As >>351511 says, you're not actually playing as the first asshole you start the game as. He dies in the first unbeatable boss fight leaving you to play as [spoiler]Simon, the older mentor in the party[/spoiler].

The character you actually play as is far more interesting, since he's got a history and a sense of morality but still has a cynical sense of pragmatism that makes him interesting to follow as you watch him grow in power.

Essentially, he winds up with the power used by the major villains of the setting and the question becomes how he's going to use it to make the world less shitty.

And it's not a problem you're going to solve just by stabbing things yourself- you wind up building military, economic, social and political strength as well and do a bunch of dealing and quests and make plans and then have to figure out what to do when things throw a wrench in your plans.

It does a pretty good job of building up your supporting characters in the form of both your combat party members and the non-combat ones who support you in other methods such as financial advice. Most of them are part of your growing harem but I like that there's a lot of interaction and banter between them and different relationships forming. Plus I like the writing; it's fun just to run around and interact with things and read item descriptions just to see what everyone says.

It also does some interesting things like there's no grinding- all encounters are fixed and unconscious allies and people not in the party still gain XP. If you are totally down for hidden stats and optimization like I am there's a bunch of fun things you can do like messing around with investments and things like that, but you can still do well enough without it.

Basically I'm not sure if it's a great porn game but it's a very good RPGMaker game and getting better all the time since the creator has made monthly updates for the past fifteen months and there's a sense of building progress.

Between magic, melee, healing, and sex magic, you can't cover all the bases in one party, so you have to figure out what the enemies will be weak against once you get most of the fighters.

My default team was Simon, Aka, Robin and Yara since that covered all my bases. Simon and Aka provided melee damage and single-target debuff control, Robin provided elemental damage for targeting weaknesses and emergency healing if necessary (which you don't usually need need if you're good with debuffs), and Yarra provided crowd control and sex magic (and topped off anyone who was getting low on mana). If I was going to fight crowds then I tagged Altina in for Robin and if I just wanted to eat some faces with physical damage then it was Varia's time to shine.

Since you can always heal out of combat by selecting your healers and using their skills you don't usually need to have a dedicated healer in battle. It's easier just to focus more on murder and crowd control against most trash mob fights. Even in boss fights I found that it was usually easier to focus on blinding/silencing/weakening the boss and piling on the damage before it could hurt me too much. So many problems can be solved by debuffs.

Sadly this meant that Hilastara and the dedicated healers usually sat in the back of the party because murdering things fast was usually more effective than tanking and healing.

I want to play a femdom game where you try to please your mistress by humiliating tasks. Getting the character to do it is fairly easy but requires you to do type humiliating statements into the keyboard, choose really awkward dialogue options while talking to various NPCs, etc.

I'd advise against conference videos. Unless it's a conference of people with little experience in the field or simply about coding, path finding algorithms and the like, you will just end up having all those conventions of game development in your head.
Granted, some of those are good and are what works, but at the same time they can halt growth and prevent you from coming up with something really out of the ordinary.
Simply looking up how to write a story won't help either. Write, a lot. You won't develop writing skills, if you don't write a lot.
Also read a lot, but read good literature (Joyce, Capote and the like). Reading a lot also helps you develop a better style and increases your vocabulary. Try to learn from the best.
But actually do look up how authors work and see what of that helps you. Learn about construction of a good story, as well as very basic things like always going back to your stories a few times, each time after a longer time, to fix things.
Whether you actually want to learn modelling and animation depends on what kind of game you are interested in making.
You do have to learn how to draw though, no matter if you later put it in 3D or not and you do have to learn how to use a graphics tablet.
(Unless you can afford to buy all the art for your game.)
If you simply want to work with RenPy or RPGMaker, you don't really need a programming language, but you need to know your way around Python or JavaScript respectively.
If you want to make something from scratch or work with nothing but an engine, you need to actually be a good programmer or your stuff will be buggy and/or run slow/use up a lot of resources.
In that case learn C++. There is a reason it is that widely used in the gaming industry. Don't learn Java. Java is handy for other things, but for most games I wouldn't use it.
Now it wouldn't hurt to learn Java, but for making games there are simply languages better for it.

Iris Quest update, they're going to release a mini game with Shantae soon™.

The technical part (the mini-game itself, and all of the interfaces with backgrounds and icons) is completely finished! After some minor tweeks we could give you the test version by tomorrow.
But we're not going to do that just yet.
Instead, we're going to polish the artistic part some more. The game art, dialogues and their translation etc., etc. - everything that'll transform our technical demo for the minigame into a completed part of a larger game. Only then it'll make sence to present it to you. That way it'll be clear why you should play it and what you gain in result.
A little bit of patience, comrades! We're working hard in order to be done with all of this sometime next week!

Read the magazine by right clicking it. That'll suggest you what the password for the tablet could be. By talking with the little sister in the library you can get the information necessary to get it. Bottom line, it's 8894.
