I noticed that it's kinda hard to install scanlation fonts when setting up a linux system.
How about we make an Archlinux AUR package containing "essential" fonts for scanlation?
Stuff used a lot like ccjoekubert, CC wild words, anime ace...

It is? I just copy them to the right folder. Seems better than windows where you have to specifically drag and drop them, or use the GUI.

It depends on the system. It's also cleaner to bundle them in a package, whose installation is easy and makes uninstalling it easy too.
It would also prevent the hassle of visiting a trillion websites in order to find each font (not to mention some are sometimes behind a paywall).

Why? This is manga-related, and I figured I'd get some input from scanlators before attempting this.

>scanlating on Linux
Please tell me you're using Photoshop on WINE and not actually using the trash that is GIMP.
>>138346199
Of course. CS2 works well.

Put the Not and a in the same line.

Distributing fonts that are under a copyright isn't possible in AUR or any "official" repos. Saying this because you mentioned the paywall.
It sounds like a nice idea but I don't scanlate so my opinion doesn't really matter.

Download them. Install them locally. If you don't know how, don't use Arch.
>>138347213
What about corefonts? They're subject to copyright, but are still distributed under ttf-ms-fonts. (no, not the package that requires manually copying font files.)
>>138347333
I know how to download and install them, of course. I was thinking of making a package in order to make the installation less exhausting and frustrating for others.

Mao a cute.
>>138347334
Microsoft has released those fonts as freeware, and even though they fall under an EULA it's not illegal use unless you break the agreement.

Okay, sorry for being retarded
Looks like all the "nice" fonts (CCJoe, Wild Words...) are copyright. Fuck, I guess.
>>138346650
Well, I don't know how Linux works, but on Windows you don't need to actually install fonts to use them in Photoshop, you can just drop them into c:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts\
>>138346650
I want to have sex with mao.
Just put them in a 7zip archive or something.
Why do Linux users have to make everything so needlessly complicated.

>How about we make
>we
I like how this always translates to "hey, I'm a useless piece of shit, somebody else please do something".
