That's the issue right there. The brothel stuff and the Liesel stuff are two different paths. The code literally is there to prevent conflict but python is a procedural language so it reads things step by step which makes it think that you've unlocked the brothel already.
I'll fix all this in the next update but roll back to buying the brothel stuff then pick a specific path. Either you hire the men and focus on Liesel or you buy the brothel stuff then focus on getting that up.

Eventually in both paths, you'll reach a point where it stops and allows you to do the other so it isn't a big deal.

Again though, bad programming.

Great so far! Don't worry too much about the programming problems, they're easy to fix at any point. What's important is you get the art and writing done well and that seems to be going fine.

As people have said, the GUI could be improved. Maybe just some text on the image map to help show what stuff is in the main menu. It's a good game so far, just needs a few little tweaks to tidy it up a bit.

Okay so question for everyone. I'm making a game right now, but I can't draw for shit and I don't want to start paying someone for art until I feel more confident that this project will actually be completed.

Thanks for the input. Both the green and red items are in my mind pretty thin, so I don't find it that unlikely that nipples would poke through. You'll notice however that the first images don't have nipples, which is because I figure she has a bra on in those cases, meaning nipples definitely wouldn't poke through. I mostly included the nipples in the last image just to show that I have a version with nipples too, though. It might be possible to code it to your preference, but if it's not, then the nipples will probably be present whenever a bra isn't (I find them hawt, and I *think* most would agree with me), sorry.

As for the seams for the buttons, I will simply have to disagree, I'm afraid. If the lines were any straighter, then they would go in a zig-zag-pattern if you looked at her straight on. Remember that you're looking at her at an angle. check where her nipples are, then use them, her collarbone, and her belly button to from a center line. no normal shit with a straight set of buttons, as far as I can tell, can be straighter at the angle she's standing. I know the default shirts are straigher, but they are then, again, as far as I can tell, either poorly made, or they have a set of buttons that come in between her boobs like the strap of a handbag or a carbelt. The buttons on this shirt do not come in like that, hence the curve.

I could of course be wrong, but I'm pretty confident that I'm not in this case.

I feel like dumping the previous storyline was a mistake. For newcomers, the current intro makes no sense, and for people who played the first demo, it's anti-climactic. I appreciate the change in writing tone, and I like where the new story is heading, but I feel like trashing the old assets was a huge waste, especially with introducing the game with Snow White's death.

I think the old "you are a god, cursed to be a mortal" plot was fine, but the new plot not having the destiny shtick might end up being stronger. I just can't help but feel like the biggest deal-breaker with the setup is that Snow White is dead, but now that the plot requires it for its war-based theme, I don't know how you could get around that. On the same end, I miss the old god villain. I understand why you ditched the battle system (it simply wasn't very fun or worthwhile).

I'm glad you've gotten rid of a lot of the grind by making money fairly easy to get, but having to manually collect money from the tavern is one step too many. Perhaps if there was a banking/interest effect for holding out on collecting for awhile?

I'd hate to say it, but the memory card game makes getting money a bit too easy at times. I banked up 20k before even starting anything else and cruised through the rest of the game. It also wasn't clear if opening the brothel added more per-day profit to the tavern.

I can understand it though. On every forum i've seen it's just either a bunch of people saying that the old storyline made no sense or was just plain stupid. Even here on stg people were hating on him because of the story. Honestly, since they released their new build, the only complaints I've seen are bad UIs, text being too small and a bug. While I get your perspective, the dislike for the previous versions was too high. When it gets to that point, you either need to re-evaluate the situation or fix it to a certain degree. I seriously can't express how much people hated the whole magical aspect.
Though I do completely see what you mean by a deal breaker. Most of the reasons I changed things so dramatically was simply due to artists. The previous artist for the queen was such a genuine time waster that it was ridiculous. You could tell him to do one drawing and he'll take 5 weeks to reply but when his pockets are empty, sending me 10 emails seems like no problem. That being said, I spoke to a friend today and we did sort of come up with an idea to bring back Snow in a perfectly plausible way. The issue is the significance that she will have on the story.

He's sort of back, in the Agrabah section. I've got some crazy things planned for that and I can already tell that it will be my best work.
The summary is that the player and Liesel travel to Agrahbah all alone. They eventually meet Aladdin, Iris from PT(Akabur's cool with me using her) and a bunch of other characters. This section will also be the introduction of Ariel.

Trust me when I say this, the reason it's so easy is because what I planned before was too difficult. I had it set up that Maggie could only give you from 2 to 120 gold at random times and you could only get up to 500 gold in the card game.
