punch, then inertia will be higher thus the force will be greater on whatever it hits (assuming he can punch)
>>
>>18511024
No, being fat does not make you stronger. The reason he made that guy keel over is because of the strength of the punches which comes from his height and weight. It's the reason why boxers have weight classes.
>>
>>18511024
Fat literally acts as cushion when you get hit by something in a padded area. That's its only benefit in a fighting situation. As the prior anon has stated, however, it doesn't really make you stronger. You'll get slightly stronger, as much as is required to require your additional bodyweight and no more, it isn't significant enough to benefit you. Your brother most likely got likely and hit his opponent in a weak area: The diaphragm, the kidneys, or anywhere his unique connective tissue dictates there's tension. I have a bizarre muscular and skeletal system as a result of a congenital defect. It's a hindrance overall, but I have no pressure points and no muscular weaknesses. You could crush the inside surface of my elbow and I wouldn't feel it, whereas other people would experience intense pain.

I started seeing a girl in our senior year of college. Due to how crazy things were, we agreed to take it nice and slow. Fast forward to now, we've been in a nice, small-distance relationship. For a variety of factors, we have not had sex yet - I'm dealing with a lot of baggage and her life is a big mess - so we just have taken it one step at a time. It's been an overwhelmingly positive relationship.

I'm going away to graduate school, and she is staying back home. This is fine, and we've talked about it. We know it will take work.

She informed me today that what she thought was a UTI/yeast infection (she is prone to both) has turned out to be herpes. She let me know as soon as she found out, and I am getting tested Friday. As we have not had sex (no genital contact, no oral), and have both been abstinent for 6 months, I am relatively sure I do not have it. But as it can lay dormant in women (or men, although usually its more common for women) I did not freak out.

Blah blah blah it's not a death sentence for us, and as I'm older (27) I am willing to keep going and see where this goes. At worst case I somehow got it, or could have it dormant - but then who gives a fuck, we're both positive. As it's clear that we have a deep emotional bond that was not formed on a hookup, I think we should keep on going. Medicine is only improving, and she may be "the one." She thought, and I honestly cannot blame her, that I would be angry and shame her. I didn't, since she didn't know, didn't show symptoms, never had any reason to think she may have it, and honestly could have gotten it YEARS ago. She was blown away that I'm not just cutting and running, which, if I don't have it... is an option, but I still care about her and don't want to throw out what we have because of a super-common disease that many fucking college age people have, is only a mild problem at worst, and even when people use protection it does not guarantee one doesn't pass the virus.

What do you think?

Stats said, at one time, that one in four people have it. If your feelings are real, it won't make one bit of difference.
>>
>>18511022
If (when) she leaves you, you will be left with HSV2.

It can cause birth complications for your future children, you will spread it to any future partners, and you can never get rid of it, bitch.
>>
>>18511045
Don't listen to the anons who have it
It's not normal to have it unless you got it by mistake not by having sex

Stay clean baby

Oh and before I forget, I would not date a man with a disease like that, not out of ignorance but out of self respect (yeah, I'm a girl) so if you break up and catch it amyway, say goodbye to decent girls

I know you like this girl but the sea is big and you should let the junkies be with junkies.

Do you think she only knows now she has it?. that's innocent of you Op
She can say "but it must have been dormant it's not my fault"!

People should be adults and check themselves constantly, she shows 0 signs of being a responsible person because of that

She knew all the time, she was just waiting for you to catch the feels so she can infect you know

That way you will say "fuck it, I'm in"

Oh but op, you never had the choice to begin with

I am trying to get into (snapchat) camwhoring. Made $50 without asking and now I'm hooked.

I am recently 18 and need an excuse to tell my mother as to how I made the money. I will be going to college soon so this is only a temporary issue.

We are poor and I am not independent (cannot drive & have no alternative source of money).

I'm sure the best thing to do would be to save the money and spend it when I'm living alone but I am materialistic and have little patience. My main objective is to buy clothes so she'd notice the new wardrobe and ask where I got the money.

What can I say about how I made the money? Something online is the only thing I can imagine. Ideally I will be making a steady income so a one time thing is not the best excuse.

Thanks!

Say you're a online tutor on creglosts/chegg or whatever. Even if money goes direct to you and has someone's info you can make it look like you are teaching someone. If you are getting money through venmo PayPal or the likes it's even harder for you parents to prove it and you can make up whatever you want. Unless you get money from chadurbate or pornhub/ etc then it's a little harder to cover it up. If you don't have your own bank account by now then get one, of you don't know your own legal info then lie and say it's for a scholarship

My mother has been having issues with my little brother for a while. He's 8, and he's constantly been a bad kid in school for the last two years. He apparently calls other kids named, and never listens.

We're trying to figure out how to fix him. My mother is starting to become sad because of this, because she's never dealt with it. I was a good child, I never got in trouble. This is new to her.

Please help me.

Teachers complain about him heavily. He's pretty much a bully.

We're confused, because he's never really been in a bad environment for him to turn out like this.
>>
>>18510971
Take him to therapy, a counseler or psychologist.

Youre mother is fooling herself if she thinks she can do it all on her own. Whether it is parenting style on your mother's part, general family dysfunction or related to his own personal nature your mother can not help hom without outside help.
>>
Children who act out in these ways usually have underlying issues. Take him to a therapist. Just because the environment he was raised in wasn't "bad" per say, doesn't mean it was the correct environment. Children who bully are often victims of bullying themselves, whether it be at home or at school. Was your moms parenting type more permissive or authoritarian? Maybe authoritative? Kids mimick what they see, I swear their brains are like sponges! A good way to deal with this is to teach empathy and sympathy, and also to find a way to get those emotions and energy out (i.e.; sports, art, etc)
Also, he could just be a little shit. Some kids are just fucking assholes, I work with 60+ of them, and the autistic kids during the summer.

I'm trying to figure something out. My friend and I have grown closer since we met last fall and I was afraid. I have had trouble opening up to people but this was very different. She was the type to ask a lot of questions and I felt like she was planning something.

She is very nice. Just, unmistakably kind but I snapped at her. I told her to stop prying at me and I regretted doing that. What she did next, shocked me. She admitted she has ulterior motives but she said she'll reveal them after we hang out and talk more.

I'm going to go with this. Whatever she has planned, it has to be important. The only thing is, I want to know if our friendship is real? What could she possibly doing in the first place?

I'm fat, not morbidly obese, just overweight. The girl i've been drooling over is also overweight. But all over I have been seeing that fat girls tend to be attracted only to very fit guys. I guess my question is, have you ever seen, met, or been in a relationship where both people were overweight? And was it strained or happy?

Maybe she's just one of his relatives/friends ?

Hey adv
I think I've fucked up, and I don't know how to fix it, or if I even can.

Was dating a girl for nearly 4 years, fell ill at the end of last year, dropped out of the aviation training course I was on.
Spent every day vomiting, nausea all the time, could barely leave the house, it's taken me nearly 6 months to recover, still lost some weight, have made some diet changes etc., might be starting work again by the end of the year.

In that time my girlfriend started talking to me less and less, stopped asking about my day, didn't tell me about hers or things she'd been doing.

She's sweet as hell, a great match for me, has put up with being a long distance relationship for years, but she has pretty bad Chronic Fatigue, I think she's depressed as well but that's not diagnosed
And I learned she'd reverted back to self-harming in the past few months (April)

I said that we can't keep stressing each other out like this, and we should have some time apart, she said she agreed with that but not that our relationship was over, and she'd still love me

In the mean time she's removed whatsapp from her phone, I asked if she'd be around for a catch up as I was passing her house the other week by text but no response
I wrote a letter but got no reply, but on the up side she did return my favourite hat.

Is the relationship dead forever? Should I just move on with my life? We're both fucked up humans but we fitted together quite well, even with all the flaws

I'm even driving past her home town this weekend
I could just arrive with flowers, and apologise

Is it worth it? Did I ruin this relationship beyond fixing, adv?

An hero isn't an option, I still have an aviation career to live for

I'm gonna give you a very balanced opinion, from a distance, here. Sometimes that's best to get through something intense and emotional like a heartache.

I'm not a guru, and my life doesn't reflect any sort of advanced skill at navigating difficult relationships, *but* this is my take on strained relationships

A strained relationship is often still positive *if* it is not monogamous. A strained business partnership, a strained friendship, a strained family relationship...Even though the relationship is hard at times, if it's ultimately positive, then there's nothing to lose. You can have more than one friend, more than one business partner, and more than only family member.

In something monogamous like romance, there is a lot to lose feeling like your *one* maybe doesn't want you.

Still, I would
-not confuse fact with feeling
-try to consider how she feels
-not necessarily throw the relationship away or do anything harsh

DO NOT DO ANY MORE OF THIS PUSH/PULL STUFF. ONLY BE POSITIVE TO HER. If she can't reciprocate, then that is not your problem to take on or deal with. Do you understand? I would like a reply to know you understand this part.

Hopefully you don't see my feedback as trying to guide you in any way, because that would be silly of me, and I can't tell what path is the best for you (especially not over 4chan).
>>
And about her cutting herself

I have to admit that it's a big red flag, even if I don't want to. No matter how nice a person is, them inflicting self-harm to deal with emotions by cutting themselves open and maybe scarring themselves is not okay with me.

I (and you most likely) judge people based on what the say, what they do etc. It's statistically proven for instance that someone having had too many sex partners and/or relationships in the past is less likely to have a successful marriage. So I (and probably you) use these facts about people to signal whether it's a good idea to emotionally invest in them or not.

People turn a blind eye to the cutting thing because they feel bad. Regardless, it's a gigantic red flag.

It probably looks like I'm trying to guide you away from this person at this point, but that is not the case. You have already invested a lot in this person, and you are probably impossible to dissuade (not that I'm trying to), so I'm not trying to dissuade you. I understand how you feel, having had severe problems and having fallen in love with someone who had severe problems.

I've seen really beautiful documentaries about GOOD people who were completely self-loathing and crazy, stories about how a husband was suffering from borderline personality disorder and would cut himself really badly, think about suicide every day.

As troubling as it was for his wife, he kept himself afloat at the same time as he supported his family very well, and I got the impression that he was much better to his wife than average.

So every individual case is different. I'm just trying to shed some light as an unbiased party here.

Whats it like to have money and a job? I am 25 years old and never had a job before. But I lie to my friends and family and tell them I have a job as a security guard at night. I currently have $24 in my bank account and wont be able to make my next CC payment. Its not that I dont want to get a job, its that im just too scared of failing.

I have made up some pretty elaborate lies with my fake job. Even making up a story that I caught a guy trying to sneak in then went on a hunt to find him through the made up facility that I work at. Anytime my friends ask me to go somewhere that requires money, I have to make up some excuse because I cannot afford it. I still live with my mom, but she is getting older and will probably pass away in a few years.

Wat do? Can I somehow live off the government?

Get a pizza delivery job or a dishwashing job at a restaurant. Both jobs were not fun, but I was desperate for money at the time. Pizza Hut is always looking for drivers and your hours won't be cut because you will be needed. Don't worry about failing, I was a pretty shitty driver who had problems finding the correct houses. They tolerated me during my learning process and I got better with delivering and multi-tasking in the kitchen. Dealing with shitty co-workers (the ones who screws up your orders) and shit managers is another story though.
It feels good to have financial freedom.

I am in desperate need of money, but having injured myself I can't rely much on temp agencies. An office job (data entry) replied to my resume but it's a 5 month contract work, and I'm planning on leaving in September. Should I take the job? And what are the pros and cons if I leave early?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>18510889

depends. is there any downfall to the contract its self? if an actor is in breach of contract he loses money. if this was just a temp job it would be fine but contract work has the word 'contract' for a reason. if a guy does a contract for say, fixing someones plumbing then just stops half way through, hes probably in breach of contract.
>>
>>18510898
data entry for a bank. I haven't seen the terms yet cause the interview is on Friday. I am confident that I'll get the job though.

They didn't say it was contracted in the job posting so I thought it was okay to apply, but they gave the news on their first phone call.

as simple as it sounds, its just as efficient:

take it slow

seriously, slowly get to know her before you fall for her, figure out is she a reasonable human being with problems, a nutjob or anything in between that may or not be worth your respect and love
>>
>>18510838
If you really like her you might aswell go with it right?

I think self harm is usually just a cry for attention. BUT, it can also be that you are in so much psychological pain and don't know what to do. You don't want to off yourself because ur not a coward. I tried when I was younger(once, someplace noone can see it). The day after I realized how stupid it was and people will just think more funny stuff about me if I keep doing it.

Sorry for hijacking your thread talking about myself.

Go for it, maybe she's the one and she'll never self harm again. Or maybe you break up and she returns to her misery, but it will never be your fault if she does these things(unless you do something you shouldn't).

Good luck
