Hey guys I don't want to sound like a dick or anything but I just want to remind you all of the super original guidelines.
This was meant to literally be a drawthread but for OCs, so that includes being respectful towards others and not spamming it every five seconds.
Secondly there is a rule that states you MUST draw a NEW picture of your oc if you are going to request them again. A new picture is not a crop, not a recolor, not a change of expression, its a completely new picture.
Thirdly these threads were just meant to have fun so can we all just get a long a bit better?

Since we are on a new thread, I'll post my other oc Shadonna. She is a shadow spirit that is harmed, and can die, from sunlight or just bright light in general. I did a quick and unproportional sketch of what the back of her head looks like. She can shapeshift though, so both of these can be correct and I like the interpretation of both. Her main form that I designed is just the easiest for her to maintain strangely.

Also little fun facts about her. I plan to put her in a game, where she'll mostly live in alleyways selling hard-to-get stuff for high price. If she sees that someone is intimidated by her that dont know her at all, she'll act like a thug towards them for kicks. Lol

Since you asked, this reworked version of her was originally created as a swift all terrain adaptive war unit, there was a small squad of 10 prototypes including her.
After a few mission it was clear that these units were reliable but not as effective as giant metal gears, such as from the game.
On her last mission with the only 3 remaining units shit went down and only MIA made it severely damaged, savaged by metal scrappers and attempted to be turned into a sexbot her security programs went off before she could be modified any further.
She brought the whole place down in a beserker malfunction. Thus why she only has the two holes.
After the auto repair system kicked in, she stabilized and saw herself with nowhere to go and absolutely free.
Now she just wanders wherever she pleases and satisfies her occasional lust for entertainment.
Her unit was given as missing in action, reason for her name MIA

whats crazy is some similar aspects of thier story, meaning they have strong common ground.

Piper was formally an animatronic for a Pirates of the Caribbean style park ride (FNAF wasnt even close to being a thing when I created her)
The park was closed down and she sat in storage,the outer covering being damaged leaving then endo skeleton.

piper suddenly finds herself on the street of a town, sentient. all she knows is from her attire she seems to be a pirate, so for a while shes basically a homeless robot trying to be a pirate. (she ends up pulling heists but what she ends up stealing are unbeknownst to her things being thrown away or unwanted anyways, so she thinks she did a great job but never ends up doing any harm)

at one point she gets damaged and finds a duo of mechanics in a junk yard, they repair her and essentially become like parents to her and she lives in the junkyard with them.

thats about it. as far as why the parl closed, i never picked a specific reason, and as far as who took her out of starage and programmed her, i had that worked out as a part of a friends world, but he went a different direction and things split off, so i keep it vague and undecided for now.

the way i see it, MIA is also a wondering bot removed from her original purpose and taken in by those to repair her, but with different results.
(i assume she would initially be untrustworthy of pipers "dads")
Now thats ive thought it all out, I cant NOT see them being friends.

MIA isn't much to trust anyone. She might be a bit open to other robots but with humans she's absolutely closed.
Her greatest fear is being "fixed" and losing herself.

The time setting for her story isn't decided, but her shenanigans didn't happen in more that 4 years past.

Prepare for autism.
For Axe, I sort of pulled from Shakespeare's Hamlet, but that was back in the day. He doesn't retain as much of the influence anymore. His mom is based on the scandal surrounding the song "Les Sucettes", hence the lollipops and tarnished innocence.
The biggest factor, though, was how they were both designed to be very Freudian characters. It was pretentious as fuck. First off, there was Axe's Oedipus complex. Then some of that wish fulfillment theory every time they entered this dreamlike "distorted world", which was usually where Axe's id rampaged free. A large part of the plot was how Axe might have murdered his father (that's where the axe comes from), but it wasn't clear if it was a distorted world sequence or if he actually did it. Either way he ran around stricken with guilt, convinced that "father is watching". Then came the life and death drives. Mom represented the life drive, and there was a shitload of sex/pregnancy imagery with her for that. Axe was the death drive, so he wanted to return to nothingness, to be destroyed. Even now, he's noticeably masochistic.
Fuck, there were Hamlet references too. When Axe acted on his id, his skin kinda peeled off and he became a shadow monster looking thing. That was a reference to Hamlet wishing that his flesh would melt off, which also ties in with the death drive shtick. And instead of his father's ghost, Axe got his mother's virginity's ghost.

Oh god, how did I type all that? I guess we all like talking about our OCs, huh. Sorry, I'm done now.

Well first of all if you put RPG girl/Ammy on the list you must be new. The art isn't stellar, but unfortunately, that's all that was posted this thread. She has her quirks and a very distinct personality, accompanied by a well-thought-out backstory. I believe these descriptions were compiled recently on pastebin.

You're also probably new for putting Jack on there. Again, the art may throw you off because it's different, but Jack's the kind of OC you can immediately spot and identify. He has a good design. This anon's other OCs are pretty cool too.

I personally am not too fond of cripple boy/Delta but that's just me. No objections to his design, definitely doesn't fall into the "generic" category.

Some other OCs you linked do look generic. Wouldn't be able to tell them apart from the crowd of other generic characters if drawn in a similar style, and I don't know anything about their personalities either.

Well, I was working on some drawings for some of the OCs here when my tablet died.
So since I'm out of the drawing game for a while I might as well post one of my own OCs.

This one is Baddy, relatively one of my newest characters since I've only been developing her for about a year. Even though she doesn't look like it, she's an undead girl. She was sentenced to serve 100 years in hell working on a bordello for the sin of bestiality. She's actually not into that tho, in reality, just before she died on the street after being hit by a car, a dog humped her body while she was agonizing, which was enough for the gate keeper of the underworld to give her such sentence.
Being terribly afraid of snakes while she was alive, she was also given the eyes of a snake and the ability to transform into a snake/human hybrid.

Also, when you're first picking it up, it's not just about the raw numbers of pictures you can spit out in any given amount of time, but what you're learning and improving upon with each one you do. As I said before, you should learn from your own previous work. Did one particular part of a drawing come out looking good (even if on accident)? Figure out WHY it looks good. Did something get messed up, and now the picture looks horrible? WHAT SPECIFICALLY makes it look horrible, and how can you avoid doing that in the future?

have been drawing others OC but thought i would upload one of mine. Her name is Fay and she is a Valkyrie from a book i am writing. she is trapped on Midgard due to an old law and bound to Arngrim ( my other main char) she is hot headed and a strong woman however due to the magic of the bond must do as she is told by Arngrim.

Vissy is kinda an out crowd nerd girl type. She likes cosplaying and has limited shape-shifting abilities. The form that she has in the picture is her base humanoid form and requires the least amount of concentration/help without her reverting to a pudding form. I don't know if she has any fetishes, but she does have sorta a crush on her best friend, Sissy even though they generally have a platonic friendship.

How do you guys draw?
I'm completely new aside from drawing stuff on a notepad; I'm trying to just practice a ton, any recommendations on how to get the hang of lighting/faces? I tend to do an alright body then create a hideous abomination when I attempt to the face.

Go to /ic/, study anatomy like crazy, cry a lot because your art isnt good enough, get art blocks x100, draw more anatomy and stay away from anime shit because all anime is taken from real life, and continue from there until you've died.
