There is character development and then there is forcing your characters to do and say things without any reason whatsoever. Come on, author, can't you feel that your characters do not want to do the things you made them do? They're out of character. I can accept that Dipper does and says weird shit, but Mabel is too weird too just abandon everything she was before. She even stops calling Dipper Dipstick. In 5 chapters time, had the author gone on, she would have either been a marine or sworn like one.

The truth is just that you're not weird. These are all fictional characters. Most people with an incest fetish would never actually have sex with their sibling if they had one.
