Western Games in Development:
Western RPG Maker Games
Weird error. Normally there should be a file extension for pictures.
What I usually do is adding a copy of an existing character imageset with the name in the error. Your game might look weird, but it'll stop the crashes.
I found the file, so it could be a fuck-up by the translator.
This is probably a faux pas, but I just can't figure this out: Roundscape says it's cracked in the readme, but when I run the exe it says it requires a security key. Call me a faggot all you want, but what am I missing?
Hey, I figured this might be a weird question, but since it's a western erotic game, I feel it fits here. Does anyone here play the Barbarian Babes games Spacegirl Interrupted? I've played up until 5, but after that, I couldn't find anything else for it until one day, where I saw they were selling 6, 7, 8 on a website. I can't even find torrents for the last 3, it's fucking stupid. I found an ULMF link for the site, but nobody posted download links for this game, except for one faggot who only shared half of it and told people to buy the game.
Does anyone know where I can get the rest of these games? I just need closure at this point.
Here's the games if you wanna try them for yourself.
Nigga, it's a western erotic game. Porn happens in it, it was made in the west. Now calm your fucking tits, if you're not going to help me then fine, but I don't care what you do or don't consider to be considered a western erotic game.
There is a definite point to stop in the current version after you beat the cold bitch, and I've been grinding waiting fro the final update. It is probably the only thing I'm looking forward to right now
Since last thread somebody was asking for it, here's the last Sarah's Life:
I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to play this, but here we are.
Wait, didn't you go ahead and defeat the last heroine, the one with the sword that's behind it all?
Joy? No there is a point where we are all going to ship off the the tower she probably is in, and the Tower Mistress says we can't go back, so to use the upgrade system that isn't in the current version before we leave. So I've stopped there because I've been told everything past that point is barebones done. Plus I want to see what upgrades there are
>So I've stopped there because I've been told everything past that point is barebones done.
All right, makes sense, I just wanted to be sure you knew there was an actual ending after that.
Yeah, but apparently the entire thing is empty as shit because everyone just wanted an ending. So now I'm waiting for the definite final version that has all the fluff. And the wait is killing me
Found this over on Patreon. New author, seems VN style game. Gonna try it now.
For the guy chimping out about 3D porn: I've seen you throw a fit in other threads too. This board has pretty much every fetish out there discussed, but 3D makes you throw a fit, why? I could understand futa, bbw/slob, sissy, but I just can't wrap my head around why you single out 3D EVERY TIME it's mentioned in a thread.
It's pretty shit. English was clearly the writer's 9th language, there are like 3 short scenes, and the creator seems content to count that a finished game. The phone is an interesting way to facilitate travel, I suppose, not that there's much travelling to do.
>I don't know where to start. I just want to make something fun and sexy.
Presumably with what you find fun and sexy, so that it will keep your interest. Then scale it down to something you can realistically make, keeping in mind that if you aren't good at something you'll either have to learn how to do it, pay someone else to do it, or design your game so you don't need to do it.
So, uh, how to create such a game? Is Renpy all you need? I can kinda draw (pic related), what else do I have to do to make mad moniez of my otherwise useless skills?
Please tell me it's really easy and any idiot could do it.
Renpy for those dime a dozen slave trainer "games". I haven't really looked into Renpy, so I don't know a lot about its customizability. Python is easy to use and free. Implementing any kind of DRM is nearly impossible though, since you don't compile the code for the end user (you can, if you want though, but still easily reversed).
RPG maker VX ace is a good choice too, if you customize it. The vanilla fantasy RPG setting is shit and so are the resources. I'm currently working on a test project and I can safely say that the engine is fairly customizable. You can teach yourself Ruby within a couple of days if you have some basic programming experience.
That picture looks really good by the way. I suggest you look for a programmer to spearhead the project if you're not familiar with game development.
Pic related: my test project's pause menu. Art is borrowed from a random Japanese project. There's custom stats, a pregnancy gauge, edited the menu commands (and removed the useless ones) and the standing picture changes according to the clothes she's wearing (6 clothing regions). Prologue is nearly done, so I might even post the game in the near future.
Thanks. Just realised that all files have weird names in Latin characters only, despite my locale being Japanese. I don't know why that is, but I'll try to figure it out.
Now the first error is fixed I run into a music error with the same reason once I decide to play the intro.
Suspecting it might be Windows 10 fucking me over.
To my surprise, it was 7zip causing the problems.
For some odd reason, despite what google said about 7zip working fine with Japanese file names, mine did not. WinRar didn't like them either, nor did any other program I tried.
However, Windows Explorer extracted the zip just fine.
Really was somewhat of a last straw, as it said 7zip works fine with it everywhere (I even had 7zip running in Japanese, but that obviously didn't solve it either).
It just seems retarded for a program to have issues with S-JIS encoding, when you can actually run it in Japanese.
This seems deceptively easy. I just scribbled up some rough shit and put it in code. Is Ren'Py really that casual?
And yes, the ink is shit and I didn't color anything yet.
Yes it is, but depending on how far you want to breach (choices that do matter and stuff) its more of a question how well you can organize/plan than it is how well can you code?
Also, depending on how complex you want to make certain things, it gets harder than that, but honestly, if your game is any good, you can easily ask for help here...
Technically speaking, nothing is wrong with the language itself. It's just that programmers typically like to have a bit more freedom with their code, hence why C++ is as massive as it is.
You have convinced me to add "t. " to my filter. Literally every single post that includes that is nothing but shitposting.
Where did it even originate? /pol/? Reddit?
People seem to use it as a sort of attribution of a quote, such Confucius in this example:
"Blatant shitposting" -Confucius
But they always skip a line between the body of the text and the "t, " and it's always used in conjunction with shitposting.
You can customize Renpy plenty, but you need to know Python to do it. You can't do stuff like 3D graphics and you'd have to write the code for like platformers or JRPG type games almost from scratch, but you can do plenty with games that are VNs, or classic point and click adventure games, or board games, or whatever.
Yeah, the basic assumption is that "coders don't need it," so it would be less efficient than just building a game from scratch, but really if you do know Python well you can rebuild any part of Renpy that you don't like, even the core functions, so it's a good head start that can easily grow with you.
That's absurd. It would be like saying that the best tool for a carpenter is a car because it can do many things, and they can just crash their car into a nail if they need to hammer one in.
Ren'Py is a fine language if you're making a VN, but just look at Defiler Wings if you want to know why you shouldn't use it for more advanced games.
I'm just trying out stuff currently. It goes reasonably well but I expect to run into problems somewhere around if-when stuff. No idea if I want to really do something big with it. Right now, I'm sitting at 15 minutes of gameplay and lots of scribbled up images.
Well at least I included elf twins now.
How long is a VN supposed to be anyway? Everyone's talking about 50+ hours, that's fucking insane. How long was Unteralterbach?
Last VNs I played were from the 90s and it shows. Ah well.
I think they mean 50 hours to cover every possible path, and even that is for professional works. If you can make something that could keep people busy for an hour, that would already be impressive.
>Everyone's talking about 50+ hours, that's fucking insane
50+ hours is literally the mark on vndb for the longest possible category of VN's. Unteralterbach was medium, 10-30 hours, but often time a nukige (a VN designed only for fapping) will be much shorter than the typical VN.
Anon, seriously, 50 hours is what a professional product or a community effort should reach, not something you could do on your own. For your first try on your own, even getting up to 1 hour wold be a lot.
So game is pretty fun but does it have a any content? I read a little and i was suprised boogie made some CG for this.
I'm looking forward with you anon for someone to drop 7.3. Also do you have any tips in playin it, im ain't a pussy and I won't use debug mode.
If you know half of what you'd need to know to build a game engine from scratch, then you know enough to be able to take Renpy apart and put it back together in the way you'd need it to, for a lot of different game types, at least. It isn't the engine I'd use to do anything with heavy realtime action, but anything remotely turn-based it's a fine platform to build on.

If nothing major comes up over the weekend, he's going to start another big update where Rogue remembers what she's done or denied to do, but it'll break a bunch of shit so no updates for a bit while he works it out.
Does anyone have the new preview images ZONE's new ghostbusters flash?
I wouldnt say 1 hour is a lot. You can make one hour of decent content in like 12 hours of labor. An hour of pretty high quality content in 30 of labor.
I would shoot for medium quality, 3 hours. If I had any intention to contribute anything at all.
One where Renpy has most of the programming done and all you need to do is input your script in the correct format, where you only need to draw like three poses, and where the average person can type at 100 wpm.
If you are making a game that pretty well writes itself, it would be easy. And given that you are only making an hour worth of content, its not like you can have an intricate plot or anything. An hour long game would be like one of the dating sim flash games you can find from the early 00's, except with one girl and ending with a kiss.
>where the average person can type at 100 wpm
The average person types closer to 20wpm, but your entire point is shit regardless. The average adult reads at roughly 250 words per minute, which would make an hour of content roughly 15,000 words. Using your absurdly generous statistic of 100wpm, just typing that script would take two and a half hours of concentrated typing, which is of course absurd, because scriptwriting is a creative process, not a mechanical one.
>An hour long game would be like one of the dating sim flash games you can find from the early 00's, except with one girl and ending with a kiss
You mean those dating sims that even with all of their characters only take around an hour to complete?
Matbe I'm just fucking shit but does anyone else find the combat in Iris quest to be hard as fuck? Its bare bones as hell but still lets the latter enemies pile on buffs with no way to counter it. I just wanted silly bandit adventures and porn. Not an rpg that forgot to let you level or grind
>If you are making a game that pretty well writes itself
And if you are not making a game that magically writes itself?
>An hour long game would be like one of the dating sim flash games you can find from the early 00's
Wait, how slow are you at gaming? It took you one hour to play through one of those?
>does anyone else find the combat in Iris quest to be hard as fuck?
It's been ages since the demo came out, but I remember a lot of people had problems with it, so you are certainly not the only one.
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.
There, put you bitches down in a minute.
>One where Renpy has most of the programming done and all you need to do is input your script in the correct format, where you only need to draw like three poses, and where the average person can type at 100 wpm.
Wow, I look through these threads sometimes but nobody mentions Overwhored so I'm surprised to see people have this time. I do - NOT - stealth shill my game. I shill my game openly.
The final beta is up on my patreon. There's probably a few bugs, so if bugs make you sperg out don't play the beta. The public release will be out in about a week or so. For those of you that hate patreon remember the public release will be free.
Sorry it took so long, folks. I've been working on this game for five years and I'll openly admit I'm sick as hell of working on it. I just want it done properly so I don't have to come back and do stuff again. I'm happy and proud of what I've done - I started as a writer with no game experience and built an 8+ hour RPG with full art and custom programming work. That said, I'm ready to move onto new projects. I've also been doing a lot of pre-production on my next game, a hypnosis/incest themed visual novel, and I'll have a demo out before long for it.
If you want to leave feedback on stuff to change though, this is the time to do it. Once the public release goes out I won't be going back.
It's the same sort of "fun" you get from running a marathon. You make something you can feel pride in, you enjoy being creative.
If you actually want to finish it, however, it's a long and difficult journey and it isn't actually fun a lot of the time. It's work. It's deeply fulfilling, but it is a long hard slog. It comes down to whether you want that fulfillment and pride in finishing something.
I think it'll be a lot of fun. It's about a guy that wants to turn his mom and three sisters into sex slaves during a snowed in weekend with the power of hypnosis.
I've also brought in a writer named Pan that specializes in mind control and incest themed stories to help out. He's going to co-author it and started work already based on an outline I gave him. I'll still be doing a lot of the writing but he's helped me get a head start. While I finished Overwhored he was free to write on this game a bit.
If the idea appeals to you you should look up his "Limits" series. It was the inspiration for this game.
It's listed on that page.
I have a page there too, though I have a story up on that site as well, though it's just one.
It won't be. It's more an experiment into seeing how expensive/difficult VN's are to produce than anything else, so there won't be a lot of branching paths or a timer. It'll be pretty straightforward and production will only take a few months. I already have the backgrounds inked.
>Though though though
Gah, sorry about the repetition. I'm bone-tired. I've been hauling truckfulls of firewood during the day and pulling all-nighters on the computer to get Overwhored done enough to go out today for the past few days. I've had somewhere around four hours of sleep a day for the past few days.
Do that if you wanna man. If any of you like it feel free to donate - remember, I'm making another game after this BECAUSE of the donations. That said you had to donate to get access to the link, so thanks!
But remember I don't post betas to the public for another reason, and that's that they might have game breaking bugs. Just remember that if you decide to play that link.
>But remember I don't post betas to the public for another reason, and that's that they might have game breaking bugs.
Jokes on you, I get off on people getting cockblocked by game breaking bugs.
But seriously, thanks for your hard work these last few years and good luck with your next game, it sounds really interesting and Pan is a solid, reliable writer.
Does anyone have an update on Breeding season, Iris quest and that Injustice game?
>Does anyone have an update on Breeding season, Iris quest and that Injustice game?
Injustice has been put on hold indefinitely after Patreon told SR7 to take it down. Iris Quest keeps being worked on. Like >>393102 said, there was a minigame demo out just recently.
I know nothing about Breeding Season.
This is why despite my game starting as a parody I used original characters for everything. SR7 would have been much better served to create some "original" characters that are thinly veiled references to the originals. It would have allowed him to make a game like that without any worries about copyright claims.
He still could, DESU. I hope he does. He had a decent idea.
Famous characters are an easy way to gather early interest, that's for sure, but yeah, they carry that risk with them. Expies would be almost as good, but at this point I think SR7 will stick with the completely-original-characters-road for quite a while.
Probably. I can practically count up the hours of labor that went into that game by looking at the art assets alone, and it is a devastating loss to have something like that taken down. It will absolutely mess you up.
I think one of the prime benefits to parody is also the freedom, though. You can do female versions of characters and company crossovers (Marvel, DC, Wildstorm, etc) without it being jarring to the player.
I can't imagine him wanting to jump into another project that big after getting fucked before, but if he does I think that would serve him best. He can just keep the Timm style.
It's because literally no part of the team has any idea what they're doing, and they're constantly trying to make workarounds for their spaghetti code instead of just taking an hour or two to rewrite the whole thing.
I'm now up to ~30 minutes of gameplay. I still have to redraw some stuff, fuck up the ending beyond all recognition and add an intro and some more text here and there. I guess 1 hour is the max I'm shooting for.
I'm planning to push all kinds of sex scenes into it. Right now, I'm at 3. I still need 2-3 more. Maybe 4. Let's see. It's really fun so far. But I dread the re-drawing of all stuff.
I have mixed feeling about this. I think I'm just going to wait for a week until the public version comes out, since any possible bugs will get smoothed out. It anyone does go ahead and download it, maybe just look for bug and shit and tell Cypress about them
Hey Cypress, did I see elsewhere that you were paying some women to put voice-work in Home Invasion/Violation/What Have You?
This may just be me being a pessimist, but if so I can't help but feel that's a bad idea. Voice work done badly can get cringy as fuck. Unless you're really, really confident in who you find (and possibly even if you are, since tastes might vary), then that's potentially a lot of money and time invested in something that could fuck up horribly.
It's a very short game and it's meant to be a test more than anything else. The costs probably won't be as extreme as you imagine.
I will say that I used to be a stage actor at one point in my life. I can tell people who know how to act from those that don't and I know how to give direction. If I don't get people of sufficient skill I just won't bother with VA's at all. And I'll include an option to turn the voices off anyway.
What error? Because importing old saves will give you an error automatically, I can't fix that.

Question about the Last Sovereign.
Is it supposed to start off like that?
Without some sort of an intro to difine the who/why/where you are? And with some sort of a party already formed but can't be viewed anywhere in the game's menus?
Ok, there's obviously something wrong here.
The game starts me up with a 15 level character called Kai in some city district, equipped a shinning sword and armor.
When I try to talk with someone, there's a bunch of other characters talking as if I have a fully formed adventuring party with me already. Some old man, a young green-haired boy, a blonde whoman and another girl that can sense things, who I can't see them anywhere else and the formations are greyed out too. I have no idea who these guys are and why are they with my character.
That's what I get when I start a New Game in version 0.16.1
I don't think this is how it should be.
(I'm the guy from the second game you referred to)
I've been idle for two weeks now, thinking about the best approach to handle the story.
What I'm going to do next:
>Write a detailed bio for the main character, her "nemesis" and a quick bio of the other characters
I'm fairly convinced that this will enable me to write a detailed and more interesting story than the average adult game.
>Figure out an interesting combat system
Art assets are there, but I need to figure out an interesting combat system with: no random encounters, no grinding, no magic, ...
>Do the interiors of the second town and populate it
Hey, I'm working on it. I'm totally out of the loop when it comes to inking since I tend to take breaks from art that are too long.
I added some small trap scene, too. No sex because no homo, but the inking went so well on him I figured I might as well insert him.
Got almost no work done today, though.
Actually, I can show you some more scribbles and shit. I still need to ink and color all this... oy vey.
That IS the intro- you get to see the kind of people who become Chosen Ones™, and as you play the actual protagonist, you'll find out more about the world. Honestly, the 'show, not tell' approach is something I wish more games did.
No. Parody is legally protected in the US. However there's no need. The female characters were all original.
There were some inspirations. The entire game was originally based on a theological essay on the seven virtues. I wrote it but nobody read it. The heroines were all based on those virtues. I used Overlord as the basis because it had heroes corrupted into the seven sins. I had written my essay on how the virtues would without balance from the other virtues turn into corruptions of their own.
Each heroine is based upon that idea. Nanshe is corrupt Diligence. Branda is corrupt Temperance. Rubati is corrupt Chastity. Audr is corrupt Charity. Bilbine is corrupt Kindness, and Joy is corrupt Humility.
The Overmind himself continues the trend in a way, but that goes into spoilers.
It's fair enough to say that some characters occupied similar roles as the game characters, however. For instance the Tower Mistress held the same position Gnarl did. Alexia, Kael and Iskis hold the same position as the minions. Drnwyn holds the same position as the minion blacksmith, etc. There are similarities but the characters are quite different. I didn't just want to do a thinly veiled parody. I used parody as a vehicle to tell a story of my own.
I DLed the game today, I started in a desert, and got 2 people (old man, and a girl).
What he describes sounds different. I got 0.16.1 too.
Also no possibility to talk to someone, you walk up the campfire, two people join your group. Im like 6 hours in now, and now im confused.
I actually can't get the boat to take me anywhere the first time you get to use it. Just skirts around the edge of the land but can't go south because of rocks, and cant go north because dark water.... Anyone help?
I guess it's human nature that most of us (myself included) are a lot more aware of the Seven Sins than the Seven Virtues. Of course they also aren't actually in any scriptures, but were made up, IIRC by Augustine to create a model of his idea of how sin and grace work.
So I'm not familiar with how he defined the difference between Dilligence and Patience, but I couldn't help but feel as though Nanshe and Ilmatar kind of went about their corruption the same way. Both concluded that the hyu-mons couldn't endure for the Overmind's further resurrections, and so used magic to try and make a more permanent solution. Ilmatar's killings were just much less personal and more wide-ranging than Nanshe's.
Also, how did you figure that Kindness led to Bilbine being part ultra-capitalist and part 10 years in the iso-duckbot, creep?
Bilbine is based off of Francoist Spain crossed with Fox News. Kindness was hard as hell, the initial concept was someone that grew up in a kind of cruel Las Vegas style place and took control. Ultimately I borrowed from history.
Kindness works only if it is voluntary and comes from oneself. If kindness is a forced action it's a kind of facism. It imprisons the soul in a shell of pre-prepared action. In essence, it's much like the golems forced to do kind acts. This doesn't mean kindness and enforcing politeness and civility are bad; far from it. But an absolutist enforcement of it is pretty damn fascist. Poverty tends to lead to cruelty because desperate poor people have to do more to survive. Thus it would be the comfortable rich that would endure. Their cruelty lives behind closed doors and is unlikely to be seen when looking for obvious issues.
Nanshe and Ilmatar are somewhat similar, yes, but Patience and Diligence are similar. Diligence means working without fail or complaint. Patience means enduring hardship without complaint. Diligence force upon others is basically slavery, while Patience forced upon others is basically torture where you're not allowed to express your pain.
I might as well finish things off here. Audr is a bit like tumblr. She's corrupted charity and she practices cultural imperialism disguised as help.
Rubati is corrupted chastity - you don't have to look far for historical examples of that. Her cathedral was inspired by certain Irish nunneries you might have heard of.
Branda is corrupted Temperance. It's essentially self control and self denial. Forced upon others it's just austerity and denial of their needs and desires.
Virtues are good because they're internal, self-driven things. Guiding others toward them is good, but trying to force others towards them is absolutely vile and essentially what leads to the corrupted virtues.
I know, this is also something to work on. It's all basically stock images and really rough sketches right now.
>Brozeks & Grozeks posted Changing
Here we want to present you a new features of our project.
First, we decided to refuse from Ren'py source and transfer our game to another game source. That means, that we change game platform and now will be using web browser for playing. May be later we will consider to use another platforms, like Android, IOS and etc.
Second, we will improve gameplay with many things like:
1) You will manipulate mother and daughter, and give them many commands, like go to eat, sleep, take a shower and etc.
2) All this actions will be establish on timing.
3) Characters will get experience from some actions and increase their levels. From their levels will be depend opening new features, actions and etc.
Also, combat system will be changed, but we'll cover that later.
Same as "groped". "Being" gullible (as in picking the choices where you do lewd stuff instead of telling them to piss off). "Being" groped.
But I'm probably going to drop that stat. Groping should be enough for stat tracking.
Story will start out in a modern village, with "time travel" to a medieval setting. I was thinking of making her a complete cunt and focussing on the mind breaking in the medieval-themed environment.
>Im like 6 hours in now
Everything sounds normal until this point: the prologue lasts twenty minutes at most. The Chosen One finds the man and the girl, then they go to the castle and get their asses kicked. Then the game begins.
I love everything about this. I'm sure further down the line you'll switch the stock images with drawn backgrounds.
It honestly sounds like it's for the best. It'll probably take them months, but maybe this way we'll get a decent game instead of the horrible mess we have now.
Was just confused because the post I responded to, responded to a post saying
>The game starts me up with a 15 level character called Kai in some city district, equipped a shinning sword and armor.
>When I try to talk with someone, there's a bunch of other characters talking as if I have a fully formed adventuring party with me already. Some old man, a young green-haired boy, a blonde whoman and another girl that can sense things, who I can't see them
Which is not how my game started, not in a city district, not with a full party (2 people, the real you and a girl), so I got confused there.
I just checked what happens when you start a new game int the latest version and it looks like it's actually bugged, so I'm a double faggot and the fault it's not yours. I can only hope it'll be fixed soon, but until then you are 100% right and I apologize for wasting your time.
>Story will start out in a modern village, with "time travel" to a medieval setting. I was thinking of making her a complete cunt and focussing on the mind breaking in the medieval-themed environment.
>Story will start out in a modern village, with "time travel" to a medieval setting.
So do you travel back and forth between the two, or is it just one of those pointless "you're an outsider to this world" things?
If you just make the PC be from another world/time and don't do anything more with it, then it has no point in the story, and it dodges a lot of potential avenues for making the PC a character, and making the world feel cohesive. If you're going more with it, then fine, but almost every time I see it, it's just an excuse for the main character to go in knowing as little as (or, often, less than) the player.
>I play a porn game the whole day for the story and skipped most of the "porn" parts... wtf is wrong with me
The same happened to me. The porn is nice, but it can't stop me from moving towards the next political target.
I played Overwhored a long time ago, and got to a desert before it ended. How much content does the game have now? There was a lot of little stems of incomplete features in the main castle at that time, is all that fleshed out now? Should I play the beta or just wait until final completion?
About eight hours of gameplay. That was chapter three, there are seven chapters.
The beta is a beta for a reason, it's there to help me find the bugs I miss while making the game. The full, complete version of the game will be out in a few days. Probably Friday. You should wait until then if you want the full experience.
Then give me money. Because I like money. Also because it helps me make more games.
When have you seen that? Every time I've seen it used it's been to make the MC a Gary Stu. His basic knowledge in all modern fields makes him an ultra-genius in the medieval setting and such. It can be entertaining if done right, but it's usually just self-insert power trip nonsense.
Why don't you implement a skip feature like all the Japanese RPGMaker games? It makes replaying sections more bearable and allows combat to go much faster because it doesn't play the animations.
You're thinking of modern LNs. I was thinking of when it was popular in the west, a good long time ago now. I was also going for the more generous reason. The crown jewel of that older western paradigm would be Three Hearts and Three Lions; it is of far higher quality than the average story like that.
Those are just scribbles. The real meat will come with coloring and better inking (I hope I can manage to ink everything very thin, but I have my doubts). That will take hours and I'm already afraid of it.
I'm up to ~50 minutes of gameplay now and going into the endgame. Then, the troubleshooting will start. And adding things here and there. And some more interactions, because it's Telltale-style railroading right now.
The stock backgrounds will maybe stay. I have no idea how to make VN style backgrounds and can't find any info online.
Then again, it's just a test. I shouldn't bite off more than I can chew.
No pics because they would spoil many things right now. I did 5 new char images today, though. Let's see how many will sty.
>The stock backgrounds will maybe stay. I have no idea how to make VN style backgrounds and can't find any info online.
Wait, are VN backgrounds their own style? I've always thought that they were just genetic backdrops for the conversation.
The only thing I can think of is that VN backgrounds (like the one youre linked) are much more detailed than what you normally see in say a manga, because they will be reused quite often.
>Wait, are VN backgrounds their own style? I've always thought that they were just genetic backdrops for the conversation.
It's done in a certain style I have no idea how te replicate in a high fantasy setting.
To be honest, you use your own character styles, that dont look anything like the standard japanese characters, so why should your background do?
Draw what you want, how you want it, but not when you want it, cause /weg/ is greedy and we want the game yesterday
