>It’s been several months since Ridley, captain of the space pirates had captured, enslaved, and broken in his longtime rival the powerful bounty hunter Samus Aran, for him this is his greatest achievement and nothing can top this.

Arthas was basically a pawn. A husk even. Nerzhul is the one calling the shots. Arthas was just a weak young man, until Nerzhul started calling to him. Got him to take up Frostmourne, and then the frozen throne. By the time he takes up the title of Lich King, Nerzhul is pretty much in complete posession of his body. I imagine somewhere in there is still a young paladin trapped in the prison of his head, watching it all and screaming.

You could say Nerzhul is very much the victorious villain in that pic, since he has pilfered a young handsome body, and now after ages trapped in the ice, he is gettin his dick wet with a bunch of conquered enemies. Unlife is good.

Yeah, I wasn't really blaming you. Most WoW players don't know that stuff, or most lore in general. That was all written backstory back during WC3. I have just always been really into the lore. Remember in the WC3 cutscenes how the sword and throne seem to keep talking to Arthas, corrupting him? That is Nerzhul. At the final cinematic of Frozen Throne, when he lowers the crown onto his head and his eyes flare with blue fire? That was the moment Nerzhul took over completely.

Nerzhul's backstory was all in the WC1 and 2.

That picture was drawn right after Ground Zeroes had just come out, so there wasn't a whole lot of characterization to go off of. Though to be honest, I've gotten 100% in Phantom Pain and I'm still not really sure what Skull Face's deal was. As far as villains go he didn't really have much of a presence.

Nah, son. In the book The Lich King it gives you an allegory for what happens inside the body of the Lich King. So it's Arthas the death knight, Nerzhul, and child Arthas sitting at a table. DK Arthas kills the child Arthas who was pleading for his humanity, leaving only the Death Knight Arthas and Nerzhul. Nerzhul is all like "I knew you could do it" and then DK Arthas stabs Nerzhul, leaving only Death Knight Arthas to be the Lich King.

When Arthas put on the crown he entered a deep sleep

There he was confronted by a young boy names Matthias Lehner, an anagram for Arthas Menethil, the boy pleaded with the prince that he still had good in him, he still had a heart and it was not yet too late, Arthas agreed with him, which made Matthias overjoyed, Arthas then stabbed Matthias with frostmourne, ner'zhul confronted him and said something in the lines of "bla bla like I foresaw, we will now rule the world or w.e" Arthas proceeds to stab Ner'zhul with Frostmourne, becoming the dominant, he then wakes from his slumber, cuts out his heart, representing the good in him and tosses it down icecrown glacier, far from the reach of anyone

In the new expansion the death knight class quest has you return to ICC and ner'zuls soul that has escaped the shattered frostmournes grip tortures Arthas soul
